In this essay, Wendy McElroy, responds to an email sent to her by Liz Richards of NAFCJ. Just noting the difference in writing styles was an eye opener for me. Wendy sure has Liz outclassed.

And in this essay, Trudy Schuett responds to the same rant.

I don't know what statement I love most in all this, Liz Richards' "You will be so sorry you have been promoting the cause of a ring of sociopath, deadbeat, and violent abusers," Wendy's "As for the content of Ms. Richards' email to me... To a large extent, I'm not sure what she is talking about," or Trudy's "there is a need to speak to women, and those men who bought the feminist line and thought by going along with it they were doing something positive for the world... those who styled themselves as feminist leaders years ago, who claimed to speak for women and improve their position in society, were not worthy of the trust bestowed on them."

Trudy Schuett writes, "Preparation for the Domestic Violence Awareness campaign in
October is just getting underway, and I wanted to alert those with
an interest in the program. As you're probably aware, last year's
campaign was sidetracked due to saturation media coverage of the
9/11 disaster pretty much into the Xmas shopping season. This year
will be different, especially considering recent events relating
to challenges to the feminist ideology in many areas. This year we
will also be expanding to include other countries as well as the
US, and hard-copy publications to get the information on as many
websites, to as many people as possible." Read More below for the rest of her announcement.

warble writes "This report states, "Richards stated that Cindy Ross was the California director of her group, while Vicky Pierce was its Georgia director. In her email, she also said that Pierce had recently become the Cobb County president of NOW." This email cited in this news release could be the link that ties CA NOW into the potential defamation of property and libel cases that seem to be on the horizon. Notice also that Richards is reported to have "...blasted the leaders of the Father's Rights Movement, calling them "a pack of liars" bent on inflicting their ex-mates with "every single injustice they false(ly) claim to be inflicted on them." In my opinion, we know who Richard's is calling a pack of liars. All we have to do is reference the CA NOW report."

Dan-Lynch writes "This is a series run by the Massachusetts News on Wellesley's Campus ethics, among other things. You may remember Gilligan and her "girls are disadvantaged" mantra, well this series covers some interesting insights on that as well as a few other topics, including "Wellesley's attack on boys, straight women and men." I highly recommend the read and passing it on, as it covers a great deal of men's concerns from domestic violence to the feminization of males. A very full body of issues in a short piece."

Jack Kammer's If Men Have All the Power, How Come Women Make the Rules? book has just been released in a second edition. The book can be downloaded here for free, but also has been released in paperback form. I've personally found this book to be one of the few that can really open the eyes to someone new to the idea of men's rights. The aphoristic style of the book seems very effective this way, and I'd highly recommend it. Why not pick up a few copies of this book in paperback and give them out to people?

Stephen Baskerville, Ph.D., political science teacher at Howard University, gives his take on the growing marriage boycott by men. Doctor Baskerville states, "men themselves express a weightier explanation of why they fear marriage: For many men, starting a family is a one-way ticket to jail, and even worse." How sad and how true. He also states, "Portraying marriage as a man’s ball-and-chain used to be a joke. Now, it is a political problem." I would add that it is also a societal problem that is accompanied by a dangerous rate of population collapse.

Marc writes "California Assemblyman Rod Wright, who authored the anti paternity fraud bill AB2240, defended his bill in an editorial in the Sacramento Bee. He introduces what appear to be some new terms: 'deeppocket paternity,' 'revenge paternity,' and 'convenience paternity' (along with honest mistakes).

Note: feminists successfully diluted AB2240 to give judges total discretion. We (NCFM LA) still support the bill but we oppose the discretionary language because it allows bias and inconsistency. Some of us will drive to Sacramento from L.A. to testify at the 8/6 hearing. Anyone who wants to join us should email me."

According to this discussion thread on ifeminists.com, Wendy McElroy is possibly being threatened with lawsuits for "ridiculing" the CA NOW Family Court Report 2002. According to McElroy herself, "I have been told to cease "ridiculing" the CA NOW report and associated feminists. Monetary compensation has been "demanded." But the actual filing of a lawsuit has not occurred." This only suggests to me that these people know their lies are being exposed and they will take any desperate action to silence the truth.

Glenn Sacks and Dianna Thompson describe the injustice of a new anti-father device imposed by the courts. In her recent decision, Judge E. Chouteau Merrill determined that virtual visitation by computer link is an appropriate replacement for true visitation, where a man might actually be able to hug his children.

William "Hootie" Johnson, chairman of Augusta National Golf Club, home to the annual Masters tournament, has dared to stand up to the feminists. Martha Burk, chair of the National Council of Women's Organizations, has contacted Johnson, in a manner that he found "both offensive and coercive," to demand that the all-male golf club admit women. Johnson has refused to submit. Burk has threatened to contact sponsors. If this takes place, perhaps we should contact the same sponsors and go out of our way to purchase their products.

The latest article of Glenn Sacks is sure to put him on the highest ranking of N.O.W's hit list. In it, Sacks exposes fundamental flaws in the survey which the report was based on - not the least of which includes the fact that the survey respondents were all women (it's kind of hard to conclude that courts would be biased against men when men aren't even asked). Sacks' article was printed in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the San Fransisco Daily Journal, and I'm sure will result in a lot of scrutiny of NOW's report for the foreseeable future. The men's movement owes a debt of gratitude for Sacks for writing such a courageous, well researched article.

Trudy W Schuett writes "The popular DLJ columnist is back, this time with a modernized
version of "Medea." Far from being heavy or obscure, this David
Reiser treatment of the story is readable, while being no less
heart-searing than the original.

As you may know, the most famous version of Medea is the Greek
tragedy by Euripides, the dramatization of an
event that has probably happened many, many times. In the
Euripides version, Medea murders her children in front of their
father, Jason (of Jason and the Argonauts fame). He had left her
for a woman with greater wealth, power, youth, and beauty; not
four attributes likely to endear him to Medea. Medea quickly
realizes that the only way she can adequately achieve revenge
against Jason is by murdering the children. One by one, they line
up obediently, kneel at her feet, and allow her to slit their
throats, as their father is forced to watch."

SJones writes "Progressive Insurance has begun running an ad in which an angry ex-girlfriend or ex-wife is depicted as creating a voo doo doll of her ex and then injuring him in various ways. At the end of the commercial she uses pliers on his genitals and we are shown him making a horrible face for the last shot. Apparently this insurance company thinks sexual abuse of males is a good way to sell insurance. Unless they hear otherwise from us this will likely continue."

J. Steven Svoboda sent in a couple of interesting press releases on the topic of circumcision. The releases are fairly heavily formatted so I will simply make them downloadable in their native MS Word format. The first one outlines a study in the Journal of Health Psychology which shows that circumcision can be the cause of certain psychological problems, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The second release announces that the state of Arizona has become the seventh state to bar Medicaid funding for infant circumcision, with other states likely to follow.

This article from the Canadian press mentions the recent revocation of a Budwieser beer ad which showed women slapping their boyfriends for looking at other women. Due to "a handful" of complaints, the ad was pulled, as was a Chrysler ad in 1999 which had the same theme. The article describes the ad as being "pulled", but then says that it will still be run after 11 PM. Still, it's definitely worthwhile to keep track of progress such as this that we can build on.
