Sounds Like VAWA (Score:1) by kavius on 10:14 AM April 26th, 2006 EST (#1) http://www.vius.ca Its interesting to note that both the US and Canada have issued travel warnings regarding this law, yet have a combination of laws that amount to the same/similar thing. While it sounds like the abuse of the system is worse in India (divorce after a couple of days), many of the problems and abuses sound very similar to the "silver bullet" of DV accusations and restraining orders in the North American divorce industry.
