No passports for 'deadbeats'

Video story here.

Basically, if a man (err, sorry, NCP) owes more than a certain amount by order of a court to his child's (or someone else's) mother, he doesn't get a passport. Without one of course, he can neither enter another country nor re-eneter this one. So much for the right of travel and passage that "all Americans" are supposed to have.

Men writing on gender issues: Beware!

Story here. Excerpt:

'Earlier this month, members of the International Academy of Sex Research, gathering for their annual meeting in Vancouver, informally discussed one of the most contentious and personal social science controversies in recent memory.

The central figure, J. Michael Bailey, a psychologist at Northwestern University, has promoted a theory that his critics think is inaccurate, insulting and potentially damaging to transgender women.
...
The hostilities began in the spring of 2003, when Dr. Bailey published a book, “The Man Who Would Be Queen,” intended to explain the biology of sexual orientation and gender to a general audience.

New CDC study: "Men Shouldn't Be Overlooked as Victims of Partner Violence"

This article in Psychiatric News should be distributed to as many editors, politicians, educators etc. as possible. Excerpt:

'In addressing intimate partner violence, the focus is usually on women who are physically battered by husbands or boyfriends. However, women sometimes hurt their partners as well.

Women are doing virtually everything these days that men are - working as doctors, lawyers, and rocket scientists; flying helicopters in combat; riding horses in the Kentucky Derby. And physically assaulting their spouses or partners.

In fact, when it comes to nonreciprocal violence between intimate partners, women are more often the perpetrators.'

GreenStone Media about to be shut down, Fonda and Steinem not paying employees

Story here. Excerpt:

'GreenStone Media debuted with a splash a year and a half ago, with ambitious plans to target what was perceived to be a potentially huge market -- talk radio for women -- and high-powered financial backers.

The ending will be considerably quieter. Unless executives of GreenStone can cobble together a last-minute financial rescue, the network will sign off Friday.'

RADAR ALERT: Submit Video Questions For Republican CNN YouTube Debate

The Republican CNN YouTube Debate is currently scheduled for November 28, 2007. The YouTube format, in which anyone can submit a question for the candidates in a video uploaded to YouTube, presents a perfect opportunity for RADAR supporters to bring much needed attention to some of the issues RADAR addresses. As stated at youtube.com, http://www.youtube.com/debates, “The CNN political team will choose the most creative and compelling videos, and if yours is one of them, you may get the chance to fly to Tampa to watch the debate live and offer your reactions on video afterward.”

YouTube gives the following advice for your video being chosen:

Sexual Harassment charges against 13-year-olds dropped

Article here. Excerpt:

'Two 13-year-old boys accused of slapping girls' bottoms and poking or cupping girls' breasts at school apologized on Monday as a judge dismissed charges against the two, ending a six-month case that drew national attention.'

Great news! Not a complete victory though:

'The News-Register newspaper of McMinnville reported that a "civil compromise" reached by prosecutors and the defense called for both boys to apologize, to pay each of the four girls $250 and to complete a "boundaries education" program.'

Of course, the girls that were playing this game will not have to do the program or pay money (or will even be acknowledged as guilty as well). At least the boys will not be filed as sex offenders for the rest of the lives.

Lincoln Memorial Protest Covered by UK Media, not US

Curious, huh? The Lincoln Memorial protesters are covered in the UK MSM but not in the US. Wonder why? Story here. Excerpt:

'Two British Fathers 4 Justice activists were arrested at gunpoint by a Swat team at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, said the campaign founder.

A support crew of four were also held as the memorial was evacuated by US authorities.

British activists Jolly Stanesby and Mike Downes organised and performed the protest, with support by US colleagues on the ground, a Fathers 4 Justice spokesman said.'

Go ahead, Google "Fathers 4 Justice Lincoln Memorial" and see if you get any US MSM coverage. Not a single hit.

A June Video Interview with Donald Tenn of F4J, U.S. (arrested yesterday)

I was shocked this morning to read the news that Donald Tenn and three (3) other Fathers are being held in custody in Washington, D.C., following an alleged attempt by the Fathers to exercise constitutionally protected free speech rights.

I listened to one of the posted videos of the event, and heard a guard repeatedly say, "Don't give them any attention," or words to that effect. I guess those words say a lot about the attitude shown to Fathers, regarding many of their rights.

UK: Boys underachieving at school

Story here. Excerpt:

'But today's study says white, working-class boys are most at risk of underachieving. Of the 33,404 white boys eligible for free school meals, just 37 per cent can read and write properly at 14. This compares with 57 per cent of working-class white girls and 46 per cent of black boys.

Chris Skidmore, the Bow Group chairman and the report's author, said: "This study reveals the shocking underachievement of boys at every stage. If we want to raise standards in schools, tackling these problems early on is crucial - the half of all boys who fail at 11 are the same half of all boys failing at GCSE and beyond.'

D.C. S.W.A.T. Team Called On F4J Protestors

On Glenn Sacks: This is probably not good publicity, but at least it shows that we're serious!

-ax

Excerpt:
'Fatherhood activist Bob Norton was present yesterday when two Fathers 4 Justice activists beached security and climbed onto the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. He sent me the following eye-witness account of the incident:

"I was at the Lincoln Memorial today and witnessed and filmed two F4J UK folks climb into Abe Lincoln’s lap at the Lincoln Memorial. I was detained for about an hour by park police and a SWAT team arrived quickly thereafter. Although they were respectful to me, they patted me down three times and I told them I did not consent to any search.'
