RADAR ALERT: Party Hearty-- Spend National Tea Party Day Protesting VAWA

April 15th, tax day, is slated to be National Tea Party Day. Throughout the country, citizens will be protest the unprecedented level of federal spending will gather in front of their city halls.

Among the grievances listed at http://teapartyday.com/ are that the federal government is "spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will be paying" and that members of Congress "consistently give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get themselves re-elected."

RADAR shares the tea partiers' displeasure over out-of-control spending and pork. Included in the so-called economic stimulus bill of 2009 is $325 million earmarked specifically for ineffective domestic violence programs. Ineffective, that is, at preventing domestic violence. They have been very effective at contributing to the deaths of women and children, breaking up families, and creating incentives for false allegations while whittling away at the traditional due process protections previously provided to the accused.

History has been 'feminised', says prominent UK professor

Article here. Excerpt:

'In an interview with the Radio Times, out today, Dr Starkey said: "One of the great problems has been that Henry, in a sense, has been absorbed by his wives. Which is bizarre.

"But it's what you expect from feminised history, the fact that so many of the writers who write about this are women and so much of their audience is a female audience. Unhappy marriages are big box office."
...
Dr Starkey went further, by saying that modern attempts to paint many women in history as "power players" was to falsify the facts.

He said: "If you are to do a proper history of Europe before the last five minutes, it is a history of white males because they were the power players, and to pretend anything else is to falsify."

For example, while he considered Elizabeth I to be a great monarch, "the way she is presented as some sort of female icon is ludicrous".'

This my friends, is proof that women are not the better sex. They are behind closed walls away from male influence and yet, they sexually harass and molest/rape each other. I will remember that next time I have to go to a sexual harassment class for work! Women ARE and CAN BE predators! This time, NO MEN can be blamed! Excerpt:

Army reaches out to families to stem suicides

Story here. Excerpt:

'FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. - Fort Campbell officials struggling to stem a recent increase in military suicides hope family members will be able to spot signs that soldiers may be depressed and hesitant to seek help from the Army.

Of the 100 family members and spouses at a meeting at the post Thursday, more than a dozen raised their hands when asked if they knew someone who had committed suicide. Those family members — often the first to notice problems — received information and training on recognizing signs of suicidal thoughts — and how to get help for the soldiers at the installation along the Tennessee state line.'

World Net Daily: Who will raise kids: Mom, Dad or state?

Article here. Excerpt:

'Though efforts to pass a constitutional amendment protecting parental rights have failed in the past, two U.S. legislators are preparing to reintroduce the idea this week; and this time, they say, the effort is backed by more than 60 congressional members.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., who introduced a parental rights amendment by himself last year, told the Agence France-Presse that he will be joined by Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., on Tuesday as they renew the fight.

According to a statement released to AFP by Hoekstra's office, the amendment "would clearly outline in the U.S. Constitution that parents, not government or any other organization, have a fundamental right to raise their children as they see fit."

ACLU Intervenes As Girl, 14, Faces Porn Charges For Nude Photos

Story here.

You might be asking how is this relevant? Think about the plethora of stories about boys facing severe consequences for similar actions. I've never read anything about the ACLU coming to the aid of these boys. When a girl faces the same injustice, hypocritical groups like the ACLU come to the rescue. Excerpt:

'A 14-year-old New Jersey girl has been accused of distributing child pornography after posting nearly 30 explicit nude pictures of herself myspace.com — charges that could force her to register as a sex offender if convicted.

Canada: Gender bias evident in parental alienation cases

Article here. Excerpt:

'JUSTICE REPORTER — A study of alienated children has found that mothers were significantly more likely to be the parent who emotionally poisoned their children than were fathers.

Toronto family lawyer Gene Colman told a Toronto symposium yesterday that of 74 court rulings that found parental alienation since 1987, the mother was the alienator in 50 cases. The father was the alienating parent in 24.

"I'm not trying to dump on moms," Mr. Colman told about 150 psychologists, family lawyers, mediators and activist parents. "I'm just saying, that is what the data reveal."

In parental alienation syndrome, an estranged parent systematically brainwashes a child into hating the other parent. The profile of the syndrome escalated over the past year, after three Ontario judges ordered that children be removed from an alienating parent and taken to U.S. clinics for deprogramming therapy.'

Canada: Custody judges rule on vengeance

Article here. Excerpt:

'Toronto -- The scope of the courts' reach into family affairs has long been contentious, but a recent trend in Canada's legal system has brought a new controversy that has some onlookers praising judges and others condemning them for accepting what they call "voodoo science."

More than ever before, Canada's judges are recognizing that some children of divorced and warring parents are not simply living an unfortunate predicament, but rather are victims of child abuse and suffering from Parental Alienation Syndrome.

Though debate swirls as to whether the occurrence should be termed a syndrome, a disorder, or simply ‘parental alienation,' Canadian and American judges, lawyers, and psychologists are increasingly buying into a view that sees programming a child to despise a non-custodial parent as grounds for removing the "brainwashed" child from the alienating parent's custody - or what is known in the extreme as a court-ordered "parentectomy."'

College newspaper can't stomach the word COM(MAN)D on a T-shirt

Article here. Excerpt:

'The Hanszen College Men's Resource Center (MRC) has been selling "MAN" shirts both to raise campus awareness and to raise funds for its Hu(man)ity Campaign to help "young men in the Fifth Ward Enrichment program become responsible adults and productive members of the community." I thought it a perfect example of the kind of socially conscious civic engagement projects Rice students should engage in - that is, until I saw a shirt with the slogan "COM(MAN)D" with the word "man" displayed in a larger font and bracketed within the whole word.

Understandably, the MRC was probably trying to make a statement by using funny or enticing slogans as part of its campaign. Most of the slogans are indeed so, such as "WO(MAN)," "(MAN)GO" and "BRO(MAN)CE," but this particular slogan, "COM(MAN)D," is particularly offensive and potentially misleading.

Woman loses legal round in assault on husband

Story here. Excerpt:

'The Utah Court of Appeals has rejected the argument that a Taylorsville woman, accused of ramming her SUV into her husband, should be able to include jury instructions regarding "extreme emotional distress" as part of her case.

Brenda Christine White, 33, is charged with attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a second-degree felony, in connection with an April 26, 2006, incident in which White and her estranged husband, Jon White, argued about money, child custody and other matters.

Prosecutors say an enraged Brenda White returned four hours later, chased her husband in her vehicle as he ran for cover on foot, smashed the SUV through a Salt Lake office building's glass door and hit her husband once, throwing him about 10 feet.'
