Inequality AngryMan writes "The BBC radio show Woman's Hour is both a national institution and a feminist mouthpiece. Here is a recent item they covered "Gateshead Council is giving a pay-out to female employees but not to the men who work alongside them". You need RealPlayer to listen."

These "pay equity" stats don't control for the fact that men don't have the extent of choice that women do to be a homemaker/child-caregiver. Women have life choices, i.e. work or be a homemaker, men are just assumed to like being wage slaves. So men work longer hours, for more years, etc.

Shared custody laws make being a stay-at-home dad more attractive (nothing like being a stay-at-home dad and then being deprived of equal custody by the usual sexist family law). So shared custody laws are a good way to address the discrimination against men that contributes to "pay inequity".

There is only one road to fairer wages...the picket line.

Actually, a marriage strike will do a lot more to fix this problem than traditional picketing ever would.
