Sacks Blasts College Misandry

In his latest article, "Why Males Don't Go to College," men's issues columnist Glenn Sacks blasts American universities as "hostile environments" for males. He takes readers into the classrooms of his old alma mater, UCLA, to expose the bigotry which college men face on a daily basis. He also skewers what he calls the "timid male professors who are so content with their own careers that they were perfectly willing to allow 18 year-old boys to be beat up on rather than jeopardize their own comfort by speaking out" against anti-male bigotry.

Glenn will discuss the article on the Al Rantel Show tonight (Wednesday, November 13) at 7 PM PST on AM 790 KABC in Los Angeles. Listeners can call in to the show at 1-800-222-KABC.

MANN Chat: Toward Male-friendly Family Law

Steve writes "I will host this week's MANN chat, Wednesday night
(11/13), starting at 9:30 PM Eastern Time, at the usual location. The topic
for this chat will be 'Toward Male-friendly Family Law.'  I think most
men's activists would agree that there are many problems with the family
law system and that the system generally discriminates against men.  To
effect positive change, it might help to consider what a reformed family
law system would look like.  What is your vision of a male-friendly
system of laws relating to marriage and divorce?    Join us at
this week's MANN chat to share your vision and learn from others.  Invite
a friend or two to join you!"

Boston Globe Recognizing Men Abused by Women

CJ writes "The Boston Globe has recognized that men are abused by women by publishing Cathy Young's excellent article that points out that domestic violence policies are all too often influenced by an outdated, one-sided, and sexist view of abuse."

NCFM-LA's Web Site Additions

Marc writes "Please check out the website National Coalition of Free Men, Los Angeles chapter, and sign our guesbook! We could use your support and feedback. Be sure to click on "flyer." That cute little boy smiling at you on the upper left is Ray. He grew up to become a battered male and a Vietnam Vet, and he's now one of NCFM's most active members! In fact he designed the flyer! Oh, and don't forget to click on "activist projects" to see the letters of support for a commission for men coming from leaders all over the community. The declaration by Patricia Overberg at the top names the DV shelters who abused and mistreated her just because she dared to make some space for male victims. Big thanks to Warble and his friend for designing the website, to Ray for designing the flyer, to all chapter members for their hard work, to NCFM national for their support and for a start-up grant, and to everyone else for their support as well and for being part of a movement that will not stop, ever, until we see equal justice for men. Of course there's much more in site for our site, but this is what we have so far and we'd love to hear from you in our guestbook. Thanks!"

The Silence Of The Man

Unfortunately, this article was put in the entertainment section, rather than being written in a slightly more serious style and published as an editorial. I also don't buy the "Fathers may not, on the whole, have it as bad as mothers." Nevertheless, the essay deals with the silencing of men, and it shows that men are starting to speak out.

This other article deals with the general silencing, in the US, of any voice that runs contrary to pc dogma. It's good to see more and more people speaking out about the silencing of men and the social disease known as political correctness.

In Honor of our Vets...

I'd like to take a moment today to honor the military veterans who have made all kinds of sacrifices for the rights that most of us take for granted. If anyone has poems or other relevant thoughts on this, feel free to post them in the comments section of this story.

The F-Word: Fatherhood

Though it focuses mostly on men acting individually, this article struck me as a further sign of just how strong an impact the men's movement is having. Researchers have started to ask about the role of men in the plummeting birth rate in Australia (a phenomenon occurring in most or all industrialized nations). This suggests to me that, as we take control of our lives over the next few decades, men and the men's movement will have at least as much of an impact on society as feminism has had over the last 35 or so years.

Hang onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen, we're in for a hell of a ride.

Female Bashing E-cards Available to Prove a Point at MSNHatesMen.com

Raymond Cuttill writes "A revived www.MSNHatesMen.com is now running. It is a free antidote to the male bashing e-cards on the MSN "Love Stinks" section. The female e-card is now available, equivalent to the MSN one about pressing the pillow harder so you can't hear a man whining. If you think the female ecard is sexist, then you should think the male ecard sexist. This is not about hating women - it is about challenging the hatred of men."

Staunch Feminist Nancy Pelosi Leads Race To Become House Minority Leader

Representative Nancy Pelosi will likely become the leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives. Pelosi is very active in spreading the myth that women are paid far less than men for the same work. She supports the discriminatory VAWA, and wants to see it more staunchly enforced. She is also very active in the campaign to ratify the radical feminist CEDAW. If she wins this post, the Democrats will have taken another step toward domination by the radical feminist agenda.

Registration required: Are sex offenders unique?

I've often wondered about the forced registration of sex offenders, when other violent criminals are not required to register with the police. This article questions the dubious reasons for forcing only sex offenders to register and have their names and addresses available to the public. It seems to me that child abusers, at the very least, should also be forced to register. Perhaps they aren't because women are the perpetrators of most physical abuse and murders of children.

An Explosion of Interest in a Commission for Men

Our goal is to obtain over 100 signed letters before November 19th. Currently, we have about 50-signed letters in support of the commission." See the Read More section below for more info. NH Men's Commission Sponsor Re-Elected

Anonymous User writes "In August and September, this site ran articles about David A. Bickford, who was running for re-election to the New Hampshire House. He won. Read about it here." That's correct - David was the primary sponsor of the NH Commission on the Status of Men bill, and due to his district changing, he had a lot of concerns about being re-elected. In the end, he actually received the most votes in the new district (of which the top eight candidates receive seats), so he couldn't have done better. Thanks in part to some of the generous donations that went to him after pleas for help appeared on this site.

MANN Chat: False Accusations - Disarming the Growing Threat

Steve writes "I will host this week's MANN chat, Wednesday night
(11/6), starting at 9:30 PM Eastern Time, at the usual location. The topic
for this chat will be 'False Accusations: Disarming The Growing Threat.'
 New
rape laws in the UK
will gravely harm a man's right to due process of
law when he is accused of rape.  This anti-male legislation is just
the latest threat to men's rights that false accusations create.  What
are we going to do to combat such threats?  How are we going to hold
false accusers accountable for their crimes?  I hope you will join us
at this week's MANN chat as we figure out the answers to these questions."
