T-shirts that mocked violence aganist women pulled

this is not equality writes "I'll bet (my opinion) most of these women and girls felt that the David and Goliath shirts were no big deal, but look at their successful actions and comments once the tables are turned! "Any violence against women is not a good thing to be advertising" or "It's not funny."

Destiny Hunter tells men to put down remote control

Dr. Dan writes "In this Savannah Morning News article Destiny Hunter says she sought to know "why [men] struggle to say they're sorry." She concludes with apology instructions summarized with: "this means you are going to have to put down the remote and talk to your sweetheart." Stereotype alert! And guys are supposed to accept this misandrist drivel. Are women really better than men at apologizing? Do only guys have to say "I'm sorry"? I don't buy it."

Nothing "odd" about female violence!

alphamale writes "Once again, Reuters.com has an article about a woman assaulting her male partner with a weapon and has placed the article in their 'oddly enough" section. It boggles the mind how this sort of domestic violence always ends up as being considered "odd." If I were to stab my wife because I didn't want to watch some show she was watching (think "Extreme Makeover"), would the article about me stabbing her show up under the "oddly enough" section? Not likely. I'd be on the front page of every newspaper and be branded a violent, typical male who should be locked up forever. Providing yet another excuse for female chauvinists to demand that billions more should be spent on preventing violence against poor, helpless, innocent women."

Virginia Department Of Health Says....

Anonymous User writes "Men are the only ones who do anything wrong
here
"The campaign targets men age 18 to 29. The campaign hopes to change the norms around relationships with minors, making it no longer acceptable for adults to engage in sex with minors. “We encourage adult men to talk to their peers and discourage them from pursuing teenagers. What they are doing is unhealthy and against the law,” said Robert Franklin, male outreach coordinator for sexual violence prevention at the Virginia Department of Health.""

Men admit they're working too hard (England)

Anonymous User writes "Seventy per cent of men say their work is suffering because they're working too hard.

The modern euphemism, used in the survey conducted by a men's magazine with the Department of Trade and Industry, is 'work-life balance' but what it really means is that working in the country with the longest working hours in Europe is knackering.

In the survey, more than half the men questioned (52%) said their personal relationships were their main priority. Almost a quarter (23%) named their health as the main issue. Despite this they were working longer than they wanted to and didn't have time to exercise. Article

Will New Jersey overturn the ban on Ladies Night?

Anonymous User writes "Ladies Nights (where bars, etc. charge women less than they do men) have been banned in New Jersey. However, Assemblyman Joseph Cryan (D-Union) has introduced a bill that would allow facilities to have gender-based prices but "for economic purposes only". The New Jersey Restaurant Association opposed the ban on ladies' nights for reasons of revenue and the good of the community. The owner of the restaurant where the ladies night policy was originally challenged claimed that ladies nights are a benefit for men. A university professor said that ladies nights were examined by 15 states in terms of discrimination, and that 12 states banned the practice with no bad effects. None of those other states have legalized ladies nights so far. In another article, an individual claims that the man would not have challenged ladies nights if he had a girlfriend. Some men supposedly preferred places with more women. The executive director of the ACLU in NJ said that ladies nights discrimination was not as serious as discrimination against women and minorities but that she did support the ban.The second article compares ladies nights to senior discounts or McDonalds Happy Meals for kids, but virtually everyone is a kid at one time and a senior at one time, regardless of gender. On the other hand, gender itself never changes. It might be worth considering what would happen if a mens night was implemented somewhere. What would be the reaction?"

The only bad thing is, they never said anything about the father IE... where is he, his feelings, or even if he would have taken the baby so she didn't have to kill the son. Here is

Post-Father's Day slap - the Bridget Marks case

Hunchback writes "By now everyone should be aware of the Bridget Marks case, championed by the NY Daily News. This latest insult to falsely accused fathers everywhere has to be seen to be believed. The authors' book should be titled "Why Women are Running Family Court." (Letters to the Daily News should be under 60 words--written letters with name, address, and daytime phone seem to have a better chance of publication than e-letters.)"

NYTimes.com: Guess Who's Holding the Briefcase

I could hardly believe my eyes, but there it is in black and white. The New York Times itself has published this article in its Week In Review section, an article which appears to unabashedly sympathize with the plight of the "modern" married man.

Happy Father's Day!

2004 Men's Rights Congress, Day Two: Great Big Success!!

The second and final day of the 2004 Men's Rights Congress concluded today as a big success. With upwards of 50 attendees and a great list of speakers, along with a great deal of enthusiasm and a spirit of cooperation and commonness of cause, the Conference Day ended too soon.

Attendees left with a strong sense that this Congress was the start of something great. We who were part of its organization and execution certainly hope so! If you were there, you know what I mean, and thank you for attending. If not, well, you missed a great conference! :) Hope to see you next year in any case!

Oh yeah....pictures coming soon!
