Global food crisis worse for women and girls?

Article here. Excerpt:

'There is little prospect of returning to the cheap food regimes that characterized the world prior to 2005 anytime in the foreseeable future. So far, the food crisis has pushed an estimated 75 million people into chronic hunger since 2005.

Women and children, particularly girls, have been hardest hit by the food crisis. In part, this disproportionate impact is because women in poor rural communities have less access to resources, transportation, and communication networks. Any effective resolution to the food crisis - and to reinforce food security more generally - must incorporate an understanding of this differential impact on gender roles.
...
Women and children (especially girls) are more vulnerable to food, fuel, and fertilizer price increases, and to rural poverty generally, than men. This is, of course, not intended as gender one-upmanship; men also experience hardship caused by the marginalization of rural societies.'

.......Its men and boys who suffer most. Men, because of their size, need a higher calorie intake.

Or does it seem that every time a new [ OMG IT'S A CRISIS!!! ] breaks in the news it's always worse for women?
No matter what it is?

I mean I'm waiting for a virus to break out that exclusively targets and kills men... and some Feminist will write a paper on how it's worse for women.

I think this "women are the primary victims of..." nonsense started with the assertion by feminists that women are the primary victims of war. A prime example of gynocentrism where the feminists can't see anything male except when they need something to blame. They can't see that with the exception of western militaries it is standard to kill every male above 8 years of age and older. Frequently some "armies" don't stop at 8 years of age.

More selfish narcissism from women. Do these women think that men and boys have some secret stash of food somewhere or something? Can she explain why men don't suffer as much as women and girls? The disgusting selfishness of women knows no bounds, they probably wouldn't get it if you beat it into their heads with a baseball bat.

Quote from the article (emphasis mine):

"Women and children (especially girls) are more vulnerable to food, fuel, and fertilizer price increases, and to rural poverty generally, than men. This is, of course, *not intended as gender one-upmanship*; men also experience hardship caused by the marginalization of rural societies."

Terrible. This excerpt, if not the entire article, has gender one-upmanship written all over it. Here we see yet another sad, sad example of the media and/or international "humanitarian" organizations taking gender-neutral problems like hunger and poverty and then throwing in an unnecessary "oh, by the way, it's worse for women and girls."

Until we look at such problems in an OBJECTIVE manner and help ALL victims EQUALLY, we will have gender one-upmanship and make no progress as a global society.

Men are probably more likely to be self-sufficient in a time of crisis. They may be more likely to think rationally and start growing their own food in their backyard instead of running to mommy government and complaining.
