World Net Daily: "Selective feminism"

Article here. Excerpt:

'But feminists are selective in their advocacy. They hate femininity (which they see as weakness) and loath women who choose traditional roles (try voicing support of housewives in any college women's studies course and see what happens). Stay-at-home moms are seen as traitors to the Cause.
...
Modern feminism has become little more than collective whining from women who never are, and never can be, satisfied until … I dunno, they have world domination or something.
...
Feminists do not just want equal opportunity, which already exists. They want equal outcome – equal numbers of men and women in all fields, most especially the male-dominated, high-paying fields such as engineering, mathematics and the physical sciences. (I don't see them clamoring for equal representation in such dangerous fields as mining, logging, taxi driving, or even farming.) No, only a high status career – as defined by feminists – will do, thank you.'

CS Monitor asks: "What if women ran the world?"

Article here. Excerpt:

'San Francisco - It is getting harder to escape the sense that most of the trouble in the world – whether it's coming out of the Senate, a mortgage lender, or a tank turret – can be traced to one overriding problem: too many men steering. Had our economic, domestic, and foreign policy been more informed by women, we might be enjoying a safer ride.

Doubt it? Here's a test. Would any of the women you admire have set up a healthcare system as byzantine, costly, and underperforming as America's? Or a financial system where mortgage lenders don't have to care about being paid back? Or a bailout that spends $1 trillion in public money to subsidize the purchase of junk debt from the same geniuses that generated it?

It may be time for guys to hand over the keys, ask for directions, and sit (quietly, please) in the back seat for a while.'

"Mother hit hard in custody case"

Story here. Excerpt:

'A Toronto judge has taken the drastic step of finding a mother of three in contempt of court for flagrantly violating court orders during her relentless campaign to alienate her children from their father.

The woman, known as K.D., lost custody of her daughters in January, but this latest ruling takes the case to a new level, with the 42-year-old chiropodist finding herself on the losing side of a power struggle with the court.

The mother intentionally acted against the best interests of her children by cutting off telephone calls and visits with their father and walking out of counselling sessions, Justice Faye McWatt said in a decision released earlier but withheld from publication until today so K.D., who is self-represented, could read it first.

She has been ordered to pay $35,000 in penalties and legal costs to her ex-husband, 56, a vascular surgeon known as A.L., who was also granted permission to take the girls to a U.S. therapy program designed to undo damage caused by parents who poison children against another parent.'

UK: Should all women be screened for domestic violence?

Article here. Excerpt:

'A screening programme which would require doctors and nurses to ask all women whether they have experienced domestic violence, whatever their reason for seeking medical attention, is not justified, according to a new report by researchers at the University of Bristol, funded by the National Institute for Health Research Health Technology Assessment (NIHR HTA) programme.
...
One proposal for improving care has been a policy whereby all women, regardless of their reason for seeking medical attention, are asked by doctors and nurses if they have experienced domestic violence. This is called screening and has been effective in other areas, for example in detecting thyroid disease in babies and raised blood pressure in adults.'

Open Season on Men in Oklahoma

A new law has passed in the Oklahoma State Legislature, authorizing the use of deadly force by women, to protect their unborn children. So gentlemen, if you have a nasty argument with your baby-mama, you could end up dead while your murderer gets off Scott-free. Excerpt:

'The bill stems from a Michigan case where a woman who was carrying quadruplets stabbed and killed her boyfriend after he hit her in the stomach. The woman lost the babies and was convicted of manslaughter.

Oklahoma lawmakers said they want to make sure that a woman can legally protect her unborn child.

"Unfortunately, we feel we need legislation like this," said Rep. Mike Thompson. "What we want to make sure is that a woman feels safe and secure defending herself and her unborn child against any attacker."'

UK: Divorcing Man Pays 105 Percent Of Assets

Story here. Excerpt:

'LONDON, England (CNN) -- A British court Wednesday told a business financier he would still have to pay a $13.6 million divorce settlement despite losing a fortune in the credit crunch.

Brian Myerson had told the UK Court of Appeal that instead of receiving £14.6 million ($21 million) from a division of his assets, he would now be £½ million out of pocket, according to the UK Press Association.

The court rejected his appeal, saying the "natural process of price fluctuation, however dramatic" did not justify changing the settlement, PA reported.

Under the original settlement made last year, Myerson, the former CEO of Principle Capital Holdings, was ordered to pay 43% of his then total £25.8m assets to his wife.

Lawyers for Myerson said because of the economic downturn, the wife's share of the total assets under the order would now be 105% and the husband's would be -5%.'

Men's depression expected to increase as economy declines

Article here. Excerpt:

"Pity the men, for there is nothing manly about depression.

Every belief a man holds about his masculinity is attacked by depression — his physical strength, sexual prowess and ability to provide and protect. All the traits that our society says makes a man manly.

Worse, most men do not know what's hit them. The symptoms of depression in men are so different than in women that many men are emotionally blindsided.

If asking for directions is difficult, imagine asking for help with your feelings.

'There is a huge amount of stigma for men,' said Michael Addis, head of the Men's Coping Project, a study funded by the National Institutes of Health. 'Depression is seen as a personal weakness and a character flaw.'

Because many men define success by their bank accounts, experts expect to see more depression in men — and more suicide."

UK: Zero Male Teachers Equals Zero Future Men

Article here. Excerpt:

'According to a recent report, more than a quarter of English children do not have even a single male teacher at their school. For many children, that means they have greatly reduced contact during the day with an adult man until age 11 when they go to secondary school. Children who don’t have a father in the home may not have any regular contact with a male role model until they go to secondary school.

The situation is similar in America, and Canada, and Australia—where between 70 to 75 percent of teachers are female.

Why is society robbing young boys of the masculine role models they need?

UK: Men's midlife cash crisis

Article here. Excerpt:

'Men in their 40s are more likely to suffer a financial crisis than a midlife crisis these days.

Statistics reveal that about 28% of the 106,000 people declared bankrupt or insolvent in 2008 were men aged between 40 and 45.

This means men in their 40s are the most likely group to enter into an individual voluntary agreement (IVA) , say financial advisers Tenon Recovery.

The firm highlighted the South-East, including London, as the UK's IVA hotspot, with 25% of cases coming from the region. Next worse was the Midlands with 18.5% and then the North West with 15.5%.

Tenon director Gill Wrigley says: "As people reach their 40s, any increase in wages over the years is counter-acted by a disproportionate increase in outgoings, such as paying college bills.'

US News & World Report: Why Women Should Favor Circumcision: To Prevent HPV Infection

Article here. Excerpt:

'To snip or not? Any parent of an infant son faces this circumcision question; for some, like me, it's a no-brainer. I had my two sons circumcised in accordance with my Jewish faith. Others, though, would like to know if there are any health reasons in favor of circumcision. Well, a study of 5,000 initially uncircumcised Ugandan men in this week's New England Journal of Medicine found that once the men underwent circumcision, their rate acquiring herpes virus infection plunged by 28 percent and they were 35 percent less likely to get infected with human papillomavirus (HPV), which is responsible for genital warts and, in women, cervical cancer.'
