On August 1 our elected officials began their August recess. The August recess is when they go back to their home districts and see how the political winds are blowing. And this year, our Senators and Congressmen will be meeting with persons saying that VAWA needs to be changed!

CJ writes "A woman was sentenced to 18 to 20 years in prison Tuesday for fatally stabbing her girlfriend multiple times in a hotel room in and leaving her body in a waste bin. Not suprisingly, this story was not a highly visible news story, it was buried in the back pages of the paper."

This article addresses the wage gap myth indirectly, but the implications are obvious: you can't do two different things at the same time in the same time space allotted, not unlike how two objects can't occupy the same space at the same time.

After months of hard work, our VAWA campaign has registered a major success. On Wednesday the House Judiciary Committee did its mark-up of the Violence Against Women Act and added this language to make the House bill male-inclusive.
