Boys School In Works For Fall

So instead of teachers learning how to deal with both sexes, we will segregate the kids and assign single-sex specialist teachers to the classrooms.

Well you know, segregation based on all sorts of parameters would solve a lot of problems. But is that *really* the world YOU want to live in? Not me.

The real segregation is what happens to men in the Family Courts, the DV Industry, Affirmative Action in hiring, etc. The entire legal system is dedicated to gender segregation: "Oppressors and victims."

It would be almost like a paradise of equality if we lived in a society with "segregation based on all sorts of parameters..."

Unfortunately the only parameter that matters when it comes to segregation today is possessing a penis.

Refute my theory....

That girls are OUTPERFORMING the boys in school today. Why? Because they have deconstructed and reconstructed the way that public schools teach - and have geared it to address "young girls self esteem issues". The overhaul of the public school system was done during the Clinton years by Donna Shalala. The changes made then are still in place today. The studies that these changes were based upon have since been proven bogus. And now we are seeing the results of this experimentation, with declining academic performance of males, lower HS graduation rates, lower college enrollment and graduation rates, etc, etc, etc.

The reason single sex schools need to be tried is they now have enough studies showing that this will help.
More power to the parents that enroll their kids in these classes. Anything to improve the performance of the boys and their attitudes is good.

Since it's damn near impossible to fix the current school system without "hurting girls" (you give a child a cookie that they didn't deserve, just try and take it back!) this is the best alternative until we get boys back up to par with girls in graduation rates, etc.

I'm living proof that single sex education can be helpful. When I was in grade seven, my school had an all boys class and an all girls class. I did very well that year.

I think one of the reasons why boys don't do as well in school as girls is because they're more likely to be bullied, and when this happens it's likelier for the school officials to not care, as well as for the boy to be ridiculed for trying to get help. Whereas, if a girl was getting bullied, they'd put an end to it immediately. I'm not saying this is the only problem to blame, but it certainly doesn't help things. Also, girls are more likely to disrupt class and get away with it. These single sex schools will probably be a plus in the long run.

For all practical purposes, academic competition has been banned from K-12.

Because it is "not fair" to make a child feel bad or less than equal.

This is killing our children's minds, because competition is the fuel that makes intelligent young people want to excel!

When did we become such a pussified culture where everyone is supposed to be "nice?"

It's a damn shame that George Washington was not nice to the British when he was kicking their asses during what we actually had to do to found this sad lost cuntry --- make a real revolution!
