Divorce still damaging to children despite being more acceptable

Article here. Excerpt:

'Divorce remains equally damaging to a child's prospects in life despite having become more common and more socially acceptable, researchers say.

A study run over several decades has shown that children whose parents split up are more likely to end up without qualifications, claiming benefits and suffering depression.
...
Summarising the effects of divorce, the report says it "has repercussions that reverberate through childhood and into adulthood."

The report says: "Children from disrupted families tend to do less well in school and subsequent careers than their peers. They are also more likely to experience the break-up of their own partnerships."'

Australia: PM: Neal's treatment not sexist

Story here. Excerpt:

"PRIME Minister Kevin Rudd says a Labor backbencher is wrong to suggest sexism is behind the way MP Belinda Neal has been treated.

Mr Rudd spoke to Ms Neal yesterday and she agreed to undergo anger management counselling after allegations about confrontations in a bar and on the sports field.

Julia Irwin, the Labor MP for the Sydney seat of Fowler, asked whether Ms Neal's gender was an issue in her treatment.

"Why is it that women are singled out by reporting of these instances. Why not the men?" Ms Irwin said on ABC radio today.

Mr Rudd said that was not the case."

...........................................
Original story about the incident here.

"Your child will turn into a demon, you have such evil thoughts," Ms Neal is alleged to have told the heavily pregnant backbencher.

CBS: "Horrors" Found In Tween, Teen Dating

Story here. Just look at the picture in the story and you'll see why I submitted this. While boys are never blamed in the article, its obvious they're being targeted as the problem. I wonder which feminist organizations conducted this report? Excerpt:

"Tweens and teens in dating relationships are experiencing significant levels of various forms of abuse, many don't know the warning signs of an abusive relationship, and many parents don't know what's going on in those relationships, a new survey says."

Ask Mr. Dad: Protecting yourself from paternity fraud

Article here. Excerpt:

"Your goal is to avoid becoming a victim of "Paternity Fraud." This is when a mother lies about who a child's father is for the purposes of monetary gain. In your case, you could be on the hook for 18 or more years of child support for a child or children who aren't yours.

The bad news is that paternity fraud is not uncommon. The American Association of Blood Banks found that 30 percent of the men in paternity tests are ruled out as the biological father (other studies put that number at 25 percent).
...
Unfortunately, even challenging paternity within the window doesn't guarantee that you'll avoid being defrauded. In many states, when a child is born during a marriage, the husband is presumed to be the father - biology is irrelevant. So even if DNA shows that he's not the father, he'll still owe child support."

NY Post: Cheating Husband 'A'-OK with corporate sponsors

Essay here. Would we ever see a woman chastised to this extent because of an affair? At this point it's not substantiated but the media doesn't care. It's interesting and disturbing how their associating rape and domestic violence with this situation. It seems the author of this article believes Alex Rodriguez should be shamed and cast aside by these corporate endorsements. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when a wife cheats on her husband she's the victim because he was an 'unloving' man who drove her to an affair. A man is simply considered pig. Excerpt:

Essay: Feminism and the Glass Ceiling

Feminism and the Glass Ceiling

Since WWII, employers in both Canada and the United States have been hiring and training only women for white collar staff and supervisory positions because women cannot be drafted into the military in the event of a major war. During WWII those corporations lost a lot of their staff expertise to the military as their then male employees left for the war so after the war they imposed anti-male hiring policies to preclude similar future staff losses.

It is for this reason and no other that so many white collar corporations in North America have such a high percentage of female white collar workers and this status quo seems likely to remain for some time.

It is also for this reason that the so called "Glass Ceiling" exists. Senior executive males in executive boardrooms were not going to implement hiring policies which gave all the staff and supervisory positions to women as a corporate hiring hedge and then give women all the management and executive positions too. Unfortunately, this looks like a perk of most corporations being lead by men; men lead the corporations hence they do things the way they like.

Latest AmEx Commercial to Offend Men

There is a commercial running now for the American Express business card showing a man at an airport counter buying a ticket for an important business trip. He plans to pay for it by credit card, but the woman behind the counter sees that the card has a picture of cats on it. this does not meet with her approval [apparently not manly enough for her judgmentally sexist mind] and she signals for two guards to come over and take him away.

One of the guards is a woman who puts on rubber gloves for the obvious reason. Does anyone think that this company would run an ad showing a male guard putting on rubber gloves to examine a female customer. Of course not! I called the company and spoke to a customer service rep who agreed with me and would pass on my comments to management. I also intend to call the advertising department to voice my concern about this issue. I hope others will join me. Contact info here.

Ed. note: Someone please provide a link to the commercial on-line, if available. I went looking for it but could not find it.

MSN article about women who are turned on by money

I thought you might find this article interesting. It’s about women who find money to be an aphrodisiac:

There are a three interesting things about this article that call into question certain things we’ve been taught about men and women.

1. Men are often portrayed as the shallower of the sexes, i.e., only interested in looks, while women are portrayed as more emotional and concerned about sensitivity and feelings. Yet, the author states “…if I'm gut-wrenchingly honest with myself, the only reason that I agreed to go out with TFB in the first place -- and the reason I stayed so long -- was that he was loaded.”

Recanting domestic violence allegations goes to NV supreme court

Story here. A family court judge gets off after his girlfriend recants her testimony and admits she rubbed her own face on the rug. Meanwhile a retired naval commander is found guilty even after his wife recants her testimony and admits she pulled out her own hair. Man is intent on taking case to Nevada Supreme Court to set a "bright line" standard on recanted allegations. Excerpt:

'Nearly two years ago, Family Court Judge Steven Jones was acquitted of a domestic battery charge after his live-in girlfriend recanted the previous statements she had given in the case.

A month earlier, retired Navy commander Dennis Sarfaty was convicted of the same misdemeanor despite the fact that his wife had recanted her prior statements.

The seemingly conflicting verdicts came from two different judges in Henderson Municipal Court, and Sarfaty's lawyer now wants the Nevada Supreme Court to decide which one was right.'

Ireland: Medical crisis grows as female GPS avoid full-time posts

Story here. Excerpt:

'THE MEDICAL manpower crisis is even worse than previously estimated, with patients almost certain to experience difficulty accessing GP services, new research has shown.

Researchers from the department of primary care and public health at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) have found that women GPs are only half as likely to work full-time at partnership level as male doctors.
...

Female doctors also worked fewer unsociable hours, with 51 per cent of female graduates involved in co- operatives and out-of-hours work, compared with 84 per cent of male doctors who worked nights and weekends.
...
But a senior medical source described the study as "a severe wake-up call. Clearly we have got the balance wrong gender-wise. We must now rectify this because political correctness will not look after patients."'

Times Of India poll report for "Is the law biased against men?"

Article here. Excerpt:

'...we looked at how the court’s decision to ask a man to compensate his live-in partner for not marrying her had opened a Pandora’s box. ... the section of society that is the most worried, or rather, outraged by some of the recent changes in Indian law, is no doubt the men. ... men seem to have been shortchanged by the entire judicial process. Or so the responses of our readers, bloggers, and a cross section of men we spoke to leads us to believe.

...As one reader writes, "I am astonished that the Indian judiciary system is run by backward thinkers. What is the itch to 'protect' women and make them even 'weaker'? In the Western world all this is not heard of.....We can never be a developed nation without strong social objectives. The law is biased against men."'

RADAR ALERT: Fix VAWA Now!

Fourteen years after the passage of the Violence Against Women Act in 1994, it is now apparent that VAWA is a badly broken law that harms innocent individuals even as it fails to achieve its stated goal of protecting domestic violence victims.

The Violence Against Women Act:

  1. Fails to Help Victims of Domestic Violence
  2. Mistreats Women
  3. Promotes False Allegations
  4. Breaks Up Families Unnecessarily
  5. Costs Taxpayers Billions
  6. Hurts Black Communities

While VAWA-funded programs have benefited some individuals, its overall effect has been negative.

On July 4, Independence Day, the VAWA Reform Coalition launched a 5-month, high-profile campaign called "Fix VAWA Now!" Bottom line, we want every American to understand how this law has weakened the American family, harmed children forced into a single-parent household, while failing to protect true victims of domestic violence.

AND WE ARE CALLING ON YOU TO HELP SPREAD THE WORD! Americans deserve a truly effective law that deals with the problem without causing massive collateral damage.

Washington: Domestic violence shelter to include male victims

Article here. Excerpt:

"We work with men who have been stabbed, cut with glass and had their teeth knocked out with objects by female partners. They and their children, who are damaged just by seeing it, deserve the same outreach, treatment and dignity as any other victims, but instead they're often stigmatized and told they're oddball class even though they are not."
