Boy, 10, Escapes as Mother Drives Her Family Into Hudson

Story here. Excerpt:

'A 10-year-old boy escaped and swam ashore after his mother deliberately drove their minivan off a boat ramp and into the Hudson River in Newburgh, N.Y., on Tuesday night, the police said. The mother and three younger children who were trapped in the minivan died.

The police said the driver’s-side window was down when the doomed minivan was towed from the water, suggesting that the boy, identified as La’Shaun Armstrong, had crawled past his mother as he scrambled to get out.

Michael Ferrara, the Newburgh police chief, identified the mother as LaShanda Armstrong, 25. Inside, along with Ms. Armstrong, were her three young children, identified by the police as Landen Pierre, 5; Lance Pierre, 2; and Lainaina Pierre, 11 months old. All had died, Chief Ferrara said.

WSJ: There Is No Male-Female Wage Gap

Article here. Excerpt:

'Tuesday is Equal Pay Day—so dubbed by the National Committee for Pay Equity, which represents feminist groups including the National Organization for Women, Feminist Majority, the National Council of Women's Organizations and others. The day falls on April 12 because, according to feminist logic, women have to work that far into a calendar year before they earn what men already earned the year before.

In years past, feminist leaders marked the occasion by rallying outside the U.S. Capitol to decry the pernicious wage gap and call for government action to address systematic discrimination against women. This year will be relatively quiet. Perhaps feminists feel awkward protesting a liberal-dominated government—or perhaps they know that the recent economic downturn has exposed as ridiculous their claims that our economy is ruled by a sexist patriarchy.

Men’s Shelter Gets Government Grant in Canada

Article here. Excerpt:

'This past week, Earl Silverman’s DV shelter in Calgary announced that it took in and housed its first male victim that had been both referred and funded by a $1,000 grant from the local provincial government. This is a huge deal in Canada. For the first time, a Canadian government agency has recognized male victimization from female-perpetrated violence, funded a male victim with a grant, and referred him to a shelter that it recognizes as legitimate and worthy of funding. Outstanding, Earl Silverman. I hope that the man who sought out your help is able to pick up his life and carry on, and thanks to your help and the assistance of the provincial government he has a solid shot at doing just that.'

UK: Teenage girls are targeted by 'new generation of domestic abusers', top prosecutor warns

Article here. Excerpt:

'A new generation of wife beaters have made teenage girls the most likely targets for their abuse, a top prosecutor has warned.

Women aged between 16 and 19 are now more at risk than any other age group as part of a 'whole new generation of domestic violence', Keir Starmer, Director of Public Prosecutions, said.

In a bid to tackle abuse, every domestic murder in England and Wales will be automatically reviewed from today to ensure lessons are learned.'

'They want their men back': Syrian women protest mass arrests

Story here. Excerpt:

'AMMAN — Hundreds of women from a Syrian town that has witnessed mass arrests of its men marched along Syria's main coastal highway on Wednesday to demand their release, human rights activists said.

The women from Baida were marching on the main highway leading to Turkey chanting slogans to demand the release of some 350 men, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.'

Nova Scotia: Hitmen an option for battered women to use

Article here. Don't go to the police if you're being abused! Just hire a hitman! Excerpt:

'Battered women have won an important legal victory after Nova Scotia’s highest court concluded a woman “living in a state of terror” was understandably driven to try to arrange for her abusive husband’s murder.

In the landmark decision, the court said the law must be sensitive to the unique plight of women whose lives and well-being are endangered by brutal spouses.

The judges upheld the acquittal of 39-year-old school teacher Nicole Ryan, who had negotiated with an undercover police officer to kill her grossly abusive, estranged husband.

“Ms. Ryan was compelled to take the action she did by normal human instincts and self-preservation,” the judges said in a 3-0 decision. “It would be inappropriate, under these circumstances, to attribute criminal conduct to her.”'

Homeless men paid to get beaten up by women for video sales

This story shocks me. Homeless men were paid peanuts to get beaten to a pulp by women on video so the videos can be sold on a fetish site. What's the betting they were quietly told not to hit back? Excerpt:

'A video company paid homeless men $US50 to be filmed while scantily clad women punched, kicked and whipped them, according to a lawsuit filed in a Florida court.

Lawyers for two homeless men said the website www.shefights.net sells videos on the internet of the so-called "beatdowns," starting at $US2.99 for a two-minute "sparring session" clip and increasing in price to $US33.99 for a 33 minute clip of two women beating a man.

The lawsuit contends the beatings violate a state hate crimes law that specifically protects the homeless and that the producers are exploiting the poverty of transients for whom any cash is hard to come by.

"What type of society would allow this to happen?" said Neil Chonin, the lawyer for the homeless men. "This company preyed on people who are desperate."'

Female reporter denied access to men's locker room

A female sports reporter was denied access to the men's locker room at the Augusta National Golf Club. She makes quite a ruckus about equal access, and how this is unfair. These complaints are so hypocritical. Male sports reporters are not allowed in women player's locker rooms. This incident reveals how totally whipped American males are. American men give American women anything they want, no matter what the personal price may be: "Personal privacy? ... Oh, OK, I'll give that up too in the name of "feminism" and their definition of equal access" (no matter how twisted that may be). Excerpt:

'(CNN) -- A female sports reporter blasted the all-male Augusta National Golf Club on Monday, a day after a security guard wouldn't let her in to interview one of the stars of the recent Masters tournament.

UK: Fire brigade relaxes strength and fitness test to make entry easier for women

Article here. Excerpt:

'Fire chiefs have made the 'ladder lifting' tests that all new recruits must go through easier to allow more women and less-strong men into the service.

Previously, potential firefighters had to extend a 100kg ladder by themselves in 20 seconds to qualify.

However, now they are only required to life a 30kg weight over their head.

Strenuous runs, where candidates had to complete increasing fast sprints in what's known as a 'beep test,' have also been scrapped, along with having to carry a 12 stone person 100 yards in less than a minute.'

NCFM helps the San Diego YMCA to Stop Charging Boys More than Girls for Skateboarding

Article here. Excerpt:

'One of our NCFM members discovered that the YMCA was charging boys more than girls for skateboarding at the YMCA’s skateboard park. Our Secretary Al Rava investigated and we thought it best to send the “Y” a letter.

The YMCA for decades has provided a wide range of beneficial services to the young and old. We felt it would be in their best interests to discontinue such discrimination since it’s illegal in California and they could be sued, which would necessarily mean less money for programs.
...
Dear Mr. Crouch:

Upon receipt of your letter, the Mission Valley YMCA discontinued promoting its skate park to girls by offering a discounted admission fee. The sole purpose of such discount was to encourage girls to engage in a sport that has long been male dominated. We will find an alternative approach to promote gender equality.'

The swearing in, which was presided over by Chief Justice Aloysia Cyanzayire, also saw the swearing-in of Sam Kanyemera Kaka as a Commissioner in the National Human Rights Commission.

Cyanzayire urged Barengayabo to always strive to promote gender.

"Gender equality is a cross-cutting issue; we should not only promote women's rights, whenever men's rights are violated you should also intervene. What we are targeting is a totally balanced society," Cyanzayire said.'

India: Female pilot gets bail while male pilots rot in jail

This is just one example of blatant sexism by the Indian judiciary. Excerpt:

'Moving the bail application, the accused stated that she was a 40-year-old unmarried woman who was the only support for her aged parents. Counsel Aggarwal also stated that the women in the country should be given a special status and the accused being an unmarried woman could not be kept in jail.

Allowing the plea, ASJ Bhatnagar said, "Since the accused is a female and she has already joined the investigation and her custodial interrogation is not required... it is hereby ordered that in the event of arrest, the accused be released on bail."'
