21-year-old Danielle Blankenship was arrested Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. on charges of cruelty to animals, third degree assault, and domestic violence. She is being held in the Boulder County Jail on $1,500 bond.

Police say they were responding to a domestic violence call in the 1100 block of 30th St. Tuesday morning after Blankenship’s boyfriend called police to report that she hit him in the face.

On July 5, 2011, at 1:15 pm CST, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of first degree murder in the death of her daughter Caylee Anthony. The only charges she now faces are four counts of falsifying police reports, each of which only carries a 1 year prison term. Since she has been in jail since August 2008, she will be out of jail ENTIRELY too soon.

I'm writing to propose that a new law be put into effect making it a felony for a parent, legal guardian, or caretaker to not notify law enforcement of the disappearance of a child within 24 hours, so proper steps can be taken to find that child before it's too late.

This way there will be no more cases like Casey Anthony's in the courts, and no more innocent children will have to go without justice.

The case of Caylee Anthony was tragic, and there is no reason for another case like this one to hit the courts. Let's do what is necessary to prevent another case like this from happening.'

Priscilla Ramirez, 21, could have been sentenced to as much as 32 years to life for her convictions on two counts of second-degree murder. Ramirez made the false rape allegation to her cousin, Philip Perez Gonzales Jr. The cousin and a friend of his, Michael Lee Armstrong, then went over to the Seavey Circle apartment of her boyfriend, Everett Antonio Taylor, 28, on July 21, 2009, to rough him up. On Monday, July 11, SAVE will unveil much-needed and long-overdue reforms to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The Partner Violence Reduction Act (PVRA) addresses lack of due process, gender bias, loose definitions, false allegations and more.

The Partner Violence Reduction Act:

1. Gives first priority to real victims and reduces false allegations by narrowing definitions and distinguishing between "alleged" victims and "adjudicated" victims.

Over 11,500 victims have signed a petition demanding to know why shelters are "refusing victims the resources and services they desperately need."

2. Makes the law gender-inclusive and bans discriminatory policies.

The 2005 renewal of VAWA states: "Nothing in this title shall be construed to prohibit male victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking from receiving benefits and services under this title." Six years later, rampant gender bias continues unchecked.

3. Removes harmful mandatory arrest, predominant aggressor, and no-drop prosecution policies, thus helping to restore due process.
