'South Korea's capital Seoul is removing women-only parking spaces, 14 years after they were introduced as a protection for women.

The women-only spots had been instated in 2009 after a spate of violent crimes in basement car parks.

But city officials say such spaces aren't necessary anymore and will be converted to family parking spots.

Critics say their removal is just the latest example of anti-feminist policies in South Korea.

Chung Eun-jung, 55, said she uses the female spaces whenever she can find one: "I feel safer when I use them, that there are not so many dangerous people close by."

Council voted unanimously Feb. 15 to censure Commissioner Kylie Clark, an action that serves as a formal disapproval of her comments.

Clark emailed the state Department of Housing and Community Development last November to notify leaders of the referendum on the town’s 2040 General Plan, and said it was “paid for and passed by the rich, white, anti-housing men in our town.”

Members of the public complained to town staff about Clark’s email, saying it negatively impacted the town during the Housing Element process, represented the town poorly and used “racist” and “biased” language.'

'A Franklin County jury on Thursday found two former Ohio State University football players not guilty of raping a female student in 2020 at a Northwest Side apartment. Amir I. Riep and Jahsen L. Wint, both 24, were defensive players for the football team when a then-19-year-old woman in her freshman year at Ohio State accused them of raping her on Feb. 4, 2020.

The jury found them not guilty on all charges: two counts each of rape and one count each of kidnapping.

Riep and Wint broke down crying and embraced after the jury verdict was read.

Defense attorneys Dan Sabol and Sam Shamansky, who represented Riep and Wint, respectively, argued during the trial that the woman had consensual sex with both men but regretted it afterward, and accused the victim's father of pushing his daughter and authorities to pursue criminal charges.'

On Jan. 1, a complaint was filed against Dauber citing numerous incidents meant to prompt a probe, including the professor’s denouncement of Johnny Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez.

The Stanford law professor called Vasquez on Twitter a “Pick Me Girl” and accused Vasquez of throwing all women “under the bus” for defending the actor against sexual assault allegations.

The complaint also cites tweets in which “Dauber also made lurid death threats against Johnny Depp, fantasizing about Depp’s murder – and his corpse being devoured by rats.”

The complaint also alleges Dauber issued “a veiled threat” against a male student online, supposedly implying Dauber “would press false sexual violence charges against him.”
