#MeToo wants the end of men

Article here. Excerpt:

'It didn’t start out this way, but the #MeToo movement, coupled with third-wave feminism, wants to eradicate the significant role men have in society. This is not only obvious, but sad and dangerous — not to mention misleading for boys. Are women so insecure in their radicalism, so blindsided in their continued quest for equal rights, they must silence men completely?

In a press conference on Tuesday, Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said in regards to the unsubstantiated accusation that Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman: "Men need to shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change."

Panel renames glacier over discoverer's reported sexually harassing behavior

Article here. In other news, America will be re-named Femina because someone thinks Amerigo Vespucci may have once fondled a girl's rear end in the third grade. Excerpt:

'The #MeToo movement has prompted an Interior Department-run panel to rename a glacier in Antarctica.

The U.S. Board on Geographic Names — a multiagency body in the U.S. Geological Survey — relabeled the Marchant Glacier last week after the scientist for which it's named was found by Boston University to have engaged in sexual harassment.

The glacier's now called the Matataua Glacier, according to Lou Yost, executive secretary of the U.S. Board on Geographic Names.

The landform was previously named for geologist David Marchant, who was linked to more than $5 million in grant awards from the National Science Foundation and NASA. A Boston University investigation last year found Marchant sexually harassed female researchers during a 1999-2000 field expedition in Antarctica.

Jane Fonda on Redemption for #MeToo Abusers: ‘F— It! Sweep the Floor at Starbucks Until You Learn!’

Article here. Excerpt:

'As for the perpetrators, Fonda had little sympathy. “Guys are trying to make a comeback and they haven’t done the work,” she said, citing Charlie Rose’s efforts to get back on television as an example. “It doesn’t matter how much time [they’ve been out of work],” she insisted. “If they haven’t done the work, then why should they come back?” Still, Fonda maintained that she has “tremendous compassion for boys and men,” but that “we just have to fix them, or at least show them the way.”
...
“Men are trained not to be empathic, not to be emotional. So it’s not easy what they’re trying to do,” Fonda said of men who make an actual effort to better themselves. “But they have to try to do it! So it doesn’t matter if it’s been two weeks or two years. It just matters what kind of changes they’ve gone through.” In fact, Fonda said, “Why not do what the guys who lose their union jobs in Pennsylvania do? Work at Starbucks, f— it!”'

'Shut up': Democrats fire up man-bashing to defeat Kavanaugh in 'defining' #MeToo moment

Article here. Excerpt:

'Vilifying half the population may sound like a risky campaign strategy, but Democratic man-bashing has soared as the party fights to beat back the Kavanaugh nomination and whip up support for the midterms.

Sen. Mazie K. Hirono, Hawaii Democrat, made an anti-male tirade heard ‘round the world — “Just shut up and step up” — signaling the party’s willingness to slap all men with the #MeToo label if that’s what it takes to bring down Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court bid.

After Palo Alto University professor Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation of a sexual assault from 36 years ago came to light, Ms. Hirono said, “But really, guess who is perpetuating all of these kinds of actions? It’s the men in this country.”

“And I just want to say to the men in this country: Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change,” Ms. Hirono said.

Even male Democrats such as Rep. John Garamendi of California have jumped in, calling this “a defining moment for the #MeToo movement.”'

Kavanaugh nomination moves into bizarro male-bashing land

Article here. Excerpt:

'The Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh has moved out of the field of nomination and into the bizarro field of male-bashing.

Kavanaugh’s confirmation has now become the left’s means of publicly hating on males — white males, in particular, at least according to “The View” host Joy Behar.

Could we please circle this circus show on back to the matter at hand, which, as anyone with long memories can attest, is supposed to be about upholding the integrity of America’s judicial system?

Oh yeah, about that. Behar’s busy doing this instead, speaking in context of discussing the players in the Senate Judiciary Committee who are responsible for Kavanaugh’s confirmation: “These white men, old by the way, are not protecting women,” she said during a recent show, Fox News reported.

And then this marvel of investigative prowess: “They’re protecting a man who is probably guilty.”

Senate Dems urge FBI to probe threats against Ford; those against Kavanaugh and kin unmentioned

Article here. Excerpt:

'Senate Democrats on Thursday called for the FBI to investigate threats against Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault more than three decades ago.

But they pointedly did not request a similar probe of threats against Kavanaugh or his family.

In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and joined by all Democratic members of the Judiciary Committee, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., calls for federal authorities to take "immediate action ... to investigate potential federal crimes against Dr. Christine Blasey Ford."

The Democrats, saying the threats involve laws against interstate threats of violence, as well as federal witness intimidation and obstruction laws, add in the letter that they "strongly believe that how Dr. Blasey Ford is treated in this moment reflects upon how seriously our nation treats credible claims of sexual assault, and whether we have learned from past mistakes."'

Canada: Candidate rejects women-only public debate for municipal candidates

Article here. Excerpt:

'Town Ward candidate Jenny Lanciault says that a forthcoming public debate for women candidates in the municipal election is sexist — and she won't attend unless male candidates are invited to participate, too.

"I'm not flying on a gender card," Lanciault said in an interview Tuesday. "I don't want to play into that mindset – I want a level playing field."

The event is called Spotlight on Women and it's being held next week at the Peterborough Public Library.

It's being organized by the Canadian Federation of University Women – Peterborough Club.

The eight women candidates for council have been invited to come speak about the issues and why they're running.

That includes Lanciault and two other women candidates in Town Ward, Kemi Akapo and Jane Davidson (who are running in addition to Coun. Dean Pappas and Jim Russell).'

Email From Fathers To Our Boys- Don't Date Women Like Mazie Hirono

Article here. Excerpt:

'Boys, Listen, we know we've had the talk. And we're not trying to have that conversation all over again (but feel free to come to us with questions.) But there is something we forgot to mention as you get older and you date. You'll date girls, and some of you will date other boys, and we can handle that. You might not think we can handle either, but we can. We're tougher than you think.

But the one thing we can not stress enough: You do not date women like Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono. Oh sure, there is nothing wrong with dating strong, successful women. We like strong, successful women. But that's not Sen. Hirono. Seriously, don't let the title fool you. Hillary Clinton had lots of titles (FLOTUS, Senator, Secretary of State,) but none of those changed what she is: a liar, a criminal and an enabler of a sexual abuser who was supported by other supposedly strong women like Sen. Mazie Hirono.

SAVE: Call Sen. Hirono's Office and Tell Her You Won't "Shut Up"

Most Americans believe free speech and the presumption of innocence are cornerstones of democracy. But not Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawii.

In a recent interview about the sexual misconduct allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, Hirono remarked,

'Not only do women, like Dr. Ford, who bravely comes forward, need to be heard, but they need to be believed. Guess who's perpetuating all of these kinds of actions? It's the men in this country. And I just want to say to the men in this country, "Just shut up and step up. Do the right thing for a change."'

Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson took Hirono to task for her totalitarian-sounding comments -- see video on the right.

Are we going to acquiesce to Hirono's call to end free speech and the presumption of innocence? If not, please call her office now: (202) 224-6361.

Sincerely,

The Politicization of the Kavanaugh Sexual Abuse Allegations Damages #MeToo

Article here. Excerpt:

'This has always been the key question the #MeToo movement has adamantly refused to answer: What should the standard of proof, or even the standard of believability, be? Should the standard be criminal liability? Presumably not, since most accusers are emerging to speak long after alleged incidents. Should the standard be credibility of the individual telling the story combined with supporting details that lend additional credibility? Perhaps, but that apparently isn't enough for some. The standard promoted by many in the #MeToo movement is the far-too-simplistic and outright dangerous "believe all women" standard. By that standard, former President Bill Clinton is a rapist. So are the Duke lacrosse players, the members of a University of Virginia frat house and a foreign exchange Columbia University student — all of whom were exonerated.'

HuffPo Survey Finds Smaller Percentage Of Women Than Men Find Accusations Against Kavanaugh ‘Credible’

Article here. Excerpt:

'A smaller percentage of women than men find the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to be “credible,” but more men than women find them “not credible.”

That’s according to a new poll from the left-leaning Huffington Post, which partnered with YouGov to conduct the survey.

Using the interactive features to filter results by gender, one finds the startling statistic. When asked: “Do you think that the allegation of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh generally is or is not credible?” 28% of men said it was credible, while 25% of women said the same.'

France tackles screen sexism with subsidy for women

Article here. Excerpt:

'France is to give movies made by women a special subsidy bonus in a bid to counter sexism in the film industry, its culture minister said Wednesday.

Francoise Nyssen, who helped launch the 50/50 pledge on gender equality earlier this year that has since shaken Hollywood, said productions that are "exemplary" on equality will get an extra 15 percent subsidy.

The new bonus will work on a points system, Nyssen said, with productions given one point for a female director, scriptwriter or chief technician.'

Don’t Let The Kavanaugh Confirmation Turn Into A Title IX Kangaroo Court

Article here. Excerpt:

'Senate Democrats and Christine Blasey Ford, have tried—and so far failed—to turn Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation into a Kafkaesque version of a Title IX tribunal, in which the accused is presumed guilty, may not know the identity of the accuser, and is not permitted to mount a defense.

"The Trial” is a dark satire of modern bureaucracy, but a century later it bears a striking resemblance to the kangaroo courts on college campusesthat can ruin the lives male students accused of sexual misconduct.

But the Senate Judiciary Committee isn’t a campus tribunal, and Senate Republicans, to their credit, have thus far refused to turn the confirmation process into one. By setting a public hearing for Monday, and inviting both Ford and Kavanaugh to speak to the accusations, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley have masterfully called Democrats’ hand.'

Amy Schumer: Men’s Me Too Jokes Are ‘Belittling Victims’

Article here. Excerpt:

'Amy Schumer sent out a statement to men who joke about sexual assault and the changes brought on by the Me Too movement: “STOP.”

“Any dude saying ‘I’m scared to be in a room with a woman now’ or ‘is it ok to say hello? I don’t know the new rules,’ STOP,” the comedian wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

“What you are doing is belittling victims who have been wronged,” Schumer’s statement continued. “They say 1 in 6 women in our country are sexually assaulted. That’s based on who reports it. It’s been proven to be closer to 1 in 3. Your sisters/daughters. Stop making fun of the terror and indignity most of us have faced in our lives.”

“If you’re confused about the new rules,” she continued, “Just ask and don’t make it a joke. Because that’s harmful and we don’t want to hear that kind of joke right now. Mmmmmkay?”'

Blumenthal: Kavanaugh Nomination ‘Should Be Withdrawn’ – Standard Is ‘Credibility,’ Not Whether You’ve Assaulted

Article here. Excerpt:

'While speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Senate Judiciary Committee member Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) stated that Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination should be withdrawn. He further argued that Kavanaugh “has raised serious doubts about his credibility” and “the bar here is not whether you have not criminally assaulted someone, it’s credibility, trust, integrity.”

Blumenthal said, “I have opposed his nomination…from the beginning. I think the nomination should be withdrawn. He has raised serious doubts about his credibility in his testimony already. He’s been evasive and seemingly misleading. And the bar here is not whether you have not criminally assaulted someone, it’s credibility, trust, integrity.”

He added, “[T]his nomination will not only cast a shadow over Judge Kavanaugh, if he were ever to be confirmed, it will also stain the United States Supreme Court irreparably.”'
