'A Lynn University student is suing his school after he was suspended for one year for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student.
The suing student, identified in court documents as John Doe, attended a party while a freshmen where underage drinking was occurring. There he met a female student (who I'm not naming because she's not being sued and I'm not naming the accused) and the two began talking. Doe's lawsuit contends that she "showed no signs of being intoxicated."'

'Judges are elected in Arkansas. Obviously, the judge, who would eventually have to stand for re-election, chose to go totally counter to the practices of the day to do a favor for a politically important father by giving him joint custody. This is not the decision that a 1978 judge who was interested only in the best interest of the child, as it was then understood, would have made. Politics came first, just as considerations other than best interest of the child continue to come first today. For instance, the money and power of the bar associations continue to dominate the family courts and legislatures today, standing in the way of shared parenting in state after state despite the now-overwhelming evidence that it serves the best interest of children in most cases, and despite overwhelming popular support.
But Beshear was not satisfied with his extraordinary joint custody result and wanted more. Six months later, with 30 year old Clinton now as his lawyer, he sought sole custody of Bethany before Judge Royce Weisenberger.

'The Center for Prosecutor Integrity on Wednesday launched an initiative to combat false reports of sexual assault and the overcriminalization of sexual conduct.
The Wrongful Convictions of Sexual Assault Program aims to protect the due process rights of the accused, which are on shaky footing nationwide.
The program aggregates research on the rate of false accusations of sexual assault, noting that it is the second-most-common crime of which people are wrongfully convicted. The National Registry of Exonerations found that more than 270 people were exonerated last year after being wrongfully convicted of sexual assault.'

'Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton portrays herself as the victim of sexism, explaining during an interview that she suffers from it at her own campaign rallies.
She said that people would come up to her on the rope line and say, “‘I really admire you, I really like you, I just don’t know if I can vote for a woman to be president,’” she said in an interview with New York Magazine. “I mean, they come to my events and then they say that to me.”
She added she thinks Americans are afraid that a woman’s ambition would crowd out relationships, marriage, children, family, and home making.
“We’re so accustomed to think of women’s ambition being made manifest in ways that we don’t approve of, or that we find off-putting.”
She said that Americans viewed a woman’s ambition as “dangerous” and that men were “100 percent” afraid of the competition.
“That level of visceral … fear, anxiety, insecurity plays a role,” she said.'

'It is disturbing that some human rights and public health organizations are advocating the full legalization of the sex trade, including its most abusive aspects. I agree with Amnesty International, UNAIDS and other groups that say that those who sell sex acts should not be arrested or prosecuted, but I cannot support proposals to decriminalize buyers and pimps.
Some assert that this “profession” can be empowering and that legalizing and regulating all aspects of prostitution will mitigate the harm that accompanies it. But I cannot accept a policy prescription that codifies such a pernicious form of violence against women. Normalizing the act of buying sex also debases men by assuming that they are entitled to access women’s bodies for sexual gratification. If paying for sex is normalized, then every young boy will learn that women and girls are commodities to be bought and sold.'

'Today the Center for Prosecutor Integrity is launching a new initiative designed to address the over-criminalization of sexual conduct and to end wrongful convictions of sexual assault. The new program comes on the heels of a recent report on sex offender registries that concludes, “Black men are being convicted of sex crimes in alarming numbers.”
The Wrongful Convictions of Sexual Assault Program features informational resources for attorneys, researchers, policymakers, and concerned citizens. The resources address Prosecutorial Misconduct in Sex Crime Cases and the American Law Institute Model Penal Code, and features an Exoneree Honor Roll that lists the names of hundreds of persons exonerated of sexual assault. The online resource also provides a compilation of law review articles, empirical research studies, and other resources.'

'Mr Nuttall, MEP for North West England, told Express.co.uk: “Once again Pat Glass provides us with a window into the true soul of the Labour Party.
"They treat British voters and their views with utter disdain. Anyone who doesn’t fit their mould is considered to be less of a person.
"It´s in the same vein as shadow defence secretary Emily Thornberry´s scornful tweet about a so-called ´white van man´ in Rochester in 2014.
"I find it quite incredible that a politician would be rude towards people who vote. That´s certainly not my idea of respecting the electorate.
"In terms of the EU referendum campaign, however, Pat Glass is the gift that keeps on giving."'

'Pat Glass, who has already apologised earlier in the campaign after calling a voter a 'horrible racist', made the remarks as she spoke alongside shadow chancellor John McDonnell, Wolverhampton South West MP Rob Marris and Guardian columnist Owen Jones at Wolverhampton Grand Station.
Taking questions from a 200-strong audience of Labour supporters, Ms Glass was responding to a question about encouraging voters to support the Remain campaign.
She said women and young people were 'key' to a successful Remain vote in the referendum before adding: "Go and speak to your mother, your grandmother. Don't speak to your grandfather, we know the problem are older white men."
The comments were met by muted laughter.'

'Lawyers for "Jackie," the woman who claimed to Rolling Stone that she had been gang-raped at a University of Virginia fraternity party have finally acknowledged that their client created the fake rapist alleged to have orchestrated the attack.
Jackie's lawyers, in new court documents filed Tuesday, acknowledged that they had accessed an email account connected to the fake rapist in mid-March. The email account for "Haven Monahan," the name Jackie gave as her alleged rapist, had been created days after the alleged gang-rape had occurred and a day before the email account sent a love letter to a young man whom Jackie had a crush on.'

'Attention, ladies. Ryan Gosling thinks you’re pretty amazing and don’t you forget it.
In an interview with Evening Standard Magazine, the star of “The Nice Guys” (and the internet’s bae) shared his admiration for women in what might be the most straightforward compliment ever:
“I think women are better than men,” he said. “They are stronger, more evolved.”
Gosling, who has two daughters with Eva Mendes, explained that he’s noticed this strength and resilience at home with his own kids.
“You can tell especially when you have daughters and you see their early stages,” he said. “They are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately.”'

'A horde of student protesters crowded in front of UCLA’s Broad Art Center on Tuesday to prevent hundreds of Milo Yiannopoulos fans from entering the venue and hearing the conservative-gay firebrand speak.
...
Although many guests had lined up hours before the event’s start, police officers manning security did not appear to attempt to disperse the eclectic crowd of student protesters blockading the main entrance so guests waiting could go inside.
Asked to move, protesters simply said “no.”
Meanwhile, shouting matches ensued between the hundreds waiting in line and the 75 or so protesters lining the entrance and flanking the building.'

'Dozens of destinations into Milo Yiannopoulos’s “Dangerous Faggot Tour,” livid feminist protesters have learned how to make the most of what little time they get with the notorious provocateur. The dozens of protesters—including at least two professors—stood outside spitting at Yiannopoulos as he entered the Broad Art Center at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Yiannopoulos, accompanied by his usual Twitter entourage (including @bakedalaska), waved at the protesters. Certainty getting threatened with violence at DePaul last week must have desensitized Yiannopoulos from being too shocked by the protesters’ signs and spit.
When I spoke to the protesters before the event, they seemed divided as to what exactly they were trying to accomplish.'
