This story shows how critical the judge's power is in determining what evidence is "admissable."
His rulings effectively prevented the history of this woman's day-care service from being considered through eye-witness accounts.
Interesting that the jury discounted the majority of medical experts who concluded that the manner of the infant's death was consistent with abuse by the care provider.
Jurors admitted being "confused," and instead of acting responsibly to clarify that issue, they prematurely acquitted a potential murderer.
The accused's statement that the baby's death "had nothing to do with me..." is chilling....
"It's a terrible thing ... living in fear."

Notice that in this lovefest exculpatory article the writer fails to get a reaction of the victim's parents.
If the husband hadn't an ironclad excuse, he would've been the prime suspect, probably convicted, and we would've been treated to the tearful mother claiming that justice had been served.

Why do people keep having kids? Why do they have kids and give them to total- and near-total strangers to raise?
People are stupid.
