Just can't put it out there, can they? They have to trip over themselves to stress the importance of women getting screened, too. I mean, not just mention that this isn't about the fact that men are so much more likely than women to get colon cancer and then say "but regardless of a person's gender, as they age, all adults need to get screened for this disease." No, they have to gush about how important it is that women go get the screening for most of the article. It's like the mentioning of this fact of greater risk in men for this disease is nothing but an entree into what amounts to a load of blathering about how much more important women are than men. And note the article ends with the suggestion that no change should be made to screening guidelines as a consequence. You can bet your sweet pitootie that if the sexes were revesed, you would not be reading that sort of suggestion. Instead, it'd announce a nation-wide campaign for Colon-Cancer in Women Awareness Month complete with some kind of colored ribbon and contests for winning trips to Europe and tours to wineries.

*Ughhh*....
