Anti-Milo Protester: Would Donate Bail to Anyone Who ‘Put a Bullet in Milo’s Head’

Article here. Excerpt:

'To protest Milo Yiannopoulos’ October 18 speaking event at Clemson University, a professor and a number of Left-leaning students and their respective organizations created the “Anti-Milo Event Committee” to plan a demonstration against the conservative speaker, according to audio recordings gathered undercover.

I spent several weeks infiltrating the group of activists, a combination of left-wing Clemson professors and activists from Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). Students were caught on tape referring to Milo as “someone I would like to punch in the throat.”'

Masculinity in Peril on Gender-Bending Campuses

Article here. Excerpt:

'Students at the college who “identify as male” were shown a docudrama about masculinity recently. The film, entitled “The Mask You Live In,” was part of a lesson warning students that the notion of masculinity comes with harmful side effects, as freshman James Goodman told The College Fix.

A young woman in the Boston area — a high school senior — reacted to all of this. “It’s weird that confusion is kind of sought-after in today’s modern world, as if you’re more evolved if you have confusion about your gender or your masculinity,” she told LifeZette. “It’s as if confusion and not knowing who you are is a positive thing now.”
...
Some progressive cultural initiatives embraced by U.S. colleges are silly — think micro-aggressions — and can be laughed off. This one can't. This is using the violent deaths of innocent Americans to push an agenda already wildly supported by the cultural elite. It's the erasure of gender.

The trouble with the “You go girl” culture

Article here. Excerpt:

'Two recent films, Deepwater Horizon with Mark Wahlberg and Sully starring Tom Hanks, represent something of a breath of fresh air, for both movies feature men who are intelligent, virtuous, and quietly heroic. If this strikes you as a banal observation, that just means you haven’t been following much of the popular culture for the past twenty years.
...
If you think this male-bashing is restricted to cartoons, think again. Ray Romano’s character in Everyone Loves Raymond, Ed O’Neill’s hopeless father in Married With Children, and Ty Burrell's hapless goofball in Modern Family—all are variations on the Homer Simpson theme. Add to all this the presentation of fathers as not just inept, but horrific in Game of Thrones, and the absent, indifferent fathers of Stranger Things.

And I wonder whether you’ve noticed a character that can be found in practically every movie made today? I call her the “all conquering female.” Almost without exception, she is underestimated by men and then proves herself more intelligent, cleverer, more courageous, and more skilled than any man. Whether we’re talking about a romantic comedy, an office drama, or an adventure movie, the all conquering female will almost inevitably show up. And she has to show her worth in a domineering way, that is to say, over and against the men. For her to appear strong, they have to appear weak. For a particularly good case in point, watch the most recent Star Wars film.

Milo Yiannopoulos appearance at NYU scrapped due to ‘security concerns’

Article here. Excerpt:

'The ‘ol “security concerns” excuse has popped up again, this time regarding an appearance by conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos at New York University.

The Wall Street Journal reports that NYU officials sent a letter to the school College Republicans informing them that “physical altercations had broken out at previous stops” of Milo’s college tour, and as such his event next month at NYU was canceled.

The letter pointed out that Milo was to appear at a site “near student groups at NYU’s Manhattan campus ‘that are subjects of Mr. Yiannopoulos’ attacks.’”

“Garbage,” Yiannopoulos responded. “The only person really at risk at any of my talks is me,” he said.'

It’s Time to End ‘Rape Culture’ Hysteria

Article here. Excerpt:

'The nation's largest and most influential anti-sexual-violence organization is rejecting the idea that culture — as opposed to the actions of individuals — is responsible for rape.

“Rape is as American as apple pie,” says blogger Jessica Valenti. She and her sisters-in-arms describe our society as a “rape culture” where violence against women is so normal, it’s almost invisible. Films, magazines, fashion, books, music, humor, even Barbie — according to the activists — cooperate in conveying the message that women are there to be used, abused and exploited. Recently, rape-culture theory has migrated from the lonely corners of the feminist blogosphere into the mainstream. In January, the White House asserted that we need to combat campus rape by “[changing] a culture of passivity and tolerance in this country, which too often allows this type of violence to persist.”

College Sex Meets the Star Chamber

Article here. Excerpt:

'Yale University’s motto is Lux et Veritas, light and truth. But at Yale today, bureaucrats charged with investigating and punishing alleged sexual misconduct seem less interested in truth or fairness than in scoring political points.

To start, they have expanded the terms harassment and assault beyond traditional legal definitions. Under Yale’s sexual misconduct policy, sexual harassment includes verbal statements that have the “effect” of creating an “intimidating” environment. Sexual assault includes any contact without “positive, unambiguous, and voluntary” consent. According to Yale, consent must be “ongoing” at each stage of an encounter but “cannot be inferred from the absence of a ‘no’ ” or presumed from “contextual factors.”

New Film ‘The Red Pill’ Asks Whether Men’s Rights Activists Have a Point

Article here. Excerpt:

'Men’s rights activists, or “MRAs,” have long been among the progressive community’s favorite whipping boys — reviled, deplored and mocked as angry, whiny losers pining for their bygone privilege. Right now, they make especially convenient bogeymen in the ugly gender wars of Election 2016. A few days ago, a New York Times article on supposedly resurgent misogyny in American culture singled out the “manosphere” — the male-focused sector of the Internet that includes MRA websites — as a toxic swamp of woman-hating.

Yet at this very moment, a new documentary called The Red Pill takes a mostly sympathetic look at the dreaded MRAs — and it’s made by a woman who began the project as a committed feminist.

Male Pill moves a step closer: British scientists discover way to stop sperm swimming

Article here. Excerpt:

'British scientists have made a breakthrough in the search for a male contraceptive pill – which could transform the sex lives of millions of couples.

For decades, researchers have tried to produce a reliable alternative to condoms or a vasectomy, but there has been little progress.

Now UK scientists have found the secret of making men temporarily infertile – by ‘switching off’ sperm’s ability to swim.

They have made tiny ‘designer compounds’ which smuggle themselves into sperm, and stop their tails from wiggling. If a sperm can’t swim, it has no chance of naturally fertilising a woman’s egg.'

Mother confesses to suffocating her three young children

Article here. Excerpt:

'Three-month-old Niall was the first to die, on July 22, 2014.

His brother, 4-year-old Gavin, died nine months later, on April 6, 2015.

Noah was next: He was born just after Gavin’s death — and died on Aug. 18, 2015.

The mother of all three children, Brittany Pilkington, confessed to killing them over a 13-month period, Ohio prosecutors say. The same day her third son died, the 24-year-old mother from Bellefontaine told police that she put a blanket over all three of the children’s faces and placed her hand over their noses and mouths.

Pilkington’s videotaped confession was played in court this week. Her attorneys argued that the confession was coerced and, therefore, unconstitutional; it shouldn’t be used at trial, they say.

Pilkington was indicted on three counts of aggravated murder. If found guilty, she could face the death penalty.'

Data Reveals Women Overwhelmingly Choose Lower-Paying College Majors

Article here. Excerpt:

'Research on the gender pay gap from the American Enterprise Institute reveals that women overwhelmingly choose less-lucrative university majors.

The research, conducted by AEI scholar Mark J. Perry who is a professor at the University of Michigan in Flint, argues that any gap in earnings between American men and women are the result of the different career field choices rather than employer discrimination.

According to Perry’s research, American women received 57% of all bachelor degrees granted in 2014, which equated to nearly 200,000 more degrees granted to females than to males. Despite this disparity, the degrees granted to women came overwhelmingly in lower-paying majors, such as Nursing, Journalism, and English.'

Masculinity is not to blame for domestic violence

Article here. Excerpt:

'We need to be careful about the messages we send to young men about masculinity.

This week, it was revealed that students in Victoria, from primary school onwards, will be taught about “hegemonic masculinity”.

Don’t know what that is? Well, that state’s new respectful relationships curriculum defines it as the dominant form of masculinity in society that “requires boys and men to be heterosexual, tough, athletic and emotionless, and encourages the control and dominance of men over women”.

In other words, the uncommunicative Aussie bloke who sits in front of the footy on a Saturday arvo and only acknowledges his wife when he’s asking her to grab him another beer from the fridge, is the pinnacle of hegemonic masculinity.

Columbia University Student Forced To Attend ‘Re-Education’ For Saying He’s Handsome

Article here. Excerpt:

'Columbia University student Benjamin Sweetwood recently wrote a piece for The Tab discussing the “re-education” he received from the gender-based misconduct office for daring to refer to himself as “handsome” in class.

Sweetwood was attending a Chinese language class in the fall of 2014. Naturally part of this class was using the vocabulary and grammar learned to create sentences. During one class Sweetwood referred to himself as handsome using the Chinese phrase, “Wǒ hěn shuài”. Sweetwood thought nothing of this, finished the class and went home. The next day however Sweetwood was asked to stay after class by his professor, in Sweetwood’s own words, this is how the exchange went.

HPV cancer rising in men, Cancer Society wants boys vaccinated

Article here. Excerpt:

'The Canadian Cancer Society is warning the Newfoundland and Labrador government that it's no longer enough to vaccinate only girls for the human papillomavirus (HPV).

New statistics suggest boys need the vaccine too.

A report released by the Canadian Cancer Society says the number of Canadian men with HPV-related mouth and throat cancer is rising, and could surpass the rate of cervical cancer caused by HPV.

The study says between 1992 and 2012, the number of men with HPV mouth and throat cancer rose by 56 per cent.'
