Lawsuits against uni allege bias against males in sex assault cases

Article here. Excerpt:

'Two lawsuits have been filed against the University of Texas by plaintiff’s who say they were expelled from the university after being accused in sexual assault investigations. They claim the university’s Title IX investigators showed bias against male students by recommending their expulsion without giving them the proper due process.

A passage in the lawsuit says the university has sought publicity and prestige by portraying itself as a national leader in the effort to curb on-campus sexual assault, “The university has a vested interest in expelling as many male students for sexual assault as it can in order to maintain its appearance as a leader in this area.”

"Wanted in China: More Male Teachers, to Make Boys Men"

Article here. Seriously, *puke*. "Wanted: Teachers to teach girls that protecting/providing for men is womanly". No time soon. Excerpt:

'Lin Wei, 27, one of a handful of male sixth-grade teachers at a primary school here, has made a habit of telling stories about warlords who threw witches into rivers and soldiers who outsmarted Japanese troops. “Men have special duties,” he said. “They have to be brave, protect women and take responsibility for wrongdoing.”

Worried that a shortage of male teachers has produced a generation of timid, self-centered and effeminate boys, Chinese educators are working to reinforce traditional gender roles and values in the classroom.

More silliness, now from Madeleine Albright

Egad, it's a pandemic! Well, maybe it's not that bad, but the stench of feminist desperation is wafting madly from the Pro-Hildebeast crowd. Now, it's coming from a source I wasn't expecting (and someone who really ought to know better). Here goes:

'Democratic women are issuing every threat imaginable in their effort to save Hillary Clinton’s candidacy in New Hampshire.

During an appearance with the candidate Saturday afternoon, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright warned women of dire consequences if they don’t support her preferred candidate.

Attempting to sway young women to support Hillary, Albright said, “We can tell our story about how we climbed the ladder and a lot of you younger women don’t think you have to — it’s been done — it’s not done and you have to help. Hillary Clinton will always be there for you.

“And just remember: there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other,” she said.

Hillary burst out laughing as the audience cheered.

Gloria Steinem throws herself into the dustbin of history

I knew eventually the insufferable old hag would shoot herself in the foot and with this, she's succeeded. She'll never live it down (like she hasn't the many other stupid things she's said) but this one limes the coconut with her own ideological great-grand-daughters. Hope they etch it on her gravestone as her epitaph, right next to the other ridiculous things she's blathered, so posterity can march past it, take a gander, and ask "Who was this nutcase and why did anyone ever put up with her in the first place?". Excerpt:

'Feminist icon Gloria Steinem has drawn the wrath of the Twitterverse for suggesting that young women supporting Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign are doing so to gain the attention of men.

“When you’re young, you’re thinking, ‘Where are the boys? The boys are with Bernie,'” Steinem told Bill Maher Friday night on the comic’s HBO show “Real Time.”

Court kills bid to reverse decision that made college co-ed

Story here. Excerpt:

'Saying they lack legal standing to contest the change, a Commonwealth Court panel Thursday dismissed a bid by four alumnae of Wilson College to reverse the decision that made the private school co-ed.

The state court ruling comes 2 1/2 years after the first male residential students started living and learning at the Franklin County school which had been a women-only institution for 144 years.

Paula Tishok, Gretchen Van Ness, Kendal L. Hopkins and Melissa Behm had appealed to Commonwealth Court to overturn approval the state Department of Education gave to allow the admission of men.

Theirs were not the only voices raised in protest after trustees of the Chambersburg school, citing declining enrollment and debt load, voted in January 2013 to begin accepting male students. The first three men moved into the dorms in August of that year.'

UK: Men who report domestic violence ‘at risk of being arrested themselves’

Story here. Excerpt:

'Male victims of domestic abuse often avoid reporting attacks because they fear being arrested themselves.

More than 700,000 men are thought to experience violence from a partner every year – but new research has shown that they risk counter-accusations.

Dr Jessica McCarrick, a senior lecturer in Counselling Psychology at Teeside University, carried out a study with male victims of abuse. Men are often treated with suspicion by the criminal justice system, she told the Telegraph.

‘To find the courage to speak out, only to be accused of violence themselves, is incredibly disheartening and ultimately prevents countless men from reporting intimate partner violence,’ she said.'

UK: County struggles with DV vs. men

Article here. Excerpt:

'Authorities in an English county are desperately trying to tackle the country's highest rate of domestic violence against men.

Nationally, the number of women killed through domestic violence is more than double that of men.

But in Cornwall, men made up four out of the five most recent victims.

Authorities there said they have been working to tackle the issue after a review said there could be a "chink in the chain of support for males".

Nationwide, the majority of fatal domestic abuse cases are killings by current or former partners, including heterosexual and homosexual couples.

But the figures also include family members such as siblings and parents - in accordance with the government's definition of domestic abuse.

One of the few male-only refuges nationally was introduced in Cornwall just over a year ago, in a secret location.'

Domestic violence allegations leave a tangled web

Article here. Excerpt:

'Gordon Smith was at the lowest point of his life three years ago. He was divorced, had multiple restraining orders — called an Order of Protection From Abuse in Delaware — against him and one felony and seven misdemeanor charges pending.

Then, his ex-wife leveled another accusation of domestic violence. This time, the Dover Police Department found that his court-ordered GPS ankle monitor put him miles away from his ex-wife at the time she said the violence occurred, he said.

After an investigation, the police swiftly cleared him of all eight charges and instead charged his ex-wife with three counts of falsely reporting an incident and one count of providing a false statement.
...
Smith is part of a small but vocal group of men and women who say Orders of Protection From Abuse are being misused to unfairly sway divorce and child custody cases in Delaware Family Court, and give credibility to unsubstantiated or false allegations.

Hillary used to support registering women for the draft, now she’s not sure

Article here. Excerpt:

'Hillary Clinton, the ultimate girl-power activist, once backed registering women for the draft — but now she won’t take a position on the issue.

At a town hall forum Wednesday night in New Hampshire, Clinton punted on a question from CNN host Anderson Cooper on whether she supports a recommendation this week from leaders of the Army and Marine Corps that women should register like men.

“I have to think about whether I think it’s necessary to go as far as our military officers are recommending,” Clinton responded.

“You know, from my perspective, the all-volunteer military has worked, and we should not do anything that undermines it because it has provided a solid core of people who are willing to serve our country. The idea of having everybody register concerns me a little bit, unless we have a better idea of where that’s going to come out.”'

Young Women in NH ‘Offended’ Clinton Using Gender as Political Tool

Story here. Excerpt:

'Young women in New Hampshire were offended by the way Hillary Clinton uses her gender to garner support, an MSNBC survey revealed Friday.

When MSNBC anchor Tamron Hall asked young female voters about Hillary Clinton’s claim on Wednesday that she is not an establishment candidate because she is a woman, they responded negatively.

One of the respondents said that she did not like how Clinton assumed that her feminism was identical to the feminism of all women.

“I also am a woman. I also face discrimination as being a woman. Her feminism does not represent my feminism, and I think it’s really important to differentiate that,” one young woman said. Her complaint is a common one among young women and reveals a generational divide within the Democratic Party.'

Tech drops $47M building request after rebukes on students’ due process

Article here. Excerpt:

'A week after state lawmakers reprimanded Georgia Tech for its due-process practices in punishing students accused of sexual assault and other violations, the university withdrew its request for a $47.4 million library complex renovation.

The Tech money, which was slated for the first phase of renovation of the Crosland Tower and Price Gilbert Library, known as Library East and Library West, was the largest construction project the state’s university system requested in its budget proposal to lawmakers.
...
Ehrhart, R-Powder Springs, said he did not encourage Tech to withdraw its building request, but felt the withdrawal was a clear consequence of last week’s hearing before lawmakers.

The Tech funding withdrawal came as state lawmakers questioned University System officials on their handling of sexual assault on Georgia’s college campuses.'

Exclusive New Docs Throw Doubt on Julian Assange Rape Charges in Stockholm

Article here. Excerpt:

'When Ms. Ardin learned Mr. Assange had also slept with Ms. Wilen, and when he failed the golden rule of elemental post-coital communications, they locked arms and went to the police—not to charge him with rape, but to see if he could be compelled to take an HIV test, on a Saturday, in Stockholm.

The report contains several testimonies—Ms. Ardin, Ms. Wilen, two Swedish male journalists, Ms. Wilen’s ex boyfriend, brother, and several friends and colleagues of the two women. Finally, Mr. Assange himself. It closes with grainy photographs of a broken condom, as well as a condom tip—and the forensic analysis of experts from “Staten’s Kriminaltekniska Laboratorium” (The State’s Criminal Technological Laboratory)—offering forensic results about the exact conditions along the broken edge of the condom. (Ruled not to have been broken by an “instrument,” but to have failed by natural means.)

After the incidents for which he is wanted for questioning took place, in mid August, 2010, Mr. Assange remained in Sweden for five weeks, until September 27, during which time Swedish prosecutors once dropped the case altogether, only to re-open it days later. Prosecutor Marianne Ny was quoted in the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter as having said: “Even if I’m wrong I won’t give up.”
...
Mr. Assange’s first encounter was with Anna Ardin—an ardent feminist, Social Democrat, Christian, animal rights activist, pro-lifer, and scholar on Latin America. Ms. Ardin described herself online as somebody who, somewhat alarmingly, “burns for justice, solidarity, and equality,” and she once wrote a paper on “The 7 Steps To Revenge,” against men who “dump you.”

Asian American women are closing the gap with white men, but that’s not the point

Article here. Excerpt:

'On Monday, an economist at the right-leaning American Enterprise Institute had something snarky to say about a new government report on the gap between men's and women's earnings.

Economist Mark Perry wrote that the median Asian American woman earns only about 3 percent less than the median American man, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The median Asian American woman also earns significantly more than the median black or Hispanic man in the United

"Do those pay disparities reflect gender discrimination against men? Or minority (Asian) privilege?” Perry quipped.

Perry was making a point about how statistics on the gender pay gap tend to be deployed in misleading ways. Full-time working women may earn 79 cents on the dollar compared to men, according to the Census, but that figure doesn’t take into account the gender differences in education and career choices, among other things.'

Politicians call for reform of sexual assault guidelines

Article here. Excerpt:

'Due to the lack a lack of due process rights, politicians and professors are calling for reform of the handling of sexual assault cases on college campuses, but some say the guidelines may not be the problem.

Some politicians like Marco Rubio have made public their belief that due process rights are not being upheld, some going as far as to say that the campuses are siding with the victim before the investigation is completed or even started in one reported case.

Rubio issued a statement about his belief that false accusations can “destroy lives."

“Certainly we should make additional efforts to protect due process on campus,” Rubio said.
Others like Bernie Sanders had strong statements on sexual assault being handled by campuses as well, as he called for reform on Jan. 11.

“Rape is a terrible crime, and the way it’s handled on campuses is insulting,” Sanders said.'

Reps introduce bill requiring women to register for draft

Article here. Excerpt:

'Two Republican lawmakers introduced a bill Thursday requiring women to register for the draft – in a move meant to take the decision out of the hands of the military so it can be debated in Congress.

Reps. Duncan Hunter of California and Ryan Zinke of Montana said their joint legislation is aimed at provoking a fuller discussion of the Pentagon’s decision to open all combat jobs to women. Top generals for the Army and Marines said earlier this week that women should be required to register for the draft now that combat jobs are being opened to them.

“If this administration wants to send 18, 20-year-old women into combat, to serve and fight on the front lines, then the American people deserve to have this discussion through their elected representatives,” Hunter said in a statement.'
