Woman arrested in husband's death makes bail

Story here. Excerpt:

'A Huntington woman arrested last week after being extradited from Iowa for the 2003 shooting death of her husband has made bail.

Angelina County Jail records show Shelly Anne Dorsey's attorney, Ryan Deaton, posted a $100,000 bond Monday afternoon.

An Angelina County grand jury indicted Dorsey, 37, in late October for the murder of 30-year-old Alvin Dorsey II, who died after being shot in the chest outside Little Jim's night club, off U.S. 69 south, on Sept. 12, 2003.

Following the indictment, law enforcement in Story County, Iowa arrested Dorsey on the charge, and she refused to waive her extradition to Texas, said Angelina County assistant prosecutor Art Bauereiss in a previous interview. Governors of both Texas and Iowa signed off on her extradition and she was transported back to Texas and booked into Angelina County Jail Dec. 31.'

UK: Girls 'under too much pressure'

Article here. Excerpt:

'Incoming Girls School Association head Jill Berry said parents were worried about achieving a balance between school achievement and happiness.

Mrs Berry also said that girls could put themselves under a lot of pressure.

A poll of 1,000 parents surveyed for the association said their top concern was their daughter's education.

Girls tend to outperform boys in all stages of their education, and this can lead schools to assume all girls will do well.

Mrs Berry said: "There is no doubt that many mothers and fathers are worried about getting the balance right between their daughters realising their academic potential while at the same time being happy and safe."'

Canada: Drug addicted mother escapes jail term in daughter's abuse

Story here. Excerpt:

'A crack-addicted woman was handed a 13-month conditional sentence yesterday for corrupting her developmentally challenged daughter, who was used for sex and given cocaine by other crack-users at the family's Rexdale flophouse.
...
"A mother has totally failed her daughter in the worst kind of way. She was sexually assaulted and became a drug addict by being given drugs over a 12-month period," said Strasberg, who demanded a prison sentence in the "range of 18 months."

Strasberg said the mom would be smoking crack in her room while the daughter performed sex acts in the living room. Drug testing confirmed the girl's drug use with "high level of exposure."

Justice Lloyd Budzinski rejected the prison term and agreed with defence lawyer Donald F. McLeod's call for a stay-at-home sentence. The judge said the remorseful mom pleaded guilty, sparing her daughter the anguish of reliving the horror from the witness stand.

"Equity bill" passes House

Story here. Excerpt:

'WASHINGTON – The House has passed legislation to assure that employers live up to their four-decade-old legal promise to provide equal pay for equal work.

Democrats led lawmakers in approving a bill making clear that women who are victims of gender-based discrimination can sue for compensatory and punitive damage.
...
"Equal pay is an issue of fundamental fairness," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said. "But as families grapple with difficult economic times, equal pay for equal work is often about daily survival for millions of families."

Republican opponents saw the measures, introduced in the first week of the new Congress, as an incentive for people to file lawsuits that will benefit trial lawyers. It's "little more than an earmark for the trial bar," said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.

Casey Anthony in court

Video report here. Casey Anthony is the prime suspect in the case of her young missing daughter, whose body was found not long ago. Despite so much evidence pointing to her as a prime suspect, this case has dragged on for months as people seem incapable of believing she murdered and probably dismembered her daughter's body. Note how much sympathy she is getting in this report despite the evidence against her. This is one to watch.

An Analysis of so-called Chauvinism

An article inspired by the book "The Myth of Male Power" by Warren Farrell. Excerpt:

'Feminists have used this word very judiciously to bargain for unwarranted concessions for women from the society. And the fools that men are, easily bought this stupid argument of men being chauvinistic as well and started giving concessions to women...
...
...Power, as misunderstood, is not the LIBERTY to do something at WILL. Power is the ability to control your own life the way you want and have the choice to do so. Something which men do not have currently, women however have it. Hence it’s the women who are more powerful than men.

Blog: "Feminism Is The Bane Of My Existence"

Blog here. Excerpt:

'That's right, today's feminism (or third wave feminism) is not about making men and women equal, it is about advancing women's rights at the expense of men (and sometimes other women). This crap can be seen in the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The name alone reeks of 'protected class'. Isn't ALL violence bad? Where is the Violence Against Men Act? Why not rename it the "Violence Against Humans Act". To me. this seems more egalitarian.
...
If feminists want economic equality, they are truly dreaming. Everyone has their own skills and education. To make everyone truly equal economically would send the world into mediocrity. Everyone would earn the same wage, regardless of the work involved. This way Bill Gates and the burger flipper at McDonald's can be roommates. Bill Gates is where he is because of the contribution he (and Microsoft) made to society. If Bill Gates never mainstreamed Windows and brought the rise of the home PC, you wouldn't even be reading this rant.'

Man must pay support though twins not his

It is interesting to note that this article was posted in the same rag the very next day. I suggest that you read all of the comments. The overwhelming majority are with the man on this issue. For those of you who do not know the Toronto Star it is a Liberal bastion which makes the support of the male all the more astounding. Perhaps the word is getting out there. One example of the comments:

Ridiculous
This coming one day after an editorial by a star journalist slamming men and praising feminists. And to boot, the woman was trying to increase the money they were receiving and decrease the amount of time the father got to spend with his "children". Absolute Farce!

It is also interesting (though not surprising or unexpected) that the judge is a female.
Though as we know it wouldn't matter the gender pandering is done by both sexes to the Princesses of Privilege.
