'A lawyer who specializes in securing equal treatment for both sexes under California law is taking on new territory: women-only scholarships.
Last week Alfred Rava filed suit on behalf of two male students who were barred from applying for a scholarship that is explicitly intended to “introduce women interested in careers in cybersecurity to the financial community.”
The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center, a member-owned nonprofit that “share[s] timely, relevant and actionable physical and cyber security threat and incident information” among nearly 7,000 members, excludes male applicants from the only scholarship it offers, the two-year-old Building Cybersecurity Diversity scholarship.
American recipients of the $5,000 scholarship also get networking opportunities and an all-expenses-paid trip to the FS-ISAC summit this fall in Chicago, where they can meet top executives in the industry.

'A Texas A&M University swimmer filed a lawsuit against the school on Monday, claiming that he was wrongly held responsible and disciplined by a Title IX investigation in 2015.
According to the lawsuit, Austin Van Overdam was found responsible for the alleged sexual assault of female TAMU student Hannah Shaw, whom he met on the social media dating app, Tinder.
...
During the hearing conducted by the TAMU Student Conduct Office, which heard testimony from both parties but reviewed no other evidence, Shaw claimed that she consented to two of the three sexual acts while Van Overdam maintained that all sexual contact was consensual, according to the lawsuit.
Despite the contradicting testimony, the administrative hearing panel found Van Overdam responsible for one of the four charges, deeming that the first and third sexual acts were consensual while the second was not, consistent with Shaw’s testimony.'

'A woman who lied about being raped in a Michigan college parking lot was sentenced to 45 days in jail.
Mary Zolkowski, 21, pleaded guilty to falsely reporting a felony in March. Zolkowski said she told her mother she had been raped in February by a stranger in the parking lot of Delta College southwest of Bay City, Michigan. She said her mother called the campus, and then Zolkowski completed a report.
Delta College police were unable to verify her story, and Zolkowski later admitted it was false.
"I was assaulted previously, not at Delta's campus," Zolkowski said in March, MLive reports. "And because I was ashamed of circumstances of that, when my mother called, I vented through Delta, which was very wrong of me. I should have been truthful from the very beginning, and I used Delta."
...
False reports of sexual assault are rare — 2 to 10 percent, according to studies cited by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.'

'The Western man has achieved great wealth, intellectual attainment, technological advancement, medical breakthrough, and the highest status in the world at breakneck speed in the modern era. But as all good things must come to an end, the Western man is drifting quickly towards the edges of the whirlpool due largely to his own actions.
Historians will debate the reasons for this inevitable fall. I put it to you that chief among them was the willful abdication of the Western man’s preeminent status in favor of the Western woman.

'Canadian psychologist Prof. Jordan Peterson shared his views on a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater professor's argument that “toxic masculinity” should be taught to children as early as kindergarten.
Kathleen Elliott argues in an issue of "On The Horizon," an academic journal, that there are "consequences of simplified, toxic forms of masculinity in schools and society."
Campus Reform reported that Elliott wrote that the media promotes “aspects of toxic masculinity such as physical strength, dominance, and heterosexual prowess.”
Peterson said that "you'd have to be a fool" to teach young children such a concept.
...
Peterson added that it's difficult to even define what "toxic masculinity" is.
"Where's the crisis?" he asked. "Why would we turn the education of our children over to idiot ideologues?"'

'THE WORLD HAS recently become more terrifyingly aware of incels, which, if you don’t already know, stands for “involuntary celibate.” It’s an underground coalition of mainly men who complain about how society actively and unfairly deprives them of sex, often, they say, because they are too ugly or too fat.
It is, of course, nonsense. Incels are usually conspiracy theorists, not victims, who believe the world is purposely denying them their fundamental right to sex on demand—and who share many values and tactics with white supremacist, men’s rights, and alt-right groups. Self-declared incels encourage violent acts, including the “incel rebellion” in Toronto that killed 10 people and injured 20 more.

'No fewer than 60 organizations branded "hate groups" or otherwise attacked by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) are considering legal action against the left-wing smear factory, a Christian legal nonprofit leader confirmed to PJ Media on Tuesday. He suggested that the $3 million settlement and apology the SPLC gave to Maajid Nawaz and his Quilliam Foundation on Monday would encourage further legal action.
"We haven't filed anything against the SPLC, but I think a number of organizations have been considering filing lawsuits against the SPLC, because they have been doing to a lot of organizations exactly what they did to Maajid Nawaz that's part of the settlement," Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, told PJ Media on Tuesday.

Reached via email, campus spokeswoman Shannon Nargi emailed The College Fix a statement that simultaneously seemed to denounce Waters while defending her call for hatred as a “controversial idea.”

'Sorry dads, but if you weren’t willing to take on Progressive immigration policies or address your so-called toxic masculinity, you weren’t allowed to enjoy Father’s Day. Actually, if you follow the advice of many of the Left’s most extreme voices, you should have spent yesterday apologizing to all of mankind. Strike than: humankind (no more gendering words!).
...
Second: toxic masculinity!
That’s the new phrase Progressive feminists like to throw out there, an attempt to blame men (straight, white men, in particular) for every societal or even personal woe. And boy were these activists triggered. Father’s Day? You mean for men!? Haven’t the straight, white patriarchy benefitted enough!?!? We can’t celebrate them!
So rather than take a moment to celebrate the fathers and father figures in our life, we had to get angry and political. NBC News declared, in what I promise isn’t a satirical piece:

'The radical feminist assault on men is certainly no gift to our children. To be sure, single moms can achieve great things, and grandparents, as was the case for President Obama, can raise an outstanding human being. But both girls and boys clearly benefit from the presence of two parents, which usually means a mom and dad. Of course, we should also favor the adoption of children into gay couples or by a single parent as vastly preferable to an abusive home or none at all.

'Family Movement Chairman Gil Ronen was expelled today from a Committee for the Advancement of the Status of Women hearing chaired by MK Aida Touma Sliman (Joint Arab List), after MK Merav Ben-Ari (Kulanu) interrupted Ronen, shouting "every week a woman is murdered here."
Sliman deprived Ronen of the floor, and when he replied that the committee had "declared war on the male gender," she ordered the Knesset Guard to expel him.
The meeting was intended to discuss data presented to MK Nachman Shai (Zionist Union) showing about 70% of cases against men accused of domestic violence close without trial.
Police and prosecution representatives explained the reasons for closing or not closing a case are professional and based on preponderance of evidence, witnesses, etc. The Committee Chair did not accept the statements and claimed a decline in the domestic violence prosecution rate, warning that if the trend continues, women might be afraid to complain.

The Master’s Program in Masculinities will be a 30-credit online program offered through the school’s Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities, which aims to “disseminate research that redefines gender relations to foster greater social justice.”
The center counts feminist icons such as Gloria Steinem, Eve Ensler, and Jane Fonda among its Board of Directors, and it is led by Michael Kimmel, a feminist academic who most recently wrote a book on “angry white men” suffering from “aggrieved entitlement.”

If Kimmel’s proposal is approved, it will become the first master’s degree in “Masculinities” ever to be offered.'

'Every day should be Father's Day.
We've been hearing about the barbecue tools which dad would like to receive. Or, gardening equipment.
What dad should get this year is new attention to fathers. The men have been getting a bad deal.
...
For decades I have been urging equality between fathers and mothers. Although there has been progress in this direction, fathers still have a difficult time being recognized as equal parents.
Father's Day each year makes me grateful for what my father did for me. This has little to do with our relationship, and much to do with what he taught me.
...
Most of us believe that women can do what men do. The challenge is to convince employers, legislators, mothers, that men can do what women do.
So last week we celebrated Father's Day and this week I reflect on it with this message: Every day should be Father's Day.'

'WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a special session called to order Friday, Congress voted unanimously to do a complete overhaul of Father’s Day, renaming the holiday “Toxic Masculinity Awareness Day” and redefining the day’s meaning to encourage citizens to heap shame and disgust on all fathers, current or potential.
Americans across the country excitedly prepared to celebrate the updated holiday designed to shame fathers and all things masculine as the weekend approached.
“It was just time,” said House Speaker Paul Ryan, citing the high numbers of depression and anxiety among men as “a good sign things are progressing in the right direction, but we still have a lot of work to do before all men, everywhere do the right thing and hate themselves with the appropriate level of vehemence.” The new initiative seeks to have all men wailing in the streets in sackcloth and ashes, flagellating and weeping with shame and regret for their harmful, problematic masculinity.'

'African Movie Academy Award winning Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has found herself facing twitter backlash after she posted a controversial tweet to her page on Fathers Day.
In a tweet which has since been deleted, the “Keteke” actress said “I don’t see Mother’s begging and reminding everyone when it’s Mother’s day. We celebrate our mothers because we want to,not because they try to guilt us into it. So focus on being GOOD fathers and you don’t have to beg to be celebrated on Father’s day. #HappyFathersDay”
The post which was sent at 4:40am on a day which is supposed to be special for fathers who have been there for their families understandably did not go down well with people on the internet who bombarded her page with furious replies which then prompted the actress to make her account private.
