I am writing to point out a few things I have noticed on the U campus. Repeatedly, we are told that feminist issues will bring us all equal rights, utopia and whatnot. Let's take a closer look at these issues, shall we?
First is the wonderful display put up by P.E.E.R. (Peers Educating to End Rape, an undergraduate program at the Women's Resource Center). The group noted the one-in-four rape statistic, which has been repeatedly disproved. If you need more information on the original source of this stat (a 1985 reader survey from Ms. Magazine), feel free to check out Who Stole Feminism? by Christina Hoff Sommers.
This brings up the question: If the claims are false, why use them? According to Eley, director of the Rape Recovery Center in 1985, there were many stats available, but this was the most shocking and would result in the most funding for her organization. Hence, this was the stat that was endorsed. So it appears this claim is made not to educate us as to how many people are actually harmed, but to make money.
We can also look at many other issues that have been traditionally seen from only the second wave feminist perspective, for example, domestic violence. According to the Department of Justice, men and women are equally likely to start a fight, so why are men more routinely punished?
Rape should beg the question of what we say to those falsely accused of rape, shouldn't it? Then there's divorce-is there really a man left who has actually looked at this topic and still expects fairness in a divorce court?
Are men even allowed reproductive rights in our society? Has anyone at the U even heard of the Choice 4 Men Movement?
I tried to express some of this in flyers and noticed that while not one person wrote to the e-mail address on the flyers, most of them were promptly taken down.
Isn't it interesting that whoever took down the flyers felt compelled to hide this message, not to respond to it? That just shows me how far we have to go in our society and here at the U specifically. That is why I formed a new student group, "Men's Rights of Utah." Please feel free to contact me to discuss these issues, or to get more information.

Or something like that...
Never mind that Chris Cantu wrote a great letter which contains truths and observations that, to anyone with a complete brain, look like givens. But some folks never let the truth get in their way. I believe that if these ladies who can't see past their nose had been raised with a father they would have learned about something called "fair play". But, no doubt, dear old dad left them before they were born or he beat their moms right before he left or he raped and pillaged a few small villages before beating mom and THEN leaving or they had moms that beat them because it was all dads’ fault. But NEVER because dear momma chucked dad out on his ear for the extremely complex reason of "honey - he just don't tickle my fancy no more". If you read enough of their propaganda one learns these things. Yes, there are men that leave. There are men that hit women. There are men that rape. And in far, FAR greater numbers there are men that do none of these things but instead are invisible beings that want nothing more than to support and raise a family, abide the law and leave the world a better place than they found it by imparting values to their children which, sometimes, are values that can only be seen through the eyes of a man. Can anyone here name ONE man they know personally that would make it their personal mission to take down flyers of an opposing view? I might not like 'em, but it's none of my god damned business to suppress 'em. Lest I forget, some people are missing a part of their brain.

I always find it interesting that those that claim to be systematically silenced and oppressed are also the ones most able to influence politicians, sell books, have TV specials made of their troubles, and generally shout down any of their alleged oppressors.

Wow. I wrote this hoping it would catch the attention of a few folks here at my school. The response has been surprising (people world wide read my little school newsletter??), and a bit over whelming to me. I am the author of this piece. If anyone has questions, or (PLEASE!) advice on how I can get this going here, feel free to contact me.

Is what is really needed. The fems have been doing it for so long, that they have a "package" that is embedded in most "instructional" offerings around the country.
If Men were really organized there would be a push to do exactly the same things, embedding messages in high school sports curriculums, philosophy classes, health classes, sex education classes, economics classes, and in college in law, business, psych, pre-med, engineering, etc.
As the young man in the letter points out - "has any young man really examined what the laws around marriage really are?"....
This needs to underpin most conversations in most coffee houses around campus.

If the 19th amendment were to be repealed, the feminist-driven politicians could just as easily take away men's voting rights if they felt men like us were going against their ideas. Therefore, I think repealing the 19th amendment would not be a good idea.

The 19th ammendment has to do with women's voting rights. It mandates that women be allowed to vote. Removing it would not endanger men's voting rights and would allow us to remove women's voting rights state by state.
