Georgia Residents: Support HB 221
posted by Matt on 08:37 PM March 26th, 2005
Inequality MANN administrators received the following with a request to post it:

"The misandric-ridden state of Georgia is in the process of reforming its antiquated and tyrannical child support laws. The reform legislation is HB 221 which would take in consideration the custodial parent's income, 90+ percent of the time the mother, in determining child support. Presently, only the non-custodial parent's income, 90+ percent of the time the father's, is used in determining child support which of course is completely nuts."

"HB 221 *almost* became law Thursday but failed by one vote. However, it will be re-voted on on Tuesday the 29th. This is a real opportunity to help throw off the yoke of governmental tyranny if enough support shows up at the capitol on this coming Tuesday.

The organization that is pushing this legislation is called Georgians For Child Support Reform and their website is at: http://www.gachildsupport.org/, and you can e-mail the President, Julie Batson (yes, a female is actually pushing for pro male reform), at: julesbatman-at-yahoo.com.

There are powerful feminist lobbyists on the other side that are working feverously trying to scuttle this reform which is probably why it failed by one measly vote.

So if you are in Georgia and can come to the capitol in Atlanta on Tuesday and show your support when HB 221 is re-re-voted on it would be most appreciated."

The Georgia State Senate just approved HB 221 for a reconsideration vote on Thursday of this week. The vote was 35 in favor this time around. HB 221 failed initially to pass with 29 votes, just one vote short of passage. So this is a very good sign for Thursday when the real deal vote comes up. Everyone who may have been alerted to be at the capitol today be there again this Thursday for the final stretch! Many well funded and powerful anti male/father pressure groups are out to kill this bill!

I hope it passes... I am tired of paying over $1100 to my ex and have her calling me asking to buy clothes and do even more than I am doing now. I have my daughter almost 50% of the time yet I pay the same amount of child support as a man that does nothing for his child. In the past when the Democrats were running things they had the chance to update and make the current laws fairer but they chose to take the attitude that only mad dads and 2nd wifes are complaining. Now they are spreading lies and doing whatever they feel is needed to keep HB 221 from passing. Sorry you had your chance, now stand back and watch what happens when you get complacent.
I love my child and will continue you to support her but its not fair for me to support my ex... If the judge thought I should pay her alimony then he would have awarded it. Oh thats right, she was caught in an adulterous affair and the judge told her no alimony. He gave her 20% of my gross because he gives everyone 20%. It didn't matter that how much time I spend with her or that I am seperately putting money into mutual funds, savings and college fund. This bill will be fair for all noncustodial parents that are trying to do the right thing.
