AngryMan writes "Interesting article in New Scientist about ADHD. "Now reports are coming in of serious adverse reactions, including hallucinations and, in rare suspected cases, sudden death from cardiovascular problems...10 per cent of 12-year-old boys in the US, where diagnosis of ADHD is more common than in most other countries, are being treated for the condition" And how many girls?"

This BBC news report adds a critical missing piece of information about the recent story regarding the Afghan man who, after converting to Christianity, was held for trial on charges of apostasy. It appears as if he had converted sixteen years ago and had left Kabul, but returned from the Panjshir Valley to try to get custody of his daughters. Only then after his relatives complained was he arrested for the crime of choosing his own "unacceptable" religious beliefs! This important piece of information of course only comes toward the end of the report, so read the whole article.

Joe Manthey writes "Article here. Excerpt:
'Joe Manthey: "If you look at who is filling up our jails, our juvenile halls, our prisons; who is more likely to be homeless; who is more likely to commit suicide; who is more likely to commit crimes; who is more likely to be institutionalized; it's boys and men."
'Manthey says men who make it to college don't get the same kind of encouragement women do. For example, most universities have support organizations for women, but nothing specifically for men -- even though the women are often doing better.'"

Tirryb writes "BBC News reports here that apparently there is almost no justice for victims of rape, with less than 1 in 20 accused of rape being convicted and with those horrible men still able to defend themselves in court and 'get away with it'.
Of course all the usual excuses are trotted out - institutional sexism (she flirted so she deserved it), old fashioned judges, men bamboozling the jury with expert witnesses, etc. And not even a mention of the possibility of a growth in false accusations.
Then right at the end, the shock figure - only 15% of rapes ever get reported. Yeah, right."

Anonymous User writes "This article/propaganda piece printed for the feminists by the Times Union is a scathing attack on the shared parenting bill currently before the New York legislature. This bill would provide for automatic shared parenting in all New York divorces. This would be a devastating setback for the feminists who worked long and hard to eliminate fathers from families, separate them from thier children, and ensure that they serve as permanent wage slaves for women. NOW can't have this, so predictly the "article" is filled with usual lies and distortions used so often by the feminazis. Read it, get mad and rip Marcia Pappas a new one."

James Adams writes "I have collated citations to all the published research I could find supporting the case that children suffer without their fathers for our Government's enquiry on the Family Law ("Feminist Law"?). It lists hundreds of citations, running to 80 pages. Please download a copy of the document from the Australian Government website. This is submission no. 110 [main (.pdf file) and attachment (.pdf file)].
This was part of our campaign for a presumption of equal parenting time in Australia by Fathers4Equality-australia.org, the Non Custodial Parents Party, Dads In Distress, the Fatherhood Foundation, the Men's Rights Agency and not least the Shared Parenting Council of Australia (especially Yuri Joakimidis). Debate is continuing in our parliament (upper house).
Hope grows!

Return of the King writes "In an about-face from decades ago, boys' grades lag behind those of girls, and boys go to college in far fewer numbers than they did even 20 years ago while female enrollment has skyrocketed. In Part One of a four-part series that outlines the plight of boys in education, the reporters fail to point out that decades of one sided sexist advocacy favoring girls alone from a federal level on down IS the reason for the failure of boys in school. Women's advocates say pay equity should be a higher priority than boys' lagging achievement while 38% of Maine undergraduates are male and they drop out of school in higher numbers as well..."

It seems that population restoration efforts for animals may encourage the development of artificial wombs.
According to this article populations of gray nurse sharks may be replenished in part through the use of artificial wombs within 10 years.
