What will be interesting to see here is whether her treatment differs because the student is female. We've all seen so many cases lately where female teacher/male student equates to a slap on the wrist, I wonder if she'll get more because it was (shock!) a girl that suffered and not a boy. I'll try and keep a trace on this story..."

More than a hundred people left their commentaries on this topic. The absolute majority of commentators agree that it's not fair when lives of white females are valued more than other lives. But they think that it's not fair only in respect of FEMALES OF OTHER COLORS, NOT MALES. Below is a commentary reflecting the general mood:

"If the "socially concious" media made an effort to report disappearances of ALL women, it would effect what your viewers are interested in. Robert J. Shoop, professor of education at Kansas State University, has studied teacher sex abuse for 15 years and has written a book on the subject. He said his review of five years of news reports shows that male teachers are likely to get 15 to 20 years in prison, while female teachers typically are placed on probation or go to prison for one to three years.

With the number of men attending college declining, one would hope that there would be programs for men at Rutgers, but that would be politically incorrect."

A few months ago I was glancing through a Vanity Fair that my mother had bought and an advertisement for Rolex had caught my eye, or rather, the slogan had. "Ice is like a man's ego. Fun to crush." I wasn't particularly offended, but I believed that it was a horrible message to be sending to women. I have not been able to locate a contact for them to comment on it directly and I'm not sure if anyone has yet even if the advertisement is old, it is out of turn.
