UK Gov. Promotes Workplace Myths

News AngryMan writes "The UK government has bought into the feminist mythology about the workplace. This BBC article tells how Secretary Patricia Hewitt will announce a new drive to help women who want to work in 'male dominated sectors', such as IT and science, at a Downing Street conference on Tuesday."

Brits are just too polite and have forgotten the fine art of sarcasm, insult and invective. Here is an example of the way I correspond with the CBC in Canada....this approach is seeming to get results:

Hello, It's your friend the cranky masculinist again. The situation currently in the news concerning the wretched marooned outcasts on Pitcairn Island was with dutiful feminazi prejudice attributed to being the result of their society of forty some odd people being "male dominated". Yep, just let those penis encumbered, testostreone poisoned, scions of the Patriarchal oppression...from Mars be in charge of anything and sure as you are born...they will be diddling the kids. Men are and invariably are abusers of power and abusers of women and children as any feminazi gauleiter will quickly attest and nobody...but nobody would dare question.

Well here is a couple of facts you really should consider. First of all there were no women on the Bounty...the mutineers were all men and the women they mated with were all Polynesian...so that their offspring are of mixed parentage and mixed cultural background. Now before the men from Mars arrived in the South Pacific, these people lived in matriarchal tribes. The Queen matriarch of Hawaii, for example, was a sumo wrestler sized woman who had ten husbands, her primary consort was her half brother. By the way,the matriarchies of the South Pacific were societies of head hunters and cannibals who appeased their wrathful Earth goddess Pele by tossing people down volcanic vents.

Just by the way, before these societies were visited by Christian missionaries who brought them salvation and measles, women did the courting (from wich we get the term "getting leied", and there was no equivalent word in their language for "rape" (as Clarence Darrow noted during an infamous trial that happened in Hawaii in which three Hawaiian boys were falsely accused of the rape of a woman they had in fact brought to the hospital when they found her on the beach beaten by a Petty Officer she was having an affair with while her officer husband was at sea.)

Mr Darrow pointed out that the sexual discipline of native Hawaiians was so free and easy that no Hawaiian boy could reasonably be suspected of being a sexual predator, unlike the American sailors stationed at Pearl Harbour.

Now then...this DOES show that those wo are bound and determined to make men the new Jews-in-Germany are being compelled to shop the world's most remote corners for evidence that men are villains and women are victims.

Attributing such things to "male domination"is plain pure biggotry. Now if your mother never taught you how not to sound like a boorish biggot when you talk about men, which is really not too supprising when you consider that she was obviously too drunk to express the sort of sentiments that Andrea Dworkin expresses about men at the critical moment, don't worry. Me and the rapidly growing men's activism movement will be delighted to teach you better manners.

Being subtle also has its advantages.

Now as for 'Male Dominated Industrys' with a 'Macho image':

Well I'm not so sure the IT industry is 'Macho' more 'Mucho'. The 'Male dominance' came about through choices. Men chose to work long hours put in the effort to learn and experiment. Many Women did not. Those that chose the IT profession when it wasn't in vogue rose to the top and it just so happens most were men.

Sure encourage women into IT, but special advantages (as advocated by the BCS person recently), why?

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Good stuff old chap. Add a little shot of scotch to that tea and I'll join you!!

My point was simply that these partially government funded broadcast systems do provide feedback channels to their listeners and they are (in Canada at least) obliged by legislation and policy to air all feedback from their audience in a forum which (in Canada at least) is not a completely feminist dominated exercise in the Vagina Monologues.

If the CBC sees fit to insult me over an electromagnetic flux of hundreds of megawatts then they had better not be too taken aback when I enter their Boardroom, piss on the floor and spit copiously in their faces.

My experience with feminazis and their misguided supporters has been that the more frankly expressed and implacable your hostility is, the more respect you get.

But anyway, brother, do respond in whatever style you feel the most confident with and never relent. Cheers!!!

Perhaps we are too polite sometimes but we have to set a good exmaple to the former colonies, even the rebellious ones :-) but seriously I don't think we've lost sarcasm in Britain, but you're unlikely to hear any sarcasm about any feminist idea on the BBC. In one case, I've have an email exchange with a BBC radio producer (male) who insisted his programme "The Ill Adapted Male" was balanced and when he failed to convince me that it was, basically said "Go away". The BBC radio programme "Woman's Hour" has been going since 1946 and is clearly pro-feminist and there is no equivalent for men, but the BBC says it has "general appeal". Perhaps one day there will be a "Men's Hour" but I doubt it will be on the BBC.

By the way, there is also the question of the hours men and women work. They say the pay gap is calculated on hourly wage which ignores how many men are doing overtime to support their family as well as men doing more shift work and also that men working longer hours are more likely to get promoted. This Men's Hour extract points out how this longer hours of men is hidden or at least obscured and the Daily Mail headline referred to is an outright lies but it says something different in the article. I wrote to the author of the article but never received a reply.

From Women work longer hours than men, and women are paid less than before? - No, just lies from the Daily Mail

Women are working longer hours while men are putting in less time for their money. And yet the pay gap between the sexes has widened, research revealed yesterday.

Now answer the question - Who works more hours per week - men or women? or not sure?...

If your answer is Women - Boy have you bought it! Hook, line and sinker. Not Sure - You haven't quite bought it, but they have managed to confuse you. Men - Correct! Take the afternoon off. You'll still do more work than her this week.

If you go to the CIPD survey Women’s working week increases by half a day in five years

A woman's working week is half a day longer than it was five years ago. The new average stands at 33.9 hours, an increase of 3.5 hours on 1998 figures. In contrast, men's working hours have fallen slightly over the same period - from 45.5 to 44.8 hours so women's hours are increasing, but they are still way behind men's.

Sir, Back in the 1800's a Scottish nobleman committed one of the most generous and philathropic acts in history. He bought up a bunch of land that fur trading companies in England were no longer interested in and gave it away the the poorest and most dispossessed families in Scotland. His name was Selkirk. I am presently living in a house that was built by one of them. Humble, and such as it is, it is a place of soft landing...a home.

You sir, are a British "gentle"man.

Dignity is essentially a habit.

You would always be welcome in my home.

You are the sort of fellow I would hold up as an example of why the dignity of man is worth fighting for.

Carry on with your gentlemanly duels...if you encounter any ruffians who are really proud of their ignorance, you have a colonial soccer hooligan friend you can call on.

Patricia Hewitt is one of the most virulently anti-male feminists of recent times. Her position of responsibility in the British Government is both dangerous and maddening.

It seems that she's never able to resist a jibe about sexism irrespective of what she's talking about. Her appearance at last year's UK national automotive Motor Show was overhadowed by her criticism of a "sexist advert" advertising the show. After huge complaints from British motor manufacturers about how unhelpful her comments were at a show which was meant to boost British car sales, she was forced to apologise for the controversy she caused.

But it's not just me, a mere male, who diagrees with her feminist views. A major national daily newspaper columnist (Melanie Philips) describes her as "the most ferociously feminist member of [the] government"" in a damning article about her witchhunt against stay at home mothers. You can read about it here.

Also, the Daily Mail ( a large UK newspaper) reported on her department - Trade and Industry -allegedly having gender based discrimination policies thus:
"Predominantly male workforces have been targeted for gender cleansing at management level ... as [Patricia Hewitt's] policy of 'positive' discrimination becomes subjugation of the white male workforce," the paper reported. "Not that black men and women do any better in the DTI. The only people to benefit are white, middle-class women. Women exactly like the Australian feminist [Hewitt] herself."

Unfortunately, she is the classic example of chivalrous promotion. She has a platform to spout the most outrageously factless feminist dogma that we are all used to, and her male peers and boss who put her in the position pat themselves on the back at their progressiveness.

I wonder how they'll feel when the venomous little man hater manages to replace all of them with women who'll have no intention of showing the fairmindedness and balance that allowed them to get into their positions.

As an aside, perhaps Patricia will also address the huge imbalance in males versus females entering law and medicine and teaching courses. Using her logic, there must also be dicrimination taking place in these fields (and the education system) that allows that situation to exist.

Interesting how there's absolutely no "equal opportunity" attention to the rights of FATHERS to have a reasonable leave from work to love and spend time with their new-born children.

No, that's reserved for the "fairer" sex.

Only women are discriminated against because when they give birth, their careers suffer.

Is there a man on this planet who has not felt discriminated against when he became a father, and had to accelerate the wage-slavery routine of his work regime, with no legally mandated leave-of-absence, and additionally he no doubt felt pressured to increase his work hours and income due to the arrival of his new daughter or son?

The total absence of consideration by this Brit feminazi for the equal rights of fathers gives the lie to the feminist's notion of "equality."

For feminists, women + children = family.

Men = slaves.

Note the bogus attempt at balance:

"But it is also about saying childcare jobs are really there for women and not suitable for men. Career sexism goes both ways."

Low-wage childcare jobs are small potatoes. What about all those (implicitly) extremely high paid child care-givers, e.g. stay-at-home moms? How many men have access to that job? And what about the huge bias in child custody decisions?

And probably like here, social security from the husband transfers over... In the US you only have to be married a few years to lose a large chunk of your social security benefits if you are a man even if you divorce.

But as we all know, they live several years longer. It's just like any other annuity. If you pay in 10K and live 10 years beyond that, you get 1K a year. You you expect to live 15 years the same 10K only works out to 666.66. The private sector seems to have no problems grasping this, but the public sector ...!
