Could it be the first generation that grew up with single parents and saw the devastation of divorce (and the current state of family court) want no part in that blood sport!?

Could it be that many women honestly think that "equality" is what SHE wants, and denying what she wants (her entitlements) is "mysogyny"?

Could it be that "no fault" divorce, wherein either party (some men do it too!) can use a nuclear option, and "911" their partner because they "want a change of pace", "were unfulfilled", or just had found a new piece of eye candy?

Nahhhhh ...

Couldn't be any of THOSE reasons.

Interesting that the word "feminism" appears no where in a so-called serious journalistic piece about the devastation of the American family, the impending end of marriage, and no mention of the men's right's movement or the Marraige Strike.

BTW, The Evergeen (State) College is a well-known bastion of feminist-leftist-parasites, all academically marginal but enjoying life-time employment thanks to tenure.

But the article more or less agrees whis your point, it just doesnt use the code words that you use, in fact the author of the article seems to be avoiding all hot code words, and is careful not to assign blame. However the author does assign blame to the "self fulfillment" movement, which i think is mostly the fault of the psychictric and medical professions, with its contemporary emphasis on pathologizing everything.

I know the problems in my personal life seem to be a direct result of this. Big house Two cars, a dog and a great kid is not enough for her... She wants something MORE. To get that something more she is willing to destroy everything we already have and have built over the last 10 years. And the kicker is, she doesnt even know what it is she wants.

Me, I blame those gawd awful pulp womens magazines that seem designed to do nothing but put women (and their partners)down, so they feel compelled to buy their products so the woman can have MORE.

My analysis of the situation is not so much the university feminists who are encouraging people to think and speak (even if i dont agree with them), are at fault. It feminists like Rosie, Oprah, and Martha Stewart, whos bread and butter is a carefully crafted trade of making women feel disatisfied with their material possessions. For example, the media concentrates on what a wack job Michael Jackson is, but for every Michael Jackson there are 20 "IT" gurlz.

For example, Oprah this month has a huge supplement that basically says men are a bunch of supid ignoramuses, and these are the techniques to manipulate them. No, this article is not about how to better get along with men, it is straight up unapologetic, how to manipulate. (never mind its generalizations are sooooooo far off the mark its laughable) And at the same time it is far more entertaining than anything a college campus feminist would say.

The critique of the feminist/Oprah-inspired female self-fulfillment movement is a good one.

But the flip-side is, why are you, as a man, prepared to accept HER definition of YOU as a mere wallet?

It's one thing to be manipluated and recognize that it's happening.

It's quite something else to accept it as a "lifestyle."

"Sugar and spice and everything nice: maybe Speight's forgiving nature represents an ideal that even boys can aim for."

Thanks, msnbc, we needed the patronizing punchline. Nevermind your own article read "some boys take [physical aggression] too far" or even "Violence (...) is really rooted in the individual and the individual's situation. I don't think you can blame the culture entirely for this phenomenon".

Then again, it has indeed been a few years since dictionaries stopped differentiating between "some men" and "all men" in msnbc-land. Regardless of the article's content, the end just gave it away as a girly-feel-good piece.
