Female Ohio SC Justice Scolded for DUI

	Hmmm, this is the kind of story I ponder about because the question is, is she being let off light (with a mere reprimand, when any "ordinary person" would lose a professional license, get jailed, etc.) because she is female, or a senior citizen, or a state supreme court justice, or because she is cop-friendly, or any combination/all of these? That is, is this a gender/class/sandbox thing or a combination thereof? What do YOU think?

(Score:1) by Davidadelong on 08:23 PM December 28th, 2005 EST (#3) Yes, because she is an older Woman, yes because she is totally for the establishment, yes because she is a judge. Three strikes and your out, except for here. It seems those three strikes got her off light. Oh well, at least those good People in OH can rest easy at night knowing that the system is working to protect the elite, while the average person gets the shaft. UNLESS, they have a diversion system for the first strike in OH, she was publicly humiliated, and still lost her license. So, more information is necessary for me to say for sure.

(Score:2) by Roy on 05:51 PM December 29th, 2005 EST (#5) There's a female circuit court county judge in my neighborhood who has survived two DUI's and rumored cocaine purchasing. She has never lost her post. In fact her new ambition is to use federal grant dollars to create a "fast-track" domestic violence court to expedite the imprisoning of men accused of DV with even less due process than is currently legal practice. One DV counselor I know, a female psychologist with rare integrity, is warning men in the area to divorce their abusive wives now, before the enhanced (VAWA-funded) DV dragnet happens.
