NY Times Acknowledges Injustice of Child Support

"About 70 percent of the debt is owed by men who earn $10,000 a year or less, or have no recorded wage earnings at all, according to the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement. Less than 4 percent is owed by men with incomes of more than $40,000"

Less than 4 percent is owed by men with incomes of more than $40,000" This is all so un-American. We're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. We're supposed to let people free who aren't guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Here we have a system that punishes 24 men who can't or might not be able to pay to go after 1 who might.

Why in this day and age should a man face a huge government-imposed fine ("child support") just because he had sex with a woman? Why are only women allowed to have sex just for fun? And why the hell does "child support" have nothing to do with the needs the child? I remember some lawyer who had sex with Jesse Jackson, had a kid, and got a huge amount of "child suport". Why does the govenment force a man to pay money to a rich woman that he slept with if she decides to have a kid?
