Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Mamet gave his two cents on the subject of community control of education, after Florida passed a so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which bans sexual orientation or gender from being taught to children under 10.

“We have to take back control,” Mamet said. “If there’s no community control of the schools, what we have is kids being not only indoctrinated but groomed in a very real sense by people who are, whether they know it or not, sexual predators.

“Are they abusing the kids physically? No, I don’t think so. But they’re abusing them mentally and using sex to do so,” he added.

'Plans for future legislation are part of the Scottish Government’s official response to the independent working group on misogyny.

A new Bill to tackle misogyny is being considered by Scottish Ministers as part of these proposals.

Chaired by Baroness Kennedy QC, the group’s report recommended a number of new offences to criminalise specific forms of misogynistic conduct – including stirring up hatred against women and public sexual harassment of women.

The Scottish Government has accepted the recommendations are pivotal in challenging misogyny and will develop draft legislative provisions for public consultation.

The timing of a final Bill will be considered as part of the Scottish Government’s future legislative programme.

'Teachers have debated how to tackle the growing problem of “incel” culture in schools, as seven in 10 said they have experienced misogyny at work.

At the NASUWT teaching union’s annual conference in Birmingham, teachers voted to lobby the Government to recognise misogyny as a hate crime, and for it to be compulsory for schools to teach pupils about sexism.

The motion originally called for the union to consider the incel movement – which stands for “involuntary celibate”, whose followers promote hatred of women online – to be recognised as an extremist group.'

'Defendants have filed a post-trial brief in a recent $5.3 million verdict in a defamation and civil conspiracy suit filed by a former Clemson University student who was accused of sexual misconduct in 2015.

Following a trial in late March, Andrew Pampu was awarded $5.3 million in damages against former Clemson students Erin Wingo, Colin Gahagan and Erin Wingo's father, David Wingo, according to a press release from Warshaw Burstein LLP, the law firm that handled Pampu's case.

The week-long trial included 10 witnesses disputing Erin Wingo's claim that she was too intoxicated to consent to sex, according to the news release.
