Essay: Senate Republicans Should Fend Off U.N. Feminist Treaty

Essay here.

Phyllis Schlafly...another individual who I personally feel is an ally towards our movement...

Excerpt:
"The notion is downright ridiculous that American women (the most fortunate class of people who ever lived) should submit to a treaty that dictates uniform rules for 185 other nations, all of which treat women worse than the United States. Ratification of conventions would be craven kowtowing to radical feminists, exceeded only by the treaty's unlimited capacity for legal mischief."

Male Russian soldiers (abused and) 'used for sex'

Why must "used for sex" be in quotes as the headline?! Here we have a group of men forced into prostitution, brutally abused and eventually had their genitals mutilated.

How soon will this end up in a UN human rights abuses report or as part of a major report on the sexual exploitation of men in the world.

Of course the question was rhetorical as we know the answer will be never....

Kenya: Uncircumcised pupils sent home

Warning for parents in sub-Saharan Africa: Failing to subject your sons to MGM can lead to denial of education, law or no law. Story here.

Wonder if there would be a mere shrug of the shoulders in response were these pupils girls? "But," some say, "what if circumcision actually does decrease HIV transmission?" Well, so would FGM, too, by the same reasoning: reduction of mucosa, surface area, etc. But that's no excuse-- or is it? Apparently when talking about boys, it is. Excerpt:

"The pupils were told not to return until they had completed the procedure.

'Please do the needful within two weeks and let your son report back to school with you immediately he is well,' a letter to parents from the school said.

Circumcision is not obligatory for admission to secondary school, but a study released in December said it reduced the risk of contracting HIV/Aids."

A Gift Lures An Unsuspecting Dad To His Death

Story here. Excerpt:

'Jarrod Davidson was gunned down outside of his Santa Barbara apartment in July 2004, after someone had left what he thought was a gift — a potted plant — at his front door.

As 48 Hours correspondent Maureen Maher reports, Jarrod, 27, was going through a nasty custody battle at the time of his murder.
...
Jarrod Davidson was going to go back to court to try to get full custody of that girl," says Sorenson. "And that is the last thing they wanted to have happen."

"They wanted him out of their lives. They wanted him out of the picture," the detective claims.

Just 19 days before that hearing, Jarrod was murdered.'

"V-Day should stand for more than just vaginas"

Essay here. Excerpt:

"As Valentine's Day approaches, tradition suggests images of gentlemen ordering flowers for a special someone and of ladies planning a romantic night on the town. This year, however, students on many college campuses are rethinking these traditional displays of affection in favor of "V-Day." But don't bother looking for the term "V-Day" inside any of your Valentine's Day cards, because Cupid has been kicked off campus."

RADAR ALERT: Take Back Valentine's Day from the Abuse Industry

We here at RADAR would like your help to make sure that Valentine's Day retains it's traditional value as a special time to celebrate and enjoy the love, honor and respect that most men and women still hold for each other.

We need your help because some revisionists are using 'The Vagina Monologues' play as a vehicle for hate and condemnation, and a new, inappropriate symbol for Valentine's Day. They want the V of February 14th to be remembered, instead, as a symbol condemning men as being insensitive, cruel, abusive, stupid and uncaring. Worse, 'The Vagina Monologues' is disingenuous. It rightfully condemns male/female rape, but wrongfully celebrates female/female rape. See: http://www.ifeminists.net/introduction/editorials/2004/0127.html.

Annually, hundreds of showings of the 'The Vagina Monologues are performed around the country every year – mostly on college campuses. And hundreds of editorials trumpet an unseemly level of respect for these hate-filled offerings.

Amazon.com Promotes Violence Against Men as V's Day Fun

Amazon.com is running a female-oriented Valentine's Day promotion on their homepage that promotes violence against men. As always, this hate is billed as "simply humor" and "not to be taken seriously". We all know the score on that one, but the fact remains that Amazon.com now has a photograph of the, "man-shaped knife holder" on its homepage.
