Summations in Case of Baby Cut From Womb

Story here. As usual, the excuses abound. Excerpt:

'KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Defense attorneys say Lisa Montgomery is a mentally ill woman who sincerely believed she was pregnant when she killed an expectant mother and cut the baby from her womb.

Prosecutors call her a liar who spent months researching Caesarean sections on the Internet before attacking Bobbie Jo Stinnett on Dec. 16, 2004, in the northwest Missouri town of Skidmore. They say Stinnett was conscious and trying to defend herself as Montgomery used a kitchen knife to crudely cut the baby from her womb.

Both sides will make their cases to jurors during closing arguments Monday.'

RADAR ALERT: Agenda for VAWA Reform Defines Issues for 2008 Elections

Two weeks ago RADAR released an explosive new Special Report (.pdf file) that reveals domestic violence programs are usually ineffective, often unwanted, and sometimes harmful in reducing partner violence.

Today RADAR is releasing the Agenda for VAWA Reform, a blueprint for reforming the Violence Against Women Act. Although the focus of the Agenda is on VAWA, most of the problems also apply to state-level laws.

The Agenda for VAWA Reform is based on extensive research of the effects domestic violence laws, as well as recommendations from members of the VAWA Reform Coalition. The Agenda for VAWA Reform identifies 8 problem areas:

Father learns about son's death on the news, as ex-wife left no new address

Article here. Excerpt:

'He said he was serving in the Army at the time, and had returned home on leave one weekend to find that his ex-wife and children had moved house, leaving no new address.

Mr Prestwich said he had tried to trace them through the Child Support Agency (CSA) but was told details could not be given out due to the Data Protection Act.'

Shock: Women suffering a housing crisis

I was horrified to read this article, from News.com.au (Australia).

Apparently, women have been marginalized and abandoned in the housing crisis, which is currently affecting Australia. Currently rental prices and new purchase prices are getting higher as a percentage of average income, making it hard for many people to get a place - but apparently this affects women more than us pampered, in-control men.

Excerpt:
'A report by Flinders University's Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute found that two-thirds of those who received government rent assistance were women. This was related to the fact that there were six times the number of female primary carers than male.

Researcher Selina Tually said that "joining the dots" between other statistics - including how women comprise more than 66 per cent of public housing tenants and generally have fewer assets, lower income and less superannuation than men - reinforced the vulnerability of women to housing stress, especially in cases of family breakdown.

Mother murders boy, stuffs him in suitcase

This story has horrified us here in Australia.

A few days ago kids playing in a park found a suitcase floating in a pond. They landed it and opened it, to find the body of a young boy, naked, with a plastic bag over his head.

Police have now arrested the mother, who is on parole, and it turns out the boy was the subject of a custody battle.

Interestingly, not a single quote or comment relating to the father all the way through the article - I guess father's don't really count too much, when their children are murdered - we don't really have feelings, do we guys?

One thing I forgot to mention in prior post is that, as noted at the bottom of each Feminist Farm CafePress page, proceeds from the site will go to men's and women's organizations that work for fair treatment of women AND men.

CafePress has an affiliates program that pays 20% of each product's *markup price* (i.e. NOT 20% of the product price). Please contact me at feministfarm-at-cox.net if you or your group is interested in becoming an affiliate member.

AP: Sexual misconduct plagues US schools

Article here. Almost no reference at all to female teachers molesting students. Only one mention in the entire article:

'• Rebecca A. Boicelli, a former teacher in Redwood City, Calif. She conceived a child with a 16-year-old former student then went on maternity leave in 2004 while police investigated. She was hired to teach in a nearby school district; board members said police hadn't told them about the investigation.'

Hillary's Shakedown of Chinese Immigrants

Wow, read this. So she got all that money from poor Chinese immigrants? Or were they just told to say they gave her that money, or was it given to them to give to her?

Egad. I haven't seen news like this since Chicago in the 20s (not that I was alive back then, but...). Excerpt:

'All three locations, along with scores of others scattered throughout some of the poorest Chinese neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx, have been swept by an extraordinary impulse to shower money on one particular presidential candidate -- Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.'

"Feminists Have More Fun"

Latest news from feminist academia:

"Feminism boosts sexual satisfaction for both men and women, a new study suggests.

Busting stereotypes that peg feminists as men-haters, a new study shows that having a feminist partner is linked with healthier, more romantic heterosexual relationships.

The study, published online this week in the journal Sex Roles, relied on surveys of both college students and older adults, finding that women with egalitarian attitudes do find mates and men do find them attractive. In fact, results reveal they are having a good time, maybe a better time than the non-feminists."

LiveScience: Competing over women for sex may cause men to die earlier

This article says "In humans and many other animals, males age faster and die earlier than females. New research suggests this might happen because of intense competition over sex."

So competing over women for sex may cause you to die early? Even more of a reason NOT to do it. Chasing women is bad for your health. Thank you LiveScience!

Ohio Proposes Paternity Consent for Abortion Law

In a bill that feminists are calling unconstitutional, the Ohio state legislature has introduced H.B. 287 which would require that a woman seeking to terminate a pregnancy must obtain the written consent of the father. In cases where she does not know who the father is (due to having multiple sex partners), a paternity test would be mandatory. Obviously this poses an aggressive legal challenge to the feminist monopoly over birth control and “choice” in reproductive rights.

Steinem Interview Neglects Male DV Victims

Posted for Marc A.

The Capitol Times in Wisconsin just printed an interview with Gloria Steinem.

They asked about NCFM's claim that male victims were neglected in the domestic violence discussions. True to form, Steinem downplayed the seriousness of the problem and said male victims are mostly elder abuse. Amazing! Steinem knows that isn't true, of course. In addition to all the research we have sent her from the Centers for Disease Control, etc., Harvard Medical School just recognized that women initiate domestic violence at least as much as men among heterosexuals between ages 18-28 (hardly "elderly").
See Harvard article here.
