TLE writes "...it will empower women. Who would have thought that HIV would be the catalyst to liberate women throughout the world? Not me, but apparently, "Many experts" say so. So do "Advocates," and "Experts at the conference..." Read the "good" news here."

mens_issues writes "I found the following misandric stories about men on ABCNews.com today. One story implies that a high ratio of males to females in some countries (e.g. India, China) is dangerous, and can lead to warlike conditions:
here
A related story suggests that men have higher mortality rates as they are genetically inferior:
over here
The first story is mitigated by suggestions that women can be violent too, while the second story ends by suggesting a push for men’s health issues.

Ray writes "Did Governor Schwarzenegger hurt all men's issues in California, when he made a "sterotypically macho/anti-macho" comment about Democrats that denigrated gays? "Girlie Men" Does Gov. S. have a "macho/chivalrous image/prejudice" that he expects all men to try to live up to? Should men be divided by Gov. S. into categories such as gay, macho, etc. for means of poiliticizing issues? Has Gov. S. crossed that line of political correctness, by uttering this clearly sexist remark about gays as Sheila Kuhel (avid men's rights opponent) says? Has Gov. S. committed sexual harassment and does he now need to be sent to sensitivity training, or are the negative reactions against Gov. S. just one more example of the rampant Heterophobia that grips the State of California?"
amperro writes "Okay, maybe this doesn't directly concern the men's movement, but California State Sen. Sheila Kuehl, a major Paternity Fraud Supporter, got a little hissy when Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger used the term "Girlie Men" to describe state legislators in this story
I guess we should all care what Sen. Kuehl thinks."

TLE writes "I know I wouldn't. Even our Republican President has caved to the rape hysteria and nominated a woman psychologist as dean of the Air Force Academy. No mention in the article about the number of false accusations at the academy."
Anything and everything to have dominion over the nearest man, ain't that right guys?

The Saneman writes "The famous trial-laywer Gerry Spence offers his insights on the Kobe Bryant trial, and how the legal system and the media unjustly favor the female accuser. Gerry Spence is a prominent figure in the US legal system, and his opinions about this case are well worth reading as he points out some fundamental problems with how these cases are dealt with in both the legal system and the media. mens_issues writes "Dan Reynolds has posted several "Women are Fools" cartoons on Daryl
Cagle's Professional Cartoonists Index! The link is
here.
While the cartoons have probably been around awhile, I wonder how
much influence Men's Issues Online and Mensactivism may have had in
this becoming a feature alongside the older "Men are Idiots/Fools."
Thanks to all of you who wrote to Dan Reynolds to complain.

An interesting commentary indeed and one you are not likely to see in mainstream press. She must be getting inundated with hate-e-mails!

mens_issues writes "A chilling story, particularly toward the end where TN considers using GPS devices on "those convicted of domestic violence or behind in child support payments." Do I hear George Orwell somewhere? 1984 was just off by a couple of decades.
Curiously, I found this at Space.com, a place I go on the internet to get away from this kind of stuff:

frank h writes "This article describes a complaint made about a senior Republican FEMALE in the White House drug policy office who is a possible candidate for the US Senate (Republican) from Illinois. She thinks it's all behind her and it ought to be forgotten. It so happens she's looking to take the candidacy that was recently vacated by one Jack Ryan, who had his divorce records unsealed by the Chicago Tribune. You remember Ryan? The one who allegedly asked his model/actress/wife for public sex at a swingers club? Waddaya think, guys? Think we should vote for her? (Naaaaaahh.)"

Here's an essay by Carey Roberts on men who are postponing marriage or flat out deciding against it. This social development may continue to grow, even as courts are forced to recognize a few of men's and fathers' rights. It's gonna be hard to get the genie back in the bottle, now that men are realizing that they can get most if not all of the benefits of marriage without tying the knot.
If and when we add safe, efficient, easily reversed male birth control to our cultural soup (and that ingredient may be tossed in soon), we're likely to see a further collapse in fertility rates. More and more men may opt out of having children -- something that was once a difficulty that also brought great joy and fulfillment but that many men now see as a one-way ticket to wage slavery.
It's taken men 10,000 years to build the comfort, health, and long lives that so many enjoy today. It may well take feminism 1% of that much time to destroy it all.
