Article here. My first calc T.A. was female and she knew math like it was nobody's business. So whenever I have heard stuff like the usual bull about girls needing loads of encouragement to pursue math, again I can only shake my head. So what it is then? Girls are or aren't as good at/better than boys at math? For feminists the answer will always be no, since that is how they can get colleges to go with the Title IX-based attack on science and math they are planning, as this article reveals quickly after declaring the study's results. 'WASHINGTON - Sixteen years after Barbie dolls declared, "Math class is tough!" girls are proving that when it comes to math they are just as tough as boys. In the largest study of its kind, girls measured up to boys in every grade, from second through 11th. The research was released Thursday in the journal Science.

This case involved a man that proposed to a woman and she accepted. He later backed out. She filed suit for "breech of contract. Excerpt:

'A Hall County man owes his ex-fiancee $150,000 for breaking off their engagement, a jury decided Wednesday.

The six-man, six-woman panel spent about three hours deliberating before ruling in favor of RoseMary Shell, who sued Wayne Gibbs for breach of contract after he called off their nuptials.

"You would be sending the message that if you have a dispute with somebody and you think they have been a scoundrel, go get a lawyer and hope the Brinks truck backs up to the jury room," Law said during his closing argument to the jury. "If you award one penny, you’re saying, ‘file frivolous lawsuits.’ "

The jury award was "significantly higher" than an amount Shell said she would accept during pre-trial settlement discussions, Sartain said.'

'Teresa Pohchoo Craig has a preoccupation with knives and could harm or kill herself or someone if she's not receiving proper medical treatment, a court heard yesterday.

Craig was convicted in June of manslaughter in the stabbing death of her husband, Jack Craig, while he slept in the couple's trailer near Kemptville in March 2006.

On Day 2 of a sentencing hearing, Crown prosecutor Jason Neubauer suggested Craig's risk to reoffend could put the community in danger.

"We're not talking about a property offence," said Neubauer, referring to Craig's crime. "If she relapses, somebody could die."'

My note: Correctional Services of Canada, in their paper called "Women convicted of Homicide Serving A Federal Sentence" (Oct. 1998), document that when women kill their victims usually are asleep or involved in some "other activity', whatever that may mean.

Men are most miserable in their 20s, but grow more satisfied as they get older, marry and earn more money, they found.

Watch this. Now, the suspect ran into the man's girlfriend and was so drunk she just drove on and didn't even know it, or so she claims. The victim's boyfriend catches up with her at a stop sign and confronts her, if you could call it that.

My first thought was, if I had been the driver, I am quite sure I would have been beaten to death, or just unconscious if I were lucky. At one point the boyfriend actually hugs the upset driver of the car! You can see him struggling between expressing his anger and suppressing it because presumably the target thereof was a 'she' and not a 'he'. In fact, at 1:08 into the clip, he actually mentions how she was a girl and so couldn't be angry with her!

Marc felt that he had much more to say, including elucidating the stories of specific individuals who had been hurt by the state's policy denying funding to male DV victims. And yet, when the chief justice told Marc that his time was up (he only had 7 minutes for his final remarks), it seemed clear that the justices had made up their minds or at least understood the issue clearly enough so as to decide without the need for further persuasion. Last Thursday, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence held a legislative briefing on Capitol Hill. The very next day, RADAR responded by distributing a flyer titled, “Domestic Violence Lies Cost Lives” to all the members of the House of Representatives.

And then today, the NCADV held their annual Lobbying Day, again spreading half-truths and lies about domestic violence.

Story here. British TV star John Leslie has been falsely accused of rape three times in the last few years. The latest malicious allegations were dropped just today. His accusers remain anonymous. Excerpt:

"Television star John Leslie will not face charges over the latest allegations against him of sex assaults, police said today.

The former Blue Peter presenter was arrested last month over two allegations of rape and indecent assault dating back to 1995.

Today the Metropolitan Police said after taking advice from the Crown Prosecution Service they will not be taking any further action against him.

'A former New York teacher who admitted having sex with a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on rape and other charges after prosecutors say she continued the liaisons in violation of a court order.

The 25-year-old was first arrested in March. She pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and was awaiting an August sentencing.

Prosecutors got a tip Kennedy was still meeting with the boy and began watching her. The victim also admitted having sex with Kennedy five times since her guilty plea.'

'He says his department had no idea how to handle his situation that March 2007 night, but after six suicides in three years the Milwaukee Police Department now provides suicide awareness training. Since starting the program early this year it has had two more suicides.

It's among the few departments confronting the subject. Experts estimate that only 2 percent to 10 percent of the 18,000 police departments nationwide actively work to prevent suicides within their ranks.

No one even keeps a complete, running tally of how many officers have killed themselves or attempted suicide. That includes the FBI, which issued a 726-page report seven years ago that called suicide a "significant issue confronting the law enforcement community."

In a previous posting, I reported on an American Express commercial showing a female guard at an airport putting on rubber gloves in order to search a man. I complained to Amex and their advertising arm Mindshare World. The commercial has been dropped and according to my source it may be do to other complaints besides mine. Thanks to all who did complain. It's good to know that there are people who will listen to reason.
