As an MRA, a cat lover, and an animal lover in general. I'm glad that the dog was spared.
What the hell kind of radio station has a promotion about destroying stuff that belonged to your ex anyway? It almost seems like some people get less mature as they grow older.
I own two myself. Great animals! Before work everyday I stop at Burger King. Not to eat but to feed a congregation of about 20 abandoned cats living in the woods behind the restaurant.
I'm not the only one.
A few other people also care for the cats. Before we came the cats were eating out of the dumpster.
I have a cat, as well. You're a good man, anthony! I'd probably do the same if I were you. They're so cute, it causes me pain to think of them suffering. They are great animals. Truly affectionate.
The cliche is that men are generally "dog people" (maybe because you can't train a cat to fetch a dead duck unless the cat gets to eat it) and women are supposed to be into cats. (Especially single chicks.)
I've had dogs and cats as pets, but I've always been put off by the servility of dogs.
I prefer the aloof independence of cats.
A dog looks at you and thinks, "when are you going to fetch my dinner?"
A cat looks at you and thinks, "If I were a little bigger, you would BE my dinner."

Mr.R. you may be suffering from a kind of mental condition called "everything has to be literal and direct."
If that is the case, no one here can help you much.
"Strange" is not such a bad thing if you are seeking people with a sense of humor, folks with quirky sensibilities, and an interesting party.
Do you want everyone to be exactly like you?
To agree all the time?
Think about what that world would be like.
Mr.Reality would be just another drone.
If Gloria Steinem can become famous for saying "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle..." -- then men should be able to discuss the representation of cats.
And Mr.Reality should be able to rant, with occasionally brilliant insights.
Mature your voice and you will have a greater effect and people will listen to you.
"Cats are metaphors", "mental conditions", "I want everyone to agree with me", "mature my voice"(So I can sound as dumb as Roy and the crew presumably) and a bunch of other flamewar bullshit that has nothing to do with men's rights seems to be all you're capable of these days. Both you and your buddy Anthony keep trying to draw me into some kind of "catty"(Pun intended) flamewar with your little weak remarks. Only it never works and you only get angrier when I keep telling you to go jump off a cliff continously. I barely post here anymore and yet both of you lie in wait for when I do. It's hilarious when you think about it. You're like message board stalkers.
Either way it is getting old.
You're a done deal.
It's over old man go change your daughter's diapers.
You're still trying to stay in the spotlight -- with your Schopenhauer rulebook -- even though you were thrown off the stage years ago.
Do me a favor and just log-off until you have something intelligient that is supported by facts to bring to Mr. Reality's table.
Isn't it nice that PETA's ideology is now mainstream? Ya know, I have pets too. I have 2 cockatiels, 2 parakeets and alot of fish (30 gallon tank plus a ten gallon baby tank). I don't hate animals but I am superior to my pets because I provide for their survival (among other reasons). Are dogs and cats any different? Animal rights are just another distraction to prevent people from thinking about mens rights. Act like a PETA member if you want, I won't.

Animal "Rights" is humorous since rights come with responsibilities. In this way animal rights are no different than feminism' idea of womens rights (ie, rights without responsibilities).
Animal rights, what a joke.
My Board: Antifeministing
The story we're discussing has to do with both men's rights and animal rights. An angry ex-girlfriend tried to have an animal killed just to spite a man. Thus, it is relevant to talk about animals and how much they mean to us. When you hear about a child almost dying, don't you thank your lucky stars that the child's okay, and that your children are okay? In the same way, when I hear a story like this, it makes me glad that the dog is safe, as is my cat.
As Roy said, animals are also valid because for some of us, they provide us with some joy. Depression is a huge problem among men, as we're much more likely to suffer from it than women. Thus, talking about what brings us joy is just another weapon against the despair and injustice that feminism brings.
As for feminists being like animals, I disagree. The difference between feminists and animals is that animals show affection and appreciation for what you give them. They also accept you for who you are, and don't treat you like you're inferior because you're male.
Lighten up, man. Not everything is a call-out for an alley fight.
How would you wish for people to address your ideas?
In order to diminish the need for ad hominem back-and-forth silliness, and avoid hurting your feelings? (Mine were armored long ago, so even the "old man" and "daughter owner" schticks I find really amusing. Reminds me of inefficient feminist "shame-and-blame" tactics.)
And of course, most importantly, how could we collaborate to promote a more serious focus on men's issues?
Animals deserve rights. Maybe not some of the same as human beings i.e. voting, because that would be completely pointless. But I think animals have a right to exist and a right to not be treated cruelly. I don't see how I'm any less of an MRA for advocating this.

In our feminized society
In our feminized society animals are treated better than men and MRA's are ok with this! One can only laugh.

I Respectfully Disagree
"Animal rights are just another distraction to prevent people from thinking about mens rights. Act like a PETA member if you want, I won't." [Garak]
First off I'm affiliated with the ASPCA.
I support mens rights as much as anyone else affiliated with MANN.
Based on your comment should society ignore the rights of animals simply because misandry is embedded in our culture?
I don't see how a group like PETA detracts or prevents people from thinking about issues that affect men?
Animal rights is a matter of humanity.
I'll go a step further and suggest male rights are not the only thing I'm concerned about throughout our society.
I don't take a militant approach to this movement and am not blinded towards other issues of importance.
Should I stop contributing to the Red Cross? Should I ignore the environment? Should I ignore the rights of children? [both boys and girls equally]
Now I realize animal rights doesn't compare with the value of children but the premise remains the same.
Bottom line: My cats actually offer me a level of happiness.
Happiness should be an MRA issue. Regardless of how we attain it.

It seems you've found a way to draw an analogy between animals and feminists.
I'll look past the fact your philosophy makes no sense. Keep on trying, you'll catch on eventually.

Ok fine, show me where in the US Constitution it gives animals rights and I will start taking my birds to vote. Deal?
