UK: Police apologize to male rape victim

Story here. Excerpt:

"South Wales Police yesterday apologised to a male rape victim after the Independent Police Complaints Commission ruled officers did not at first appreciate the seriousness of the man’s allegation.
...
By failing to properly preserve the potential crime scene South Wales Police did not serve Mr Cole or the people of South Wales well in this instance.”

The report found an officer who should have attended the scene did not do so, another “was not conscientious and diligent” and another did not appreciate the seriousness of the allegation at first."

Anti-Male Gadget attached to toilet seats in Germany

The female activists are at it again--with their war on men--and this time they have even invaded public bathrooms. That's right PUBLIC bathrooms for MEN are being haunted by a new device known as Spuk which says in a rather rude voice(once the toilet seat is lifted) "Hey, stand-peeing is not allowed here and will be punished with fines, so if you don’t want any trouble, you’d best sit down" or "Excuse me, but there’s a penalty for peeing while standing in this house,” it warns culprits. “You’d better not risk any problems and sit down!”

If the customer is adamant about retaining his right to use the bathroom the way men usually do he gets this(in a female flight attendants voice): "We welcome you aboard Never Come Back Airlines,” the voice says. “We’d like to ask our male passengers in particular to sit down, buckle up and refrain from smoking.”

The small gadget is made to look like a ghost. You can read more on Spuk (and see the actual gadget which fits under the toilet seat lid) here.

Another Man Maimed By A Woman, Another "Cute" Headline, Another Slap On The Wrist

After blinding her boyfriend by stabbing him in the left eye six years ago, the same woman stabbed him in both eyes earlier this year. The latest pair of attacks damaged his vision in the one eye she spared during the first attack and drew blood from the eye she destroyed six years ago. Story here.

Notice the "cute" headline? Or the fact that the woman only received a 6-month sentence for blinding the man in one eye and reducing his vision 20% in the other in a total of three attacks? Or that the courts chose to ignore a clear pattern of domestic violence resulting in grave injuries over a period of years when passing sentence on the woman?

Yeah, I'm sure that 6-month sentence will send a message - the same message it sends when the media chooses to make the murder, mutilation and maiming of men by their wives and girlfriends a joke. How anyone could expect men to take violence against women any more seriously than women are expected to take violence against men is beyond me.

How The Women's Movement Taught Women to Hate Men by Erin Pizzey

Essay here. Excerpt:

"I got a letter from the women's liberation office, throwing me out and banning me from attending any of the collectives. The so-called women's liberation' movement spread like a cancer across the English chattering classes. I visited the houses of feminist women with my son who carried his action man toys. In their houses there was no vestige of anything 'boyish' at all. No Tonka trucks, no boys toys — nothing that could encourage a boy to think of himself as masculine. The whole idea of men and masculinity in those houses, we considered disgusting. We, the mothers, sat around the kitchen tables rearranging the world according to Marx."

"Boys Should Be Girls" by Dick Meyer

Essay here. Excerpt:

"In the big picture, I don't see that this is any special problem. I know there is a lot of worrying going on, though. There's even a view that colleges practice covert affirmative action for boys just to get them up to the unimpressive current levels. If women are better at school or if they develop faster, why is that a problem society needs to fiddle with? Except for historical bias against women educationally, they probably would have been in the majority ever since Socrates gave tutorials."

England: Do primary schools let boys down?

Story here. Excerpt:

"'The teaching profession in primaries is dominated by women who, with the best will in the world, will tend to deliver a larger proportion of the curriculum in teaching styles that make most sense to them - and therefore favour the girls.'
...
Some experts suggest that teachers are deliberately getting pupils labelled as having special needs with reading, for example, because it is an easy way of getting a difficult child out of the classroom for a while."

Carey Roberts: Equal Pay for Equal Work at Wimbledon?

Essay here. Excerpt:

'So aficionados who wanted to see the quarter finals at Wimbledon ponied up $3,590 to see the men, compared to only $1,590 to see the women. Even at twice the price, the men's tickets sold out sooner.

Sports columnist Alan Mascarenhas has concluded that by almost all criteria, "women's tennis is an inferior product." So if the ladies are bringing in far less revenue but taking home just as much money as the guys, where is their money coming from?

You guessed it -- out of the men's pockets.

So next time you see Hillary climb on to her equal-pay-for-equal-work soapbox, let's ask her this question: "Does three equal five?"'

New Zealand: If You Report Your Wife's Attacks on You, They Take Away Your Kids

Report here. Excerpt:

"The police appear reluctant to leave the children in the father's care, even though he's the victim of the alleged assault, with the result that the father refuses to make a statement, thus allowing the children to stay at home and the mother to escape the consequences of her actions.

"If the genders were reversed," says Mrs Turner, "and the father was charged with assaulting the mother, I'm certain the police would have no hesitation in locking up Dad and leaving the children with Mum."

Italy: No Men Allowed on Beach

And the list grows of women-only places created with government sanction...

Story here. Excerpt:

'And it happens all the time. Boy meets girl and boy annoys girl. So, the Italians have enacted an interesting solution to this problem. They have created a beach strictly for women. No men, children or loud disco music are allowed.
...
Women can enjoy the sun, sea and sand without the lustful leers of men.
...
The beach does have one man.

"The lifeguard must be a man," Ravaglio said in a foreign newspaper interview. "You clearly need a man to save women in the sea. It's a question of muscles."'

NOW Prez Says More Female Execs = Greater Profits

Article here.

In a recent address promoting greater media diversity, N.O.W.'s president Kim Gandy claims that simply having more women in management creates increased profits:

'"And as you see in any business … more women in management increases the bottom line for stockholders. ... Let's face it --the men behind the curtain -- in this case the white men behind the curtain -- are most comfortable hiring people who look, and talk, and think just like them. And that's not good for the rest of us.

... having more women owners, executives, news directors and so on -- is its own reward for the women you are employing and for their families and for society as a whole. ... But the icing on the cake is that, in the end, employing more women in the media creates a more vibrant public marketplace of ideas."'

Hmmm. If that were true, why would any intelligent capitalist firm wishing to maximize profits employ male managers? (Also note Gandy's blatant sexism, racism, and complete lack of credible supporting data for her assertions ... )

Babysitter murders baby girl, blames boyfriend

Story here. Excerpt:

"A baby girl died at the hands of her babysitter after suffering injuries consistent with being swung and thrown against a wall, a court has heard.

Lynn Jeffrey, 37, of Nelson, Lancashire, is accused of murdering 11-month-old Courtney Ann Shales in a 'brutal and callous attack'.
...
Ms Jeffrey was arrested at the hospital and when interviewed by police maintained the account that Courtney had fallen down the stairs.

Mr O'Byrne said her account had since changed and she was now saying that Mr Elliott inflicted the injuries.

Tony Cross QC, cross examining, suggested that Mr Elliot had been in an aggressive mood because he had been asked to babysit."
