‘Birthgap’ producer touted by Jordan Peterson canceled at Cambridge; film shut down, called misogynistic

Article here. Excerpt:

'Cambridge University recently canceled a film screening of “Birthgap – Childless World” and discussion with the film’s writer, director and producer, Stephen Shaw, after protesters called his theories regarding the steep decrease in human birth rates sexist and misogynistic.

The event was scheduled for May 12 at the college’s St. John campus until administrators abruptly canceled the showing less than 48 hours before the start time.

“We are confused why anyone would want to protest about a film which simply conveys hard data on birthrate trends and contains the voices of people, mostly women, from around the world,” Shaw told The College Fix in an email.

The protesters claimed Shaw’s film echoed “misogyny,” “transphobia,” “homophobia” and “racism” and cited Shaw’s appearance on popular psychologist Jordan Peterson’s show to justify their distaste for the speaker, according to Bentley-Astor’s Twitter.'

‘Bromance’ classes will fight ‘toxic masculinity’ in schools: teacher

Article here. Excerpt:

'An important course is missing from school education: Bromance 101.

A teacher and author argues that schools should provide “lessons in bromance” to help focus on the mental-health crisis among boys.

Matt Pinkett, an English teacher who challenges champions of “toxic masculinity,” believes that teenage boys should be exposed to good models for a “bromance” with close, strong, male friendships through characters such as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, or Frodo and Sam from “Lord of the Rings.”

In his new book, “Boys Do Cry: Improving Boys’ Mental Health and Wellbeing in Schools,” Pinkett expresses the importance of the “emotional openness” of male friendships — but warns that the men learned about in school literature are often not “great examples of male kindness” and most of them are “tools.”

For example, Macbeth “kills a lot of people” and Ebenezer Scrooge is “a bit of a numpty” throughout most of “A Christmas Carol.”

Louisiana advances bill to make fathers share costs of pregnancy

Article here. Excerpt:

'A bill that would allow mothers to recover half of out-of-pocket, pregnancy-related medical expenses from the father of their child cleared another hurdle Tuesday.

House Bill 5, by Rep. Lawrence “Larry” Frieman, R-Abita Springs, moved forward from the Senate Judiciary A Committee. It is one of several bills filed this session to address the realities of post-Roe v. Wade in Louisiana.

Mark Mansfield, who has practiced family law in St. Tammany Parish for more than 20 years, said he began talking about legislation like this with fellow lawyers around the time of the Supreme Court decision that triggered a near-total abortion ban in the state last summer.

“For those of those that are pregnant, we want to give them a chance to recover the expenses the same way they can do when the child is alive,” Mansfield said.

And the same way that paternity must be proved for women to receive child support, it must be proven to recover the pregnancy expenses.'

Little known Florida list makes it easier to remove an unmarried birth father's rights

Article here. Excerpt:

'A Tampa father is fighting to be a parent to his 5-year-old daughter, who was taken by an adoption agency two days after she was born without his knowledge or consent.

“I think that they took a lot from me. A lot from me. I miss my baby, my daughter growing up," Ulysess Carwise said. "She’s five now. She just had a birthday.”

From the time she was born, Carwise told the Florida Department of Children and Families he wanted his daughter. But he needed to prove he was the father and establish his rights because the child's mother, who put the baby up for adoption without his consent, weren't married.

The state's Department of Health website states, "The purpose of the registry is to permit a man alleging to be the unmarried biological father of a child to preserve his right to notice and consent in the event of an adoption."

America's Manhood Crisis

Article here. Excerpt:

'Much has been said in recent years of the divisions in American society, the dangers to our democracy, and our growing polarization. Surely it is no coincidence that these ills have proliferated while American men have struggled. As the anthropologist David Gilmore once wrote, "Manhood is the social barrier that societies must erect against entropy, human enemies, the forces of nature, time, and all the human weaknesses" that threaten social life. No menace to this nation is greater than the collapse of American manhood, the collapse of masculine strength.

US Merchant Marine Academy official under fire for tweet on 'white, male' roots of racism, misogyny

Article here. Excerpt:

'A U.S. Merchant Marine Academy official is under fire for a series of racially charged tweets – including one in which he attributes misogyny and racism to "the same white, male root."

Anton Tripolskii, who was hired at the Kings Point, New York, school as its $142,595-per-year sexual assault response director, sent a June 2020 tweet that's now at the target of a scathing letter from the U.S. House's Anti-Woke Woke Caucus.

"We don’t have forces who do right by survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence because we don’t have forces who don’t abuse Brown and Black people," Tripolskii wrote in the controversial tweet. "Same forces, same reasons. Misogyny and racism grow from the same white, male root."'

Prosecutors indicate that Bills punter whose life was ruined over rape accusation went home long before incident allegedly occurred

Article here. Excerpt:

'A pro football player accused of rape had his career upended and life ruined over something prosecutors now indicate he could not possibly have done.

Matt Araiza was a top punter in the NFL whose record-breaking NCAA career secured him the nickname "Punt God." Last summer, Araiza was accused along with two San Diego State University football players of gang-raping a 17-year-old at an off-campus party in 2021.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Araiza was accused of having sex with the minor outside the home and then bringing her inside, where she was allegedly repeatedly raped for over an hour.

This week, Yahoo Sports provided detail concerning a newly revealed 200-plus page transcript of a 100-minute meeting in which San Diego Deputy District Attorney Trisha Amador explained the matter to the accuser and her attorneys.

A Boy Raised as a Girl Killed Himself 19 Years Ago Today

Article here. Excerpt:

'David, born Bruce, lost his penis to a botched circumcision as an infant in 1966. After this event, his parents, Janet and Ron, though they lived in Canada, were referred to the leading “sexologist” at the time, John Money. Money was a psychologist who ran a clinic at Johns Hopkins University, where surgeons performed pediatric genital constructions. Genitals, then and now, are what we rely on to define an infant’s sex. It’s easier to "make a hole" than to "build a pole,” as one surgeon put it, so Money advised that Bruce be castrated and have his genitals modified to look as typically female as possible, then be raised as a girl, while keeping the real story secret.'
