Woman arrested after false report of rape at Wal-Mart

Story here. Excerpt:

'A northwest suburban woman who reported being raped in a Wal-Mart washroom on Sunday ended up behind bars herself when the actual story proved a little different.
...
However, police reviewed videotapes and discovered that the woman had gone into the washroom with a man willingly, the report said. She then changed her story and said she did have consensual sex with the man, whom she did not know, but he refused to pay her for the sex act.'

Trident's "The Fifth Dentist" ad is back

There was a recent thread about a "Stride Gum" commercial featuring a ram battering a man, in which a comparison was made with an older Trident ad called "The Fifth Dentist". Tonight I was watching TV when that old "The Fifth Dentist" ad by Trident came on. In case you're not familiar with it, the announcer states that "Four out of five dentists prefer Trident gum, but what about the fifth dentist?" A squirrel runs up the fifth dentist's leg and an audible "crunch" sound can be heard (presumably from the dentist's testicles being bitten). The dentist then screams "Nooooooooo!"

I sure hope that this commercial wasn't re-aired out of spite for the previous protest emails about Stride gum, but I wouldn't put it past them.

You can contact Cadbury Adams about this inane commercial here.

'Dear Margo' endorsing paternity fraud

Read it here. She says there is nothing to be gained by informing the "could be" father of his little son. Excerpt:

'...However, two years later I have a beautiful baby boy who looks nothing like my husband and has the personality of the other man. In my heart I am convinced he is not my husband's son. The other man is currently serving a tour in Iraq. Do I tell him about his son?
...
[Reply:]
Your little boy has a dad, and it would turn your life upside down to tell this man he has a son. Nothing good would come of it ... but you might wind up with a custody suit or a divorce.'

India: Move to legalize live-in relationships

Article here. More bias against men. Excerpt:

'MUMBAI: In a progressive step with far-reaching implications, the state cabinet on Wednesday gave its green signal to amend Section 125 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) which seeks to protect the pecuniary interests of the 'other woman'. However, it would need the Centre's stamp of approval to become a law.

...This amendment would cover the interests of women involved in polygamous or live-in relationships, say officials. The only catch is that the state has not specified the term 'reasonably long period' that a woman needs to stay with a man to be called his wife.
...
Explaining the need for such an amendment, state law department officials said most bigamy cases lead to problems for the 'other woman' not recognised by law in presence of the official wife. “The other woman is on the streets in dire straits if the man decides to dump her for someone else. She is not entitled to any maintenance as her status is not that of a wife,'' said officials. '

South Park - No Longer Cool To Watch

Today I watched the most recent episode of South Park, and I was truly offended. It had the most gratuitous brutal violence against male genitalia that I've ever seen in a show. Not to mention, a plot that's based around Indiana Jones getting raped by Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas raping Indiana Jones. Yeah, you read it correctly. That's not the truly offensive part, though. It's obviously meant to be symbolic of how they've destroyed Indiana Jones movies by butchering the remakes.

Getting to the brutal violence. Cartman thinks that the Chinese are going to take over America, so he goes to P. Cheng's to try to find out what he can from the owners of the restaurant, with Butter's helping him. Butter's accidentally shoots three men in the dick in the episode. Granted, it is just a cartoon and Cartman does Butters a verbal reaming for doing it, and South Park has actually had an episode in the past where Oprah's vagina and ass pulled guns on themselves and shot themselves. But this is actually presented in a truly sadistic, expected to actually laugh at the pain of the poor men, kind of way.

'Chivalry should receive gratitude'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Whether they admit it or not, a lot of women will hold certain expectations for the behavior of men, regardless of how roles have changed through the years.

Deep down some women still appreciate and judge men on their willingness to do things like open car doors, pay for a meal or pull their chair out before sitting at a restaurant; however, they may not always show this side of themselves.

Unfortunately, these standards are slowly drifting away, and many men are not participating in these so-called acts of chivalry.

In turn, women are excusing the fact that men are not making this effort, thus allowing for the change to occur.'

The divination of girls can't start early enough

Story here. Wonder why no boys are ever given such a deal? Oh yeah, they need to actually earn their heroic status in society by killing people or losing arms and legs first. Excerpt:

'KATMANDU, Nepal - Hindu and Buddhist priests chanted sacred hymns and cascaded flowers and grains of rice over a 3-year-old girl who was appointed a living goddess in Nepal on Tuesday.
...
Devotees touch the girls' feet with their foreheads, the highest sign of respect among Hindus in Nepal. During religious festivals the goddesses are wheeled around on a chariot pulled by devotees.

Critics say the tradition violates both international and Nepalese laws on child rights. The girls often struggle to readjust to normal lives after they return home.

Nepalese folklore holds that men who marry a former kumari will die young, and so many girls remain unmarried and face a life of hardship.'

Critics say the tradiaiton is bad for the girls, while boys and men are busy wheeling her around in a chair for what, 5-10 years? It's bad for HER?
