Indian Policewomen Assault Couples for Dating
posted by Matt on 06:37 AM December 21st, 2005
News Just when you don't think it can't get any weirder, just read this.

Excerpt:
Two policewomen have been suspended in the northern Indian city of Meerut for slapping and punching couples who were dating in a public park.

Police were carrying out "Operation Romeo", which they said was to target the sexual harassment of women.

Anti-police protests erupted after TV pictures showed officers punching and pulling the hair of young women.

So let's see, this is an assault not just on the right to associate and freedom to assemble (which is guaranteed under Indian law) but also an assault on romantic relations between the sexes. Note that the ostensible reason for the "program" that placed these policewomen in the park was targetted specifically at stopping men from... dating women? Note there is implied in the name of the operation itself ("Operation Romeo") that the female of the couple is not presumed to be an active part in what... making out or something? And just how is making out in a park "sexual harassment" anyway? Anyone who needs explicit evidence that male sexuality itself is being directly persecuted need only look at this story.

All anyone has to do is watch MTV, and many other shows on tv to see where some people want to take us. The push for bi-sexuality, the gay life style, and all other less than what is normal activities is designed to foster hope in the populace that by joining one of these groups that they can gain some semblance of normalacy in their lives. A total break down of a normal family unit, the children being manipulated by society without a parent having much to say, or do about it. We are under attack, both Male and Female, and the worst part of this is they are after our Children folks! It is time for the People to take back what is ours, our lives', our marriages, our Children.

...MALE sexuality is EEEEEEVIL!
My bet is that these female cops were roughing up the female "offenders" as a way to punish them for being sexually involved with MEN.
Had they been making out with other women, well, then, no problem...,
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the same thing began happening, here in the U.S..

I can relate to this, being born in India.
Social interactions between men, women are expected to be only Platonic. Anything else and you would be looked at like a Criminal !
Besides in India, women are considered to be some sort of Goddess, virtuous figure generally, even by authorities, and every relationship
problem, even legal is blamed on the guy.
This is also because of the huge prevelance of "Arranged Marriage", wherein the parents and relatives choose a partner for the guy/girl based on astrology, caste, religion...
So Dating per se is rare and unlikely to be encouraged as it would be against this traditional
ritual.

Indian wives take any shit from their husbands. Whats the other side of the moon, that indian wife gives hell to her husband for no fault of his. Want to read on this?, pan to my blog and other links listed in there.

For starters rampant misuse of Anti Harassment/Cruelty(Domestic violence) laws in india(the concerned section in Indian penal code is section 498a). The potency of misuse is much since the Police doesn't need any other supporting evidence or witness other than the wife's statement/complaint, to straight away arrest the Husband and his relatives(Whoever is named in the wife's complaint), following which is an ordeal of long drawn and wasteful legal proceedings for the Husband(in this law he is Guilty until proved innocent!, unlike any other law, anywhere else).

It is sad that we are all victims of globalization. It is sadder still that these laws are global as well. There is no safe haven, there is no more land of the free. There is nowhere to run, so our only choice is to stand and fight. "It is a good day to die!"
