Runaway Bride Sentenced to Probation and Counseling
posted by Matt on 12:07 PM June 4th, 2005
Inequality SacredNaCl writes "Runaway Bride - Jennifer Wilbanks, sentenced to probation & a fine. Just as predicted, not a day of time, and the usual psychological counseling bit. Disparate justice really ticks me off, especially when it includes a false rape allegation as well, you can listen to the full tape of her call to her husband here."

Yup. Especially when over 90% of the persons behind bars are male. Ever wonder about that "gender inequity" while the mainstream media is going on about all those poor female VP who face a "glass ceiling" allegedly preventing them from becoming CEO? That just soooo terrible. The poor, poor dears. Whaaaaaa! And women are also underrepresented among the male politicians writing the laws that have imprisoned so many men. The poor, poor dears, deprived of an opportunity to write even more viciously anti-male laws. Bsob sob...

Listening to her frantic phone call with all her fictitious enhanced drama, and looking at her fabulous silicon-enhanced fictitious boobs ....

it all kind of starts to make sense.

Amazing the judge did not mandate an extensive mental health assessment and counseling.

I couldn't hear most of what she was saying. Does anyone have a transcript? I wonder what would have happened if some guy had been arrested and incarcerated based on her allegations (as usually happens when women falsely accuse)?

What's apparent from the mostly unintelligible phone call recording is that the Runaway Bride was manufacturing a hysterical pantomime, while the so-called dumb redneck boyfriend/fiance continues throughout to calmly ask logical and tactical questions that might lead to her rescue...

Questions like ---

"How did you get where you are?"
"Are you in a place where you can see anything?"
"Is there a gas station anywhere nearby?"
"Are you safe now?"

The "bride" only squeals and shreaks over and over.... "I don't know.... I don't know..."

This woman needs professional help, which sadly, the lenient court sentence did not mandate.

Here's a prediction ....

She'll violate her probation by running away again.

Right after the marriage.

It's in the Oprah Show contract she has already cut!

The really sick and bizarre part about this ordeal is the loyalty her jilted fiancée is displaying during this affair. He was at her side giving her moral support during the court appearance and still indicates he wants to marry her. He is setting new standards for misguided self-destructive chivalry and just plain stupidity!

"He is setting new standards for misguided self-destructive chivalry and just plain stupidity!"

Perhaps he's only blinded by love. Can't we all recognize an incurable romantic when we see one? Have we all become so disillusioned and cynical by life's experiences with judges and laws, that we can't see the uplifting power of love in a man, allowing him to rise above a woman's imperfections?

Have we all become so old, impotent, cynical, or financially bereft by failed love, that we've forgotten how to be young and foolish, casting care to the wind for the sake of intimacy with the opposite sex?

You have to admire a guy who's willing to risk everything in today's anti-male legal system for the love of this woman.

Just kidding! This guy is clearly not using common sense. If he had any real friends, they'd stop him before he does serious irreparable harm, that lasts the rest of his life.

..sigh... Ray, every try it? I had a friend with a woman who had a serious crack cocaine problem, worked on the side as a prostitute, and despite her having stolen multiple times from him and his family - he still hung on way past where he should have. I don't even want to think about the fines and other stuff he took care of.

Even when confronted with the obvious. We went out to recover his stolen car, found the car, and her turning a trick in it at the time. If that didn't shake him, what would? Nope. He was mad at me for taking him there. She would tell me point blank she was going to use him for his resources and move on when they ran dry. Couldn't tell him that, he would get angry at me for it. I did anyway, that is what a decent friend would do. I also documented it, a list with dates and times.

I suspect this guy is a lot like my friend. They are nearly impossible to reach until it blows up in their face for the 100th time. I suspect it is him who will end up paying off those fines, and for the next screwball thing she pulls. I'm sure his friends are telling him "Why don't you just wait a year or two before getting married?" (The gentle approach) and the hard "This woman is psycho, leave." approach.

Nice batch of comments about this. The circus rolls on, every detail of the story showing what a pathetic excuse for a human being she is.

I'll say this for her though - she's done the Men's Movement a big, big favour. Bravo!
