Women cleverer than men, says MP
posted by Matt on 05:28 PM January 22nd, 2005
Inequality bandersnatch writes "From the BBC, Women are brighter than men, according to the Labour chairman of the Commons education committee. Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman said there was a "danger" of being obsessed about how boys were doing at school. His comments followed a committee discussion about whether girls or boys found it easier to learn to read. "My own personal view is that women are brighter than men," the MP said, adding that women now earned on average more than men as middle managers. He said: "We should celebrate this, shouldn't we? The brightest kids are coming through and they happen to be women." And of course, there's been no calls for him to step down or apologize."

Ed. note: This story was published previously on MANN, but re-publishing it seems appropriate given the recent Harvard flap. The contrast in response is striking, yes?

Whites are superior in every way to Blacks.

Why? It's obvious! In the 1700s, nobody was "obsessed" about how well-educated blacks were. So, logically, whites are "cleverer"!

Isn't it fun how when you treat people unequally, generally test results in any given field are unequal?

(obviously the above works are satire, and I know everyone here will know that... I just don't want someone to quote me on some sort of "Feminazi Web Forum" and claim men are all racist.)

Notice how anything that women do better on, proves they are cleverer (aka superior), and this is a wonderful excuse to do nothing for men, or boys, who are disadvantaged. Anything that men do better on proves either nothing or that they haven’t done enough for women, and that means a programme is needed to help women.

On a racial note, in exams white children often do better than black children, which according to some proves inherent racism, but Asian children often do better than white children but this is overlooked.

The moral of this story is – to claim superiority of any group just choose facts that suit your claim.

The last lot of people who thought they were superior invaded Poland.

So true. This kind of anti-male thinking must change.

Whenever there's a comparison between genders, how females do things is considered normal, and males are found wanting by that measure. The same rule applies to the chestnut 'girls mature faster than boys'. No, girls become women at the same rate that boys become men. By a female measure boys mature more slowly at one point: early teenage boys aren't visually mistaken for grown men, where early teenage girls can be. By another measure, boys are capable of fathering children without complication from the moment they hit puberty, whereas girls bearing children too early can be dangerous and risky.

The other rule that comes to mind is the old wives tale that women communicate better than men. Women communicate better with each other than they do with men, and men communicate with each other better than they do with women. The measure for how well people communicate has been artifically set as 'how well people communicate with women.' I know I have a much easier time doing physical labor with other men, we know how to coordinate, most of the time without a whole lot of verbal noise. Tet when it comes to working with women, anything lost in the noise is the man's fault.

It too simplistic (and racist) to take cheat shots at another country. Great Britain is the home of the BBC (Everyone PC to a "man") and Fathers 4 Justice. Feminism is an international problem, not an excuse for oneupmanship.
