Canada's New Democratic Party (a party that cannot seem to gather more than 20% of the vote in any given election) put out this press release criticizing the current Conservative government for failing to ensure that the mandate of a number of women's organizations will survive into the near future.
Don't count on the Conservatives getting rid of such groups, however, as they are well aware that most Canadians are brainwashed into believing that women are oppressed and that these groups actually stand for equality. Like every political party, the Conservatives just want the most votes.

BIAS AGAINST MEN STILL APPEARS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST PROMINENT DISPLAYS AT SAN DIEGO’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF FAMILY VIOLENCE, 2006
The annual International Conference of Family Violence took place this past week (Sept. 14 thru 19) in San Diego, California. Visual #1 I was not able to attend every day that the conference was open, but made it for the entire day on the 18th.
How much taxpayer money was used by participants, and, or exhibitors, in the furtherance of this event is anybody’s guess, considering what a business minded person would describe as “questionable VAWA accounting methods.” In my opinion, it appeared that a very significant number of people in attendance where people who have directly benefited from the billions of dollars of taxpayer’s money that has funded VAWA over the years.
The Conference consisted of numerous exhibition booths set up in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom, and break out workshops in other meeting rooms. The workshops addressed various issues surrounding family violence.

At last, something positive about men in the world of literature!
I found this book, Men's Rights Activists by Steeves Volmar. It's a good read, very encouraging, realistic and helpful. All about men's issues from biased laws to courts, etc.
I'd recommend to all of you!

Truly horrendous abuse case here. Not just (just?!) the physical abuse of scalding but the mental abuse too:
"A mother poured boiling water over her five-year-old son after he annoyed her by playing a game and asking questions about his father, a court has heard."

This story should come as no surprise.
"If this was a 29-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, I would be inclined to order some incarceration," noted 3rd District Judge Mark Kouris during sentencing yesterday for Cameo Patch."

As predicted, after conquering liberal arts, they have targeted the sciences. Read all about it here. I feel sorry for the old fuddy-duddy professors in their labs at night-- do they have any idea what is about to hit them?

Check out this story. An innocent man spent time in jail for a sexual offence he never committed. His accuser has a shocking history of false accusations. Yet she remains anonymous.
He was convicted by Northamptonshire police in England. Here is their feedback form. Please send them your comments.

"HUNKY teenage labourer Joe Norman was sacked from a building site at a girls school — for driving pupils into a frenzy.
The 18-year-old, who had spent the summer helping to build an extension, started getting wolf-whistles when classes resumed after the holidays."
Story here.

FINALLY, a false accuser is actually going to do time -- and in the UK, too! Congrats UK!
A teenager who entertained four men in a Cardiff Bay flat with a private lap dance - which was filmed on a mobile phone - has been sent to jail for crying rape. Cinzia Sannino, 18, of Llanishen, Cardiff, was locked up for six months at Cardiff Crown Court after she admitted making false allegations
See the article here -- it's a good read.

Men: Continue to work yourselves to death.
According to this CNN article, it is very important for women to take care of themselves and spend some time on themselves. Mind you, they recommend this if the woman is "single or married, childless or mothers".
But only if your female. While it's obvious that EVERYONE could benifit from spending some time on themselves, apparenly CNN thinks that only women are worthy of it. Why, in an health article that could obviously benifit both genders, is it represented as a woman's issue?

This is one of the most frightening stories I have ever read. The man loses his penis in an accident -- gets a new one in the first ever of its kind surgery. But... "although the operation was a surgical success, surgeons said they had to remove the penis two weeks later. "Because of a severe psychological problem of the recipient and his wife, the transplanted penis regretfully had to be cut off," Dr Hu said."
Even more disturbing, AND I QUOTE: "...The question is whether it's right to be doing a transplant for what may be seen as cosmetic reasons."
Thank God health insurance companies pay for breast implants after breast cancer in women...

This woman repeatedly made false rape allegations. The prosecution witheld this information from the defence lawyers and an innocent man spent 3 years in prison. After his conviction was thrown out by the appeal court, he gets no apology from the police or crown prosecution service, and she still gets to keep her anonymity - so she can get another innocent guy thrown in jail?

I hope to see more articles about this obvious double standard. Watching The Today Show interview, I noticed the rapist (divorced by her husband) has seemingly kept the house with an impressive swimming pool. Can her ex-husband petition the court to force this rapist to take back her maiden name?

Notice how the associated press only one time* in this entire article made reference to the suspect being a female. ("...any woman who talked about wanting a child or acted pregnant recently.") If you take that line out of the story, you would have no idea it was a female. The words "Attacker", "Abducter", and "Someone" were used instead of directly stating "woman".
------
* Ed. note: Actually there was one other reference: 'They fought after the woman told Ochsenbine "I'm here to take your child,"'. But that one was the only other such reference I could find, and I agree the word 'man' would have appeared a lot more had the suspect been known to be male rather than female.

This and most other similar news reports are careful to avoid saying it, but every once in a while it slips by that all these victims are men:
Latest one here from BBC:
"Forty-seven bodies have been found across Baghdad, police say, raising the total number of corpses found in recent days in the Iraqi capital to 176.
Many of the victims had been tortured or shot in the head or chest."
