"Pulse-ateing"

Thundercloud. writes "I recently saw a preview for the TV news show "the PULSE".
They are going to do a segment on that "contriversial" comercial for some beer company, (I think it was) that depicted two women ripping each other's clothes off in a fight in a fountain.
The question asked was; "Is this ad sexist towards women?"
It may be interesting to watch. I personally want to hear someone ask; "Why the flack over this ONE commercial that may bash women, but not a peep about the HUNDREDS of ads we see every year bashing, belittleing and humiliating MEN?" This is FOX, so Maybe, Just maybe, someone will INDEED ask that question.
I'm not sure of the exact time, but I think it is on at 9:00 pm. (8:00 pm. central) on Thursday nights.
Let's see what happens...!

A Golden Oldie: In Defense Of Men

This essay may have been linked to from MANN a couple of years ago. Even if that's the case, there may be a number of people, who didn't see it then but will see it now. Some folks may take exception to a few statements by Heather Roscoe, but on the whole the piece cracks me up.

Canadian Feminist Jurisprudence

Tor Ackman writes "Recently, the topic of the tragedy of Darrin White has been mentioned on this forum. It's no secret that Canadian jurisprudence is controlled by the feminist agenda, and is the most onerous on men in the western world. In this document
Eeva Sodhi describes how Canadian Jurisprudence has been hijacked by the feminist agenda and how Canadian courts have usurped a monopoly on 'justice' in disregard of the actual law. This four part series is fascinating and revealing. Other articles By Eeva can be found here"

DV In India

Mangesh writes "Ms Madhu Kishwar is a leading women's rights activist in India (but she refuses to call herself a feminist). The following link is a balanced article (in English) written by her on the use and misuse of DV Laws in India"

Men Who Get Hurt

The Tucson Weekly has published an article discussing the greater picture of domestic violence. Names like Pizzy, Fiebert and Corry were mentioned. Along with a great story of Fiebert getting booted of Oprah for telling, well, basically the truth. Im not sure how big this paper is, but it is showing more and more that mainstream media is breaking away from the duluth model. Read Here

Boycott Budweiser and Post-it Notes

Alan Millard writes "Post-it Note pads (3M company) has expressed many examples of prejudice and discrimination against men. Captions include: "The more I know about men, the more I like my dog," and "Men have only two faults: everything they do and everything they say." After being confronted by Men's Rights, Inc., 3M gave them a shameless if not criminalistic response, ensuring them they would continue to use their products to only bash men, and "...assured us that they would never sell a product which was equally offensive to women." Reward companies that do not practice prejudice and discrimination, perhaps as Beauatone Notes, that can replace the same product.

Budweiser is guilty of expressing extreme prejudice and abusiveness of men, especially in its Bud-light commercials. Does anyone remember in one Bud Light commercial the woman at the bar, who didn't like the man's demeanor next to her, kills the man, then tells the bartender to "keep the chains," referring to the chains left behind the poor guy had worn around his neck? Ironically, this product also provides an example of men selling out their self-worth, since this beer is often deemed the official beer of many men's sports! Explain that one. Would a product that put down women and conveyed abuse of women be sponsored and endorsed by women's sports events?"

Different Standards In Relationships

MrDave writes "Buster offers much wisdom about how women attempt to manipulate men in thousands of subtle ways. Here’s a sample from his daily blog:
“Women expect to be smiled at. They expect to be talked to. They expect some minimum level of courtesy and respect. If a man doesn't look at or talk to a woman, she thinks that there's something wrong. Women are fearful of negative attention; they take positive attention in stride. The one thing they find puzzling and disturbing is no attention at all.” For more see:

MHA's Opposition To The UN's War Against Boys

The United Nations has undertaken extensive efforts to improve the lot of girls the world over. The UN has chosen to ignore the plight of boys, however, despite the fact that boys suffer far more than girls in many countries for a variety of reasons. Men's Health America (MHA) has undertaken a campaign to reverse this terrible injustice. Here's an essay by MHA on the status of boys' health around the world. And here's an essay on UNICEF's one-sided pursuit of gender equality (as if gender equality is possible while ignoring the welfare of boys).

Let's thank the fine folks at Men's Health America and work with them as much as possible.

Is there a DV fundraiser in your area?

Trudy W. Schuett writes "This AM I wrote a letter to the editor for a friend in NoCal, in protest of a fundraiser for the local domestic violence shelter. Much to my surprise, I discovered there are similar events here in AZ on the same day. (April 26)

So if you’ve got one of these going in your area, send me the e-mail contact info for whatever paper or TV station may be sponsoring the event, along with info for any corporate or government sponsors, and I’ll send them a copy of my letter (with the correct references plugged in, of course). I’ll need the title, location and date of whatever event they’ve got going.

E-mails or the direct URL for any ‘contact us’ form, please! A lot of the corporate websites have their contact info buried, so please don’t make me work too hard! Otherwise I’m happy to do this. There’s still time to get a word in, so e-mail me direct at dsrtlite@mindspring.com with your info. I'll cc you if you like, so you can see what I said."

Women's violence against men...humorous?

Tor Ackman writes "This article http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tw/current/feat.html recently appearing in the Tucson Weekly demonstrates how women's violence against men is viewed very differently from male on female violence. Until the cloak of innocence is lifted off of women this hypocrisy will be hard to reverse."

Subtle Male Bashing in a Commercial

Anon User writes "I am sorry that I can not be specific about the product of this commercial. I can not remember the product due to the overriding message that it exudes about males' ineptness about what is under the hood of a car.

There is one white male looking under the hood of a car for a dip stick. He takes some time to look and appears puzzled. Then a black male comes to help him look for the dip stick and he can not find it either. He also appears puzzled. Then a white female is seen standing on the side of the car. She says something such as, "Have you found it yet?".

I am a female and I thought this was a bit too much....

Commercials present all types in a subtle to profound negative light. I wonder who writes the commercials and are they sensitive to their audience. If you have ever been discriminated against and,in essence, did not have the power or the forum to fight back, you would scrutinize almost every thing seen with a fine tooth comb."

Against Martha - from an unexpected source

Freebird writes "Now here is something you don't see every day - an article from a college newspaper taking Martha Burk to task for her hypocritical crusade against Augusta National. The author loses it a bit when he calls Augusta's practices "obselete" (hmm, and all-women's clubs and female-only colleges aren't? why not?) and says women should be admitted to Augusta, again offering no rationale for his position. Otherwise, a pretty good article."

Another Man Driven To Suicide Over Child Support

Luek writes "Last year in the US it was Derrick Miller who publically killed himself in California over an outrageous child support order. Now in Canada, Darren White has committed suicide because of the same misandric burden.

Just when will this insanity end?

The story"
