‘Wealthy White Men’ Most Likely to 'Repeatedly Violate the Rights of Others,' University of Texas Psych Quiz States

Article here. Excerpt:

'A University of Texas psychology professor is apologizing to her students after including a question on a quiz that stated "wealthy white men" are "most likely to repeatedly violate the rights of others."

The quiz was a part of Professor Kirsten Bradbury’s Personality Psychology course and asked students which demographic is most likely to be diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder.

After stipulating the disease itself is "a racist diagnosis in the way that it has been applied," Bradbury’s quiz stated: "Neither race nor gender is determinative in Antisocial Personality Disorder. However, if we must go there, which sociodemographic group is most likely to repeatedly violate the rights of others in a pattern of behavior that includes violence, deceit, irresponsibility, and a lack of remorse?" The answer: wealthy white men.

Putin signs a tough new military draft law, banning conscripts from fleeing Russia

Article here. Excerpt:

'On a basic level, the new law makes it very difficult for Russians — mostly men but also women with specialized skills — to avoid being drafted or conscripted.

Until now, military recruitment officers have had to go in person to deliver a paper summons to a draftee's home or workplace.

That system will now be supplanted by electronic notifications — i.e. emails — issued through systems including the web portals that Russians use to pay their utility bills, taxes and other services.

The electronic notification will be binding from the moment the government hits send.

And with the new law, draftees are immediately banned from leaving the country.

Those who fail to show up at a recruitment office promptly will soon face a raft of new restrictions related to banking, selling property and even gaining access to a driver's license.

Already before the reform, people who refused orders to serve in the military have faced a possible prison sentence of up to 10 years.'

Rep. Katie Porter scalded ex-husband’s scalp with potatoes: documents

Article here. Excerpt:

'The former husband of Rep. Katie Porter said the California Democrat frequently abused him verbally and threw “toys, books and other objects” at him during their marriage — even pouring scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head during a fight, according to divorce records.

Matthew Hoffman, who filed for divorce from Porter in 2013, said in a request for a restraining order dated April 30 of that year that he was “routinely” called a “f—ing idiot” and “f—ing incompetent” by his rage-prone spouse, who also shattered a glass coffee pot on their kitchen counter in March 2012 when she felt their house wasn’t clean enough.

Massachusetts now discriminates against white males who want to start a non-profit

Article here. Excerpt:

'In Massachusetts, you can start a non-profit with a board that is 100% women and/or designated minority members, but the board can’t be more than 49% white male.

For nearly a decade, my brother and I have helped thousands of cats and dogs return home. With the help of our followers, I used the New Bedford Guide and New Bedford Pet Detective Facebook pages to reunite missing pets with their owners. I feel we’ve done a lot of good for the community and decided to look into starting a non-profit to raise funds to boost the posts on Facebook and potentially add a paid person to assist. We’ve never taken a penny and have dedicated countless of hours to the cause.

After two minutes of research and to my surprise, white males can’t be the majority of a new non-profit in Massachusetts. To start a non-profit, we’d have to give up complete control of the cause to other people because we are white men.'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Penn State University’s Gender Equity Center recently hosted a far-left race activist who has a history of racially insensitive and antisemitic comments.

The Daily Collegian reports Feminista Jones (pictured), an “educator, feminist writer, public speaker, community activist, and retired social worker” according to her website, spoke about how “preventions demand equity” for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Jones told her April 3 audience that the “standard of masculinity put forth by white men” is responsible for males’ desire to control women and hence “elevated rates of sexual violence.”'

As number of women rises in higher ed, free speech declines on campuses: survey

Article here. Excerpt:

'As the number of women in higher education continues to rise, free speech on college campuses declines, said Professor Samuel Abrams, a social scientist at Sarah Lawrence College.

Abrams determined the trend by analyzing the results of a nationwide survey of faculty conducted by the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, pointing out that compared to male counterparts, female scholars are more likely to agree with suppressing and punishing unpopular speech.

“Fifty-one percent of women professors reported that they could envision shouting down a speaker to prevent them from speaking on campus as being acceptable, compared to just 39 percent of men,” Abrams wrote in a March 24 piece for the American Enterprise Institute, where he serves as a senior fellow.

For white male professors who refuse diversity training, almost half of female professors “believe their male counterparts should face some sort of sanction,” he wrote.

Single-Sex Spaces for Me, But Not for Thee

Article here. Excerpt:

'There has been a good deal of talk lately about women’s spaces being invaded by biologically male persons identifying as women. Some women’s campaigners claim that the trans phenomenon constitutes an attack on womanhood itself, an attempt to “erase” women and replace them with men who perform womanhood. Some even call it a new form of patriarchy.

Florida woman found with 24 pipe bombs pleads guilty to avoid jail, focus on mental health

Article here. Excerpt:

'A Florida woman who was found with 24 homemade pipe bombs and a hit list pleaded guilty Wednesday to avoid prison, and will instead receive mental health treatment.

Michelle Kolts pleaded guilty in a Tampa courtroom to reduce charges following her 2019 arrest. She was originally charged with 24 counts of making, possessing and discharging a destructive device.

"Twenty-four months of community control followed by 15 years probation," prosecutor Lindsey Hodges said, Fox Tampa reported.

Authorities found 24 homemade bombs in Kolts' bedroom in the home she shared with her parents in October 2019. The devices were filled with nails, screws, and pellets, along with materials to make more bombs, and books about terrorist bombings. Also found was a hit list.

Kolts was arrested on charges that could have landed her in prison for 100 years. However, in 2019, she was found unfit to stand trial following years of mental health evaluations and treatment. She was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Spain approves draft law for gender quotas in business and politics

Article here. Excerpt:

'The draft law requires political parties to field an equal number of male and female candidates during elections, whether national or municipal. Women now make up 43% of Spain’s congress and 40% of its senate.

Parties that lead central government will have to appoint a cabinet that includes at least 40% of each gender. The Socialist-led government counts 14 women among its 23 cabinet ministers, slightly more than 60%.

Publicly listed companies will have until mid-2024 to ensure corporate boards include at least 40% of the “underrepresented sex”, said Calviño. Companies with more than 250 workers and annual turnover that exceeds €50m will have until 2026 to do the same.'

The war on ‘toxic masculinity’ makes struggling boys, men prey for Andrew Tate

Article here. Excerpt:

'The answer may be that boys have been left to fail.

Although our society has been rightfully concerned with the advancement of girls and women over the past several decades, we’ve simultaneously ignored glaring warning signs that something is wrong with boys.

On educational, economic and health metrics alike, they’ve been falling further and further behind women.

As parents, partners and friends, we should all be coming together to discuss why our young men and boys are struggling.

But, instead, we find ourselves embroiled in a culture war over toxic masculinity that leaves no one speaking to boys’ plights.

In fact, they’re being beaten over the head with overtly anti-male rhetoric that asserts just about any of society’s ills can be blamed on men.

Headlines like “Toxic Masculinity Is Killing Us” and “Toxic Masculinity Is Costing Us About $15.7 Billion Every Single Year” and book titles like “How to Date Men When You Hate Men” are countless.

Malta: Femicide law to be tested in constitutional challenge claiming it is discriminatory

Article here. Excerpt:

'Lawyers representing the first man to be accused of the new offence of femicide, after shooting his wife dead last year, are questioning its constitutionality.

This emerges from an application to the First Hall of the Civil Court in its constitutional jurisdiction, which was filed this morning on behalf of Roderick Cassar.

Cassar, 42, from Qrendi is currently the subject of criminal proceedings, in which he is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Bernice Cassar, from close range at the Corradino industrial estate in Paola, not far from her workplace.
...
"Why is the murder of a woman, committed under one of the circumstances mentioned in Article 211A [rendering it wilful femicide], is taken to be worse than the murder of a man carried out in identical circumstances.” The same was argued about the harsher punishment.'

ChatGPT Falsely Accused Jonathan Turley of Sexual Harassment

Article here. Excerpt:

'Fox News contributor and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley is raising the alarm about the dangers of artificial intelligence’s (AI) political bias and false claims after he was wrongly accused of sexual harassment by ChatGPT. AI could be a real threat to free speech, he said.
...
Turley wrote an April 3 piece for USA Today titled, “ChatGPT falsely accused me of sexually harassing my students. Can we really trust AI?” Turley wrote, “What is most striking is that this false accusation was not just generated by AI but ostensibly based on a Washington Post article that never existed.” [Emphasis added]. AI seemingly generated false accusations for two other law professors, too, Turley added.

Turley aptly noted that, “The use of AI and algorithms can give censorship a false patina of science and objectivity.” But, as he put it, “AI and AI algorithms are no less biased and flawed than the people who program them.”'
