'A former Henry County High School teacher who was arrested last month for having sex with a student allegedly approached another male student with intentions of having a similar relationship.

Sandra Kay Curtis, 36, of Camden, was charged with solicitation of a minor Tuesday and was arrested at the Henry County jail by Henry County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Stan Pinson.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Department, the charge stems from an ongoing investigation into the incident. Damon Lowe, director of the Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, said this morning that Curtis allegedly approached a second male student in one of her classes, but that incident never went any further.

Curtis was originally arrested April 21 on three counts each of statutory rape by an authority figure and aggravated statutory rape for a relationship she had with a 16-year-old male student.'

In pop star Pink's new music video for Please Don't Leave Me, she is seen beating the living daylights out of some poor guy who appears to be in her clutches. I guess she wanted to do a sort of tongue-in-cheek sort of homage to "Misery". At the end, as the guy's being carried away on a gurney, the police are just hovering over her and at the very end she gives the camera a wink.

First of all, think about if the situation was in reverse. The video would probably not even see the light of day. Yet, it's perfectly okay to show a video by a popular FEMALE artist where she's beating up a man?

Secondly, consider that Pink is considered a role model for young girls. What message is this sending them? That it's perfectly okay to beat the hell out of some guy just to get him to stay?

Apparently, Pink believes that violence against men is not only okay, it's also a good ploy for selling records. Either way, I think it's messed up.

'A veteran Edmonton taxi driver is speaking publicly about a civil lawsuit he filed last year against four young women who falsely accused him of sexual assault after travelling in his car three years ago.

"I just want to give those girls [a] lesson," Soner Yasa told CBC News. "We're so vulnerable as a cab driver."

The lawsuit, filed by Yasa in Edmonton's Court of Queen's Bench in April 2008, seeks nearly $250,000 in damages to cover emotional and mental distress. His allegations have not been proven in court. One of the four young women filed a statement of defence last month in which she admits to getting into Yasa's taxi but denies the rest of his allegations.'

'A Waco woman who sliced her boyfriend’s throat in June and then married him in March was sentenced to 10 years of probation Tuesday.

A 54th State District Court jury of nine women and three men deliberated about an hour before granting Tasha Nicole Delao’s request to be spared from prison in the assault of her husband, the father of her five children.

Delao, 29, pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated assault charges in a June 25 incident in which Archie McLeain was cut twice on the neck during an argument at her home in the 1000 block of Harlem Street. His wounds required 36 stitches, trial testimony showed.'

'A 78-year-old Lynnwood woman has been charged with second-degree assault after she allegedly beat the tar out of her 84-year-old husband because she believed he was unfaithful, the Everett Herald is reporting.

The woman allegedly hit her husband with a bowl, a metal pipe and a carpet sweeper, which she documented in her diary.

"I beat him again," the woman wrote in the diary, which was recovered by police. "I told him it would be worth going to jail just to watch him bleed to death," she wrote.

A witness told police the woman believed her husband had an affair 35 years ago, according to court documents.'

Adelyn Marsden continued her relationship with Graham Smith despite falsely accusing him of rape, Durham Crown Court heard.

She was given a suspended prison sentence for that offence in November of last year.

'A 36-year-old woman had been arrested in Tembisa for perjury yesterday after laying a false charge of rape, Gauteng police said.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the woman had opened a case of rape in February. She alleged that she had been raped by a pastor when she went to assist with tea at a church.

During investigations, police questioned her and she revealed that she had gone to the man's house, but that he had not raped her.'

'SPRINGFIELD, Mo. | Prosecutors have dropped their case against a Greene County woman accused of making a false rape claim that resulted in a massive investigation.

The Springfield News Leader reported on its Web site that the making a false report charge was dismissed Friday after prosecutors found that there was not enough evidence to prove that the woman's tale was fake.

The investigation began in July 2007 after deputies who responded to a call from the woman found her bound and partially nude behind a barn near her home.

Authorities spent hundreds of hours investigating before prosecutors charged the woman in July 2008. They alleged that she had injured and bound herself before calling police.'

'VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A former Volusia County teacher who had sex with a student, but hasn't avoided children, still won't go to prison for her crime. Cynthia Horvath was given probation in her sex case, but then she violated that probation by chatting online with a boy.

Horvath had a hearing Wednesday at the Volusia County courthouse for violating her probation. What was at stake here was the former cheerleading coach could have gone straight to prison for at least three years.

But what it came down to was, when she was on the Facebook web site, did she really believe she was communicating with a 16-year-old boy? The state couldn't prove that she did.'
