Middle-aged Princess Laments: Feminism Ruined My Life

A confessional essay truly worth reading. Excerpt:

"I had become a fat, unpleasant, middle-aged princess because I had refused to grow up. Sure, I had taken on grown-up responsibilities (marriage, career, house, motherhood) but at the core of my psyche was a 13-year-old girl who stamped her feet and whined when she didn’t get her way. Of course, I had stopped whining years ago but I simply replaced the whining with emotional manipulation and ornery bitchiness. No wonder I was still single and my two teenaged sons spent all their free time with their father... being a dilettante feminist, I swallowed the standard line that women can have it all... I had lots of blame to dole out. There was no way that the current state of my life was the result of my decisions. My single girlfriends all told me that, many, many times over copious cocktails in sundry singles bars. I read a lot of women’s magazines and the advice I got said pretty much the same thing - a woman is never to blame... Looking back in brutal honesty, I was a stark, raving bitch."

I think he's really really good at debating and is very quick on his feet. I haven't ever heard anyone better or who even comes close. He's good. Really good.

How does he compare to Glenn Sacks or Warren Farrell? They don't even come close (IMHO). Glenn is good at writing articles and spearheading and running campaigns that fight man-hating. Warren is great at writing books, better than Marc by a country mile. But even Warren doesn't hold a candle to Marc in getting his points across and getting them out to the masses on TV, the radio, and in his frequent internet articles. Warren is just too soft-spoken when he's on TV debating a subject. His passion doesn't show as it does with Marc. And how often do we hear from Warren or Glenn in the media other than on the internet.

Does Marc do it for the money? That's part of it, of course, but what's wrong with that? He's chosen to make his money this way, pushing a cause he's very passionate about, and he's great at it. I wish we had more in the movement as good as he is.

As far as his effectiveness, if he was hurting our efforts by turning people off, people would not be voting for him in the post-debate polls overwhelmingly over his female opponents. And it's apparent that he's accomplishing the same results or better with Lis Wiehl's replacements when she isn't available. Seems to me that if Marc wasn't as good as he is, and likable, people would default to Lis in the polls because she's a woman or because they didn't like him. People won't vote for someone they don't like, even if they feel he's right. But they will default to a good-looking blonde.

I know you apologized for what you said about Marc, but I felt obligated to state the above in support of Marc for all to read because I appreciate and like him as much as I do and so enjoy his debates, whether on TV or on the radio shows he often gets on. I want to become as good as he to help me as I start and run some companies in support of our movement and need to talk to the public. I'm glad he has all his previous debates and radio shows on his website for me to repeatedly review for technique.

I think your delusional if you think this battle is completely my fault. If I remember correctly you called me a woman. You initiated the attack, I simply fought back. I'm trying to take the high road but please continue this juvenil attack if you feel it necessary. You perceive me as a 17 year old but I suspect your maturity is that of a 12 year old. Vulgarity? I hope I didn't make you cry. Suck it up and move along! Drugs are not a part of my life but I suggest an IV of Thorazine for your dysfunction. Education? I recently received my BA in Sociology/history from Syracuse. Graduate school is the next step [ probably NYU] Please do not judge me on my writing skills, my ability is based on verbal communication. Keep it coming, any more attempted insults I can easily refute.

Roy, maybe MrR is sick and tired of listening to bullshit? Maybe he feels like manginas are more like traitors?

Zing! Smart man that Dutch.

To be honest I have heard enough bullshit from the feminists(and the women that support them) and don't have time to wade through a cesspool here as well. On the other hand, the morons I encounter here(They know who they are) are entitled to their opinions.

I am also entitled to disagree with them. :-)

As far as Mr. Marc H. Rudov: I love that guy he pulls no punches and calls women on all of their nonsense. He's almost as bad as I am. Heh. I also e-mailed him with your nasty comments and will post what he said in return on my site -- pending getting his permission since it was a private e-mail. It was quite hilarious and he reveals how pathetic alot of men really are. Up in arms against men, yet shiver when in the presence of a woman.

Whatever. This thread is old news.

Dutch, drop your e-mail address here and I will send you the URL to my site. It may change later but you can make an account now.

You refute my comments by citing book learning and college parchment?

Good for you. Stay in college. Why don't you go for a doctorate too. How about two doctorates? This way everyone will know how smart you are without you having to prove it.

I suspect all of it will do you little good without intelligence and maturity.

Sociology? History? I'm not at all surprised. Why don't you throw an education degree in there for good measure?

I can't see you from here but nothing you write reflects the writing of a man. Do you think that vulgarity equates with manhood? If a woman uses vulgarity, does that make her more of a man? It just makes her vulgar. Even the degrees you're getting are primarily women's degrees. Either physically, mentally, or both, you're a woman. That may or may not be your fault, but it's true.

Don't judge you on your writing? Ha! Ha! That's a good one!

Knock yourself out, Ms. Anthony! Make your mom proud!

By the way, did you see one of Marc Rudov's latest debates where he talks about the Hello Kitty products soon to be marketed to young men soon? He alleges that the primary reason for men desiring these types of female products these days is because of the large number of boys being brought up without fathers in single mom households. Were you brought up without a father in a single mom household?

I think the problem is our lives are going in different directions. You see, I'm young and my life is in front of me. Apparently your life is over. You regret the decisions that have made you miserable. You seem like a bitter, unhappy, old man. Your comments suggest nothing more than jealousy. I pity you. As for the vulgarity, get over it! Mom And Dad? I'm grateful I still have them both.

I think the root of your anger is based on my insults towards your messiah, Marc Rudov. I actually want to help you so I'll continue this absurd argument because it seems that's all you have to fill your empty life.

Cordially Yours,

Anthony

Dutch269,

Sorry for the tardy reply. I was away.

I'm kinda like that dude who could not find no direction home 'cause I hate to read anything I've written more than twice and never really spend any time considering it again.

Even less the replies.

So whatever I said is just what you are
obsessing over, and you need to let it go.

I never said anything about you. Or to you.

Seen?

(PS) - One of my pet peeves about MRA threads is their ADHD character and that dialogue gets buried after so many arbitrary posts absorb the screen space and you have to dig into menus and numbers to reconstruct the conversation.

We need better tools for linear thinking...

Enjoy your stay!

I just finished linking to a couple of the Rudov debates on the site.

Not sure why you say I am obsessing, I merely answered your question to me. Sorry you didn't like, and I don't appreciate the ADHD comment.

If your trying to change the way MRS's think, you need to try a different approach.
