"Womanist" blog takes on Sacks' latest campaign

Entry here. You don't need to register for an account to submit a comment. Comments appear right away, there's no moderation. Excerpt:

'Well it should come as no surprise to anyone that Mr.Sacks (I won't link to him) is continuing on with his misogynistic attacks against women. In his teeny little world, it is all about the penis, and if you don't have one your story does not deserve to be told. We certainly cannot have a world where women speak out against the violence and the oppression that they face at the hands of men, that would be far to threatening to patriarchy.

The Family Place domestic shelter paid $25,000 for 45 bus-side ads and 300 bus interior ads to appear on DART, the Dallas transit system. Sacks and his minions have declared these ads offensive to men and fathers. They have started a campaign to get the ads taken down.'

F4J Pittsburgh PA Rally at Heinz Field Huge Success Despite Disruption by Security and Police

Story here. Excerpt:

'Fathers-4-Justice members from Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia rallied in front of Heinz Stadium this past Sunday, October 26. Members felt a football stadium on a Sunday afternoon would be the perfect place to find dads and increase public awareness. The rally was a tremendous success. Members, armed with flyers, signs and flags, walked through the public parking lots and along the sidewalks talking to people about equal parenting. “People were running after us to get our information, one guy chased me, when he caught up to me, he said he has been fighting the family court system for almost 24 years. He thanked me for being there and spreading our message. He asked for some information to give to all of his friends in the same situation, I gave him a stack of flyers, and off he went to distribute them. That was a great moment.” Brian Holladay, a National Boardmember for Fathers-4-Justice, said.'

"You can't see your son - but can he have one of your organs?"

Story here. Excerpt:

'A quietly spoken father of three, he finds that his life rarely gets more exciting than his weekly game of golf. But when he called the social workers as requested, he was confronted with a series of astonishing facts.

They said he was the father of another child - a five-year-old son from a previous, short-lived relationship. A former girlfriend, unable to cope with the demands of motherhood, had handed the boy over to foster parents.

A meeting with this new-found son was out of the question, he was told, let alone any sort of relationship. He was also informed that the boy was to be formally adopted and that the council was ringing merely to let him know.'

The Standard Online: Men cannot handle a successful woman

Article here. Excerpt:

'It is not men’s fault. I believe it is part of their genetic makeup. And until some genius scientist finds a way to alter their genes to prevent them from being threatened by successful women, this will remain a volatile topic.

Women will continue being viewed as the weaker sex, and any attempt to rescue themselves from that stereotype will send the Tony Ms of the world running scared, terrified that the IWTs are out to emasculate them and take away their balls.

Sorry, guys. Your world domination is getting diluted every day. Women are putting down their lesos, strapping on their stilettos, and marching into offices to give PowerPoint presentations. They are doing it all, and going home at the end of the day to breastfeed their kids while still donned in their dryclean only power suits.'

Australia denies residency for dad of boy with Down syndrome

Story here. Excerpt:

'SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Thirteen-year-old Lukas Moeller has Down syndrome. His father is a doctor who came to Australia from Germany to help fill a shortage of physicians in rural communities.

But now Australia has rejected Dr. Bernhard Moeller's application for residency, saying Lukas does not meet the "health requirement" and would pose a burden on taxpayers for his medical care, education and other services.

The case has provoked an outcry in the rural region of southeastern Victoria state, where Moeller is the only internal medicine specialist for a community of 54,000 people. Residents rallied outside Moeller's practice this week, demanding that the decision be overturned, and hundreds of Internet and radio complaints from across the country bombarded media outlets Friday.'
