It noted Equality Law allowed for men to be excluded from certain services such as support facilities for women who have been victims of domestic violence.

It called on the conference to “support the application of the exclusion of men to services specifically tailored to women” and to “condemn the missteps of leading women’s organisations within Scotland to protect this important provision… therefore failing to protect vulnerable service users and children”.

'A Queens man falsely accused of on-campus sexual assault is suing SUNY-Purchase for mishandling the incident and ruining his reputation.

The encounter unfolded in April 2017 at the State University of New York at Purchase, when the male student, identified in court papers only as John Doe, and the unnamed female classmate ended up in bed together after sharing wine with several others, according to court papers.

The woman later reported the incident to school police, and administrators eventually found John Doe had failed to get her “affirmative” consent, even though she’d asked John Doe to get a condom and helped remove her own clothes, according to his legal filing.

In March, a state appeals court overturned SUNY Purchase’s decision, finding it wasn’t backed by “substantial evidence.”'

'A historic overhaul of sexual consent laws in NSW is a step closer to reality after proposed legislation requiring an affirmative model of consent was introduced to NSW parliament.

Under the reform, people will need to take active steps to establish whether another person wants to have sex before engaging in the act.

NSW Attorney-General Mark Speakman, who announced the change in May, and says it is a common-sense reform that will make sexual consent laws easier for everybody.

"If you want to have sex with someone, then you need to do or say something to find out if they want to have sex with you too - under our reforms, it's that simple," Mr Speakman said.'

'The Ingham County Prosecutor's Office will not prosecute two unnamed Michigan State University football players accused in January 2021 of sexually assaulting a female student.

The Oct. 18 denial comes more than six months after Michigan State University police forwarded their investigative report to the prosecutor's office, Ingham County Prosecutor's office spokesman Scott Hughes confirmed Monday. The development was first reported by the Lansing State Journal.

A federal judge last week dismissed a case filed by one of the accused athletes because the player did not include his name in the filing and instead filed under "John Doe."

The athlete had filed against the university and its athletic department, arguing that his Title IX rights were violated when he was suspended from the football team during the investigation.'

'Researchers have been sorting out a paradox for decades: If US employers favor men with a college degree, why is that demographic shrinking?

New data from the National Student Clearinghouse, a nonprofit research group, suggests that the gender gap in higher education is the highest it's ever been: Men made up just 40% of college students during the 2020-21 school year, while women made up around 60%. Men also accounted for more than 70% of the decline in students at US colleges and universities over the last five years.

'Louisiana fathers are taking matters into their own hands after repeated violence broke out in one school, where 23 students were arrested over just a three-day period.

"We're dads. We decided the best people who can take care of our kids are who? Are us," father Michael LaFitte told CBS News.

LaFitte launched a group called Dads on Duty, sparking 40 fathers to sign up and take shifts at Southwood High School in Shreveport to maintain a peaceful environment.

The latest target in the endless battle against ‘harmful gender stereotypes’ is toys.

You can still walk through a shopping mall and find shops for men's clothes and shops for women's clothes but when it comes to children, it seems they are not allowed to be a boy or a girl. But they are allowed to know about sexual feelings for boys or girls.

Some stereotypes can be harmful, especially if assumed to apply to all individuals. But all too often those behind these campaigns and initiatives want to do away with distinctions of sex altogether. LEGO, for instance, has said it will no longer market any of its products ‘for girls’ or ‘for boys’. The company has announced that it will work to “remove gender stereotypes” from its toys. On its website shoppers can no longer search for products by sex.

'Penelope Jackson, 66, stabbed David Jackson, 78, three times with a kitchen knife just hours after they fought during a meal to celebrate her birthday.

'When touting his economic agenda in his hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, President Joe Biden expressed concern for a trend that has been gaining steam recently — the drop in college enrollment among men.

"Women are becoming — not a joke — better educated than men," Biden said during his remarks. "I do about five college commencements a year. Four of those five, the valedictorian out of those classes for the last 10 years has been a woman. And if you read the data now, we're worried about the number of men attending college."

At the end of the last academic year, women made up 59.5% of college students while men made up just 40.5%, according to enrollment data from the National Student Clearinghouse, and US colleges have seen a 1.5 million decline in students enrolled over the past five years, with men accounting for 71% of that decline.'
